I've done reviews before on the Romanza in Wendover but I want to give a newer one since being there 3 years ago!! It's still AMAZING!! This is one of the reasons we come to gamble and spend my birthday or anniversary here is because of the fabulous food, atmosphere and service. It is so worth the $$ !! I had a great birthday again coming here. Thanks to our server Anna that took excellent care of us with a smile. We will always come back. read more

The service was very slow we had to wait 45 minutes for the drinks and the Martini had too much vermouth in it when it finally came the food was a total disappointment the tomato sauce tasted like something out of a jar not high end at all never again avoid this restaurant if you can horrible dining experience read more

Romanza has a quiet and calming ambiance. The server was quick to bring food and often checked in on our table. Our dinner was delicious and gorgeous. The mashed potatoes, were slightly dry - though advertised in menu as "creamy." The pasta was delicious and was some of the best alfredo I've had ! Appetizers were quick to come out and plated beautifully. read more

Gotta be honest, I had pretty low expectations given that this restaurant is in Wendover. I was expecting more Olive Garden quality and was actually blown away. One of the best Italian Restaurants I've been to! We had 8 people in our party and every dish was outstanding. read more

Romanza is an upscale Italian spot and one of the best restaurants in Wendover, NV. It is located inside the Montego Bay hotel and casino on the West side of the casino floor. This is a nice place with beautiful decor and excellent service. The restaurant is beautiful inside and feels very romantic. Great for a date night or a fancy meal! The menu features many delicious options as well as a nice wine menu. They start you out with a bread basket with butter and 4 different types of bread. Each one is great in it's own way and adds to the service. The salad is made table-side and their Tuscana Soup is beyond delicious. I highly recommend it! Olive Garden doesn't come close to this soup! All their Italian dishes are fantastic and come out hot and right on time. We have tried many over the years but I always love their Chicken Parm and their Alfredo dishes. The Tuscan trio is a great option for you to try 3 different things on one plate. Four stars instead of five simply because they seem to no longer enforce any sort of dress code. We showed up dressed nicely as you would expect in a fine dining restaurant to find people in ripped jeans, flip flops and tank tops. It really takes away from the fine dining experience. Otherwise, this place in fantastic in all other areas! Another nice perk is that you can use casino comps to pay for dinner here. Awesome! read more

First time, seated promptly even though we didn't have a reservation. Hostess was warm greeter. Atmosphere was comfortable and a lovely sound bububble after noise of casino floor. A giant bread basket came promptly with 4 different types. We both ordered a cocktails and they also came promptly. If we had a critique, it would be the lack gin options. We thoroughly enjoyed the banter with our waitress. We ordered a filet and a ribeye -- both cooked perfectly to how we requested, and seasoned nicely. I'd recommend the mash potatoes that are described as mascarpone. We both had Cesar Salad and we thought dressing was above average. No room for dessert. We will go back! Best steak we've had since we relo'd to Utah 8 months ago. read more

Fabulous food and service. I had the Crab and Shrimp Cannaloni and my husband had the scallops served on a bed of mushroom risotto. The were both delightful read more

Food was GREAT, service was great, and ambiance was lovely, but not pretentious. The chicken marsala was a hit! So flavorful! From the salads, to the entrees, to the desserts... Our meals were great. When we go to Wendover again we'll definitely be eating here! read more

Terrible food AND there were like 10 flies attacking me as I ate. This place is disgusting.

Excellent food and the service was impeccable! We were dining with a group of six and were seated promptly, with no wait. We also had a BOGO coupon per couple with a face value of $36 to defray the high cost of the meal. We started the meal with some scrumptious, fresh baked breads, followed by a salad. The wife had a Caprese Salad. The balsamic vinegar was almost non-existent but when requested they brought her a small container to add as she liked. I had an excellent Caesar salad. For our entrees the wife had the ravioli and I had the braised beef short ribs served over mushroom risotto. The short ribs and risotto were fabulous and the wife LOVED the raviolis. We will definitely come back when we are in town. read more

We always have an amazing time here! This time we decided to take a break from our normal steak and lobster legs and try something else. We tried the ravioli, it was ok but not with the $35 as an appetizer. My husband got the braised short ribs and loved it, tender and rich with flavor (we got rice from the cafe to eat with the ribs lol) I got this crab and shrimp cannelloni, it was ok no real flavor, I couldn't really taste any seafood and the sauce was kinda bland. read more

I'd go 3.5 but 4 is closer than a 3. Despite every last customer showing up in jeans and t-shirts, some t shirts newer than others, the restaurant could be defined as fine dining. The space is very large, well decorated for the location and it is warm and inviting. All of the booths have giant monitors with scrolling photos of exotic locations across the world. Kinda cool and distracting as well. Food: Fresh bread and numerous selections. All of the bread I enjoyed tasted fresh and they even had dutch crunch! Since moving to SLC from SF, I have been missing dutch crunch a lot! Was nice to see that. Bruschetta app was exceptional. Very well seasoned, the balsamic glaze was a very nice touch and they grate parmigiano reggiano over the top, table side. Very good appetizer. House salad was also prepared table side and I did like the bacon, croutons and crisp, fresh lettuce. However, the house dressing was too thin and lacked flavor. Minestrone soup was pretty solid. I love LOVE a good bowl of soup and this hit some high notes. I would order this again for sure. Scallops bomb.com Very well seasoned and almost bordering on salty, if I may provide my Top Chef judges table insanity. Very hard sear on the scallops, which I love and clearly basted with butter and herbs. The flavors were fresh, herby, and definitely packed a huge punch. The mushroom risotto was a bit on the salty side and I think it was overcooked. I liked the flavors, but it was a bit heavy. Baked ziti was not so good at all. It was basically a giant pile of pasta, with way too much cheese, and it was all stuck together. It ate dry and needed more sauce and a bit more attention to detail. Service was exceptional. Our waitress was very attentive, checked on us often, but not too often and I thought she did an excellent job. She had a lot of tables to tend to, as the place was packed on a Saturday night, during prime time dinner service and she worked her butt off. I always appreciate wait staff because I know it's a tough gig. Tip well folks. It's an important quality of a good diner and we should all do our part to give back when we can. read more

We arrived at 5:15pm 15 minutes after they opened. The hostess said we need a reservation so we peaked inside and found that there were only a small handful of tables were taken. And went ahead and put our name on the list which only had 6pm at the earliest time. Our show started at 7pm and didn't want to be late. So I pulled out the smart phone and made a quick reservation under my brother in law's name. He walked up and we got right in. Wonder why they need to play games? The food was okay, the best part were the appetizers, their main courses weren't that flavorful or anything to write home about. Service was really good, always attentive and checking our waters and was quite funny. We kept seeing the hostess walking around giving us a dirty look. Not sure we will want to come back, unless it is for the appetizers and the desserts. read more

I usually expense this place when I'm here for work. Very good intimate Italian restaurant. Great for dates. The ambiance is certainly one that caters to people who should dress up as it is fine dining, but its fine if you don't. I've gone in sweatpants before. The food is plentiful especially with the fresh made bread. Its freshly made and tastes exactly how it should be with a restaurant of this caliber. So, my only issue with the place is that it absolutely has no ability go get signal for my cell phone when inside. When I asked the staff about this, they confirmed that they too have no signal inside the restaurant. What sucks is that I'm usually eating alone, so I use my phone for entertainment while I eat. There is no wifi either. When I remembered that, I took my food to go. My meal came with a soup. The soup they put in a cup. Okay, thats fine. They threw some bread in there, and handed me a bill. I usually don't look at the bill- I just pay it. When it came back I noticed my meal was $140.00. Whoops, guess I shoulda looked at it. Didn't know how they mistakenly put one of the 3 other tables in the restaurant check as my bill. I only had one $28.00 order. They were able to clear this up, and I paid my real bill. All in all, this place is for fine italian dining. But its wendover, so it's not like there are many choices. I probably won't come here if I didn't get to expense it. I'd be fine at one of the many diners or fast food restaurants around Wendover. read more

Romanza is the best restaurant in Wendover by far. Not only are the food and wine top notch, the host, servers and assistant food / beverage manager are too. Teena is awesome as manger, servers Christian and Lupe are the best. Ernie, the Montego Bay assistant food and beverage manager makes sure you are taken care of. The lobster tempura appetizer is fantastic and is a much better value than the fried lobster appetizer at the Rainbow Steakhouse. Also the steaks at Romanza are to die for. Perfectly cooked every time. After trying both the Steakhouse and Romanza multiple times, Romanza is the clear winner. You will leave as friends with the staff. read more

Stayed in wendover for a short getaway and decided to eat here. I couldn't believe how good the food was! We started with fantastic bread and then an appetizer that was to die for. We got served our salad by the server table side, something you don't see much anymore. Ordered the chicken and portobello cannelloni and lasagna. Two simple dishes that are difficult to get really good. Both were very, very good. We will recommend this restaurant to everyone and will definitely be back. The best service! And the food is supremely delightful. I am such a picky patron. I have a favorite SERVER Teena! She is such a nice person professional and exact knows what we need and knows How to make you smile. Ernesto manages the best casino restaurant fine dinning in Wendover. Our server was Claudia and she was great. Celebrating a birthday and a fine meal was our goal. The bread was brought to the table and it is tasty !! We shared the Rock Shrimp and Calamari . This is a large portion . It came with cooked onions and pickled onion slices and two dipping sauce. Then came a salad for me, and she had Tuscana soup. The main course was the seared sea scallops , the other was King crab legs Every celebration ends with dessert, and sharing the Chocolate Raspberry Mouse Bombe was wonderful. The staff gave us timely service, and we enjoyed a great location. I only have one observation, i understand this restaurant is in a casino. A small dress code would be great when I am in a beautiful location, that is decorated to give ambiance . Please consider the small dress code of : Removing baseball caps, removing cowboy hats too. When I pay $200 or more for two l, it would also be great if men would wear a collar shirt, leave the over worn T-Shirts in your room, or car . read more

This place is obviously overpriced since it's in a casino. I expect a fine dining italian place to make their pasta in house. I had the spaghetti and it was obviously satire bought noodles. I spent almost 30 dollars for spaghetti that an 8 year old could do a better job at. The bread is great though. read more

I go to Wendover just to eat here. The scallops over mushroom risotto is to die for. The bread basket they bring is impeccable with the different arrangements to chose from. The salads are amazing, nicely chilled and dressed to perfection. Staff is always on point. Do not put your nose down to this establishment because it is located in a casino. Once you walk in you get lost in the quiet, well appointed atmosphere. There isn't Italian food that comes close to this place in Salt Lake City. read more

I was not prepared to find a good Italian meal in this border town. Romanza set me straight. Their pastas and entrees were extremely well prepared. The sauces appropriate and flavorful. Romanza's is our first choice of restaurants in the Wendover, NV area. They have recently renovated the restaurant and it has a bright atmosphere and classy look. All of the staff is very friendly. We are always greeted with smiles from all the staff members. The food is excellent and always comes out at the perfect temperature and is so delicious. I have tried many of the entrees but my all time favorite is the Tuscana Soup and Chicken Marsala. Reasonably priced and excellent service. You won't regret eating at this restaurant. read more

This is the expensive Italian restaurant inside Montego Bay. The food was decent but not really representative of the price paid. I guess you pay a nice chunk for the atmosphere and the staff dressing in fancy clothes. This place is great if you want a quite, alone type meal. If you're just looking for a bite to eat and don't care what the noise level is or that the server is not wearing a tie...then just go to one of the regular restaurants or the buffet. read more

I hardly give 5 stars but I really enjoyed this place. Service was excellent! The atmosphere is romantic and the food is to die for! Yes, it's a little expensive but well worth it. On a recent jaunt to Wendover, Nevada or Utah depending on which side of the street you are on, we had a fun time. While mindless gambling is not our cup of tea, we do enjoy eating in new places. The Romanza had just opened in one of the casinos (who knows they are all alike with neon and mirrors) and we went for dinner. Sadie the waitress was engaging and the food was wonderful. Very authentic and delicious. Since it is new, there may still be a few glitches to work out, but it was a highlight of the trip. Judy Helm Wright read more
