Oh man. The food here is pretty terrible. It was the only restaurant open and available smoke a sit down dining at the time so we settled here. We sat "outside" which is like their patio with fake sunlight. It borders the hotel inside the casino. They did a good job making it look so bright and green. There were flies present and it was a little annoying and disgusting. I ordered the country fried steak dinner and it didn't look appealing at all. The menu states season vegetables, but there's only 1 zucchini used and maybe half of it! The country fried steak was really thin and under seasoned. The gravy didn't do any justice because I needed to pour Tabasco sauce over it to make it edible. Definitely not worth dining here. Much rather just do fast food next time. read more

Oh my, we gambled going here without reading yelp! We walked up to the restaurant and paused to read the menu. No priced listed?! I made the joke to my hubby, "if you need to know prices, ya cant afford this place" A guy carrying in his drink from the casino floor, said, "naw, this place has cheap prices". Having had decent food in a casino before and starving, we decided to go for it. Heck, just wanted comfort food items like tenders and fish n chips, can't be too bad or too pricey??Oh, it can.. I think it is just all very bland frozen burned type foods and greasy. The only saving grace on the meal was a homemade dipping sauce. My hubby had fajitas that were edible/ok, just all very bland. Also, its located in the smoking side of the casino and is a smoking restaurant, so after a bit you'll feel those scratchy throat effects. When we got the bill, I was very shocked at the appetizer price $13.39 for lil tenders? $27 for lame fajitas?! Also s restaurant surcharge?! Not cheap, not even market price and not worth these prices or fees! The only good was our professional server, he even gave us chips and salsa as we waited and he was always attentive. Its not his fault the restaurant hides the prices, serves sad food, it truly felt a part of the sad gambling business, Im not into it at all! Great service and pretty yummy food! We've been here a couple of times now and I'm surprised at the lack of food pix! We've always been treated well here and their service is always friendly and fast. We especially enjoy their breakfast and DESSERTS!!! (You can't go to the desert, without enjoying a dessert!!! #amiright ?!) Hahahaa! I think my husband's "dad jokes" are rubbing off on me! We enjoy their pancakes, 3 eggs your way and French toast! The food was insanely bad. No other restaurants were opened and I was hungry. This might have been the worst steak I've ever eaten in my life. It was white colored... It said NY strip, but it looked like pork or tuna. Anyways, I forced it down knowing there was no other food around. My mom's pasta was just as bad. The chicken was super though and the alfredo was breaking apart, meaning it was old sauce reheated. The salad looked like it was about to go bad. But at least the toast was good. That was the best part of either meals. The server was amazing. He was nice and attentive. There's only so much you can do with old food. If the food could beat the flavor of a frozen dinner from a grocery store, I might have given extra points for the service. read more

We were craving some steaks and the Steak House at the Rainbow was booked so we came over to the Nugget and tried Golden Harvest. We were seated the moment we walked up. They had the tables and other guests seated 6 ft apart. We both got medium rare 8 oz steaks I had the mashed potatoes, vegetables and salad and my SO had the fries, vegetables and salad. We would of been happy without the vegetables they tased bland and tasted as if they had been sitting in water to long. The steak was seasoned nice and it was juicy it was great for only being $15.99. Our waitress was prompt and made sure we were taken care of. We will eat here again for future trips. read more

Ga-ROSS... I'll give something positive though first - the service wasn't as bad as others have had, it was OK speed and the waitress was nice and quick to refill drinks. Now the rest... The food was atrocious and while we (3 in party) were starving none of us could even force the whole meal down and my partner got sick. His fajitas tasted like they took the whitest, blandest chicken and to add taste dragged it through the salt flats. The rice we could tell was probably rice a Roni, the cheese wasn't melted and just inedible. Then gross part, the wall had a snot rocket, yes a booger on the wall and this during COVID when everything should be wiped down frequently. I know, give benefit of doubt but I expect extra cleanliness not less. Please avoid and something Burger King. read more

What a disappointment. After a long day on the road we were looking forward to a great meal, but didn't find it at the Golden Harvest Cafe at the Nugget. The service was slow and inattentive. It took about 10 minutes before someone showed up at the hostess station to seat us. The food arrived reasonably quickly, but they never checked on us afterwards until we finished our meal. The food was mediocre at best. The steak wasn't bad, but what was described as large house fries were just regular fries like you'd get at MacDonald's. And the vegetables on the side were awful and watery, as if they had been thawed from a package and not sufficiently warmed up. If I ever pass through West Wendover again, I'll go somewhere else to eat. read more

The worst! Grilled ham and cheese sandwich took half hour! The place was practically empty so I don't understand why it took so long. When it finally Arrived it was dried out bread with a piece of salty ham and some cheese and cold. The service was non existent we were given a small glass of water when we were seated and never refilled. Never once asked if our Food was ok or given any condiments except ketchup. When we asked for our bill and asked to have the sandwich removed it was a big production...... If gambling is why you came to Wendover, well, you're in the right place. You will find out how lucky you truly are. First you will gamble to see when you will get service. This is my first negative review . But it was so bad I had to. Nothing, not one thing, was good. Coffee sucks. The eggs were not done. I ordered them sunny side up. I've been eating them that way for 30 years. I know what one looks like. And these were just raw. When I told the waitress that they weren't done right she replied "well sunny side up doesn't get flipped" Yeah, no shit. But it doesn't mean raw. The hash browns were tasteless. And the ham steak had been in the freezer so long it had freezer burn on half. The toast had been sitting out so it was cold and rubbery. The waitress asked if I wanted the eggs redone and I said no. I wouldn't trust them with scrambled. You can cook a turd over and over, it's still a turd. This place is a complete dumpster fire. this place is seriously the worst, and as for the yelps saying just grab a starbucks instead, the starbucks was horrible too!! but back to this cafe...it had a very depressing atmosphere. everyone that worked there looked like they hated their life. the waitress did not smile once. the food came out fast and the portions were big, yes. but everything tasted bland and flavorless. the shrimp cocktail was nasty. the soup looked like it came from a can. the only thing that looked good was the quesadilla. did not enjoy it at all. most of our food was wasted because we couldn't stomach the flavor. next time i'm passing thru, i'll make sure it's not on a Tuesday so I can try Trino's Tacos. Horrible food and service. I had the "prime rib" which was more like an unknown beef substance dryer than the desert that surrounds wendover. No knife from the server to cut the extremely tough "meat". The server left me to fend for myself in the middle of my meal. The bottom line is, the employees don't give a crap and neither does the management. The mangers sit and text on their phone and ignore the blatantly horrible service from the employees. I had two T-bone steak dinners and a burger, and they tried to give me the burger free instead of one of the T-bone steak dinner. So I suggest you look at your receipts when eating here.
