This place is only good for breakfast. It's the only time you'll get prompt service and decent food. The service is bad in the evening. Took 20 minutes to get our food, and it was like warm. Wish we could have an option for no stars because this place does not deserve any when it comes to service. Open tables, no one in front of you waiting and it still takes 20 minutes or longer to be seated is a joke. Then when you are it takes 15 minutes before your drinks and food order is taken, another 15 minutes before the drinks arrive. Another 30-45 minutes before the food comes to the table. By then the drinks are gone and good luck on getting refills. And hopefully you get some flatware to eat your meal with, because that is some additional wait time. Had breakfast here twice. Cheap breakfast and good. Had biscuit and gravy for $4. Fast service. Had the breakfast buffet on Sunday for 8$ with drink included. Clean and surprisingly comfortable but severely understaffed. As for the food, I ordered a steak medium rare, and it came well done (and took over an hour). It's been several months since I've been. Decided to give them another try. I was hoping that the hotel management was going to take a look at the operations in their restaurant. It looks like they did a remodeling here. Good job here. I notice newer and hopefully better servers. Last time we were here the server wasn't happy that my co-driver asked for a refill of his drink. Bad enough that he had to ask but her showing reluctance at having to get the refill was totally wrong. I ordered chicken parmesan with spaghetti. It was decent. Nothing to really complain about. The delivery of the food was prompt enough. I gave them three stars as the service could still improve. If I could give 2 1/2 stars I would. At least it wasn't horrible like before. I might change the rating up or down as I stop here in the future. July 1,2015 update Ordered their blackened prime rib. Good sour French bread roll. It tasted okay. For me the better tasting sourdough comes from California. But onto this meal. They put in a solid effort. The prime was tasty with the spices they used. Not over powering. My boyfriend and I ate breakfast at Prospector Cafe and learned to regret it. First off the hostess Alicia wouldn't sit us where we wanted to sit because the people behind us were her friends and they wanted that booth so she took us all the way to the back where the waiter couldn't see us and we couldn't see him to get his attention. Then our waiter, Juan, ignored us for most of the time we were there. At one time several of the staff were just standing around gossiping by the kitchen. Mourine, the department head has no customer service skills, problem solving capabilities, and is questionable how she even still holds the position. Awful -- Over the years, when I've been really grabbed by good service, I'll write a review. This is only the second or third time i"ve felt compelled to write a review of a lousy restraurant. Here's why: 1. None of the food, e.g. speghetti, fish, nor chicken tasted good. Barely Passable. The waitstaff, despite my family and I trying to be friendly, had the friendliness of a door knob. While the prices were quite reasonable, --- the old adage of you get what you pay for applies here! The food and service was so poor, the relatively low prices don't compensate. If the owner of this property is serious about running a good restaurant, he or she needs to fire the entire staff and start from scratch - especially with the waiters, cashier and cooks! Went in for dinner on Saturday and we got right in and ordered but had to wait for the food. The food was well worth the wait. I had the pastrami and corned beef triple sandwich. My wife had prime rib and a potato.The brunch on Sunday was much the same. The selection was smaller than the Nugget but the cost was about 7.95. The scrambled eggs were not very good. Everything else was pretty good. the shredded chicken was awesome. Bacon was ok but no ham just pork. Fruit selection was good and there was a good selection of desserts.
