Our old air conditioning units were failing, ProSkill came out, and diagnosed the problem and cost to repair them. They provided the work estimate and I asked them to price out replacing the units. They worked up the options while the technician gave our unit what he needed to keep the units functioning for the few days until they could install new units. Got their number from a formal tenant. The water heater on one of my rentals broke down. Another plumber company (Freddie's Plumbing) came out, did some repairs and really F it up. When a new tenant move in, the gas company put a red tag on it and told us not to use it. Of the 10+ years of having rentals, never has the gas company put a do not use red tag on a rental. Anyhow, Tyler with Proskill came and give me their $600 50 gallon special. Out the door with additional connections was like $701. Tyler is fast and reasonable priced. Other plumber may give you good price but you may find that the work is questionable. I found out the hard way. I was kind a surprise that Proskill has no reviews. I've only used them once, and that was due to my normal plumber being unavailable but my water heater blew and flooded my garage, and since it was 11 years old, it was time to get a new one. As one of the few 5 star rated plumbers out there, I decided to give them a shot. They set an appointment time for later that day but actually called to see if they could come even earlier as they were close by and the transition from their office to the field was smooth. Another happy service today. We had ProSkill install our water heater last year and I was VERY pleased with the technician and his work. Today I signed up for their AC maintenance plan. Hunter was my technician and he was wonderful. He was thorough and honest. He did not try to sell me a bunch of stuff I did not need which other companies I have dealt with in the past have done. Both visits the technician showed up on time. Communication has been great from the start to finish. I do a lot of research before I chose a company to hire for anything. I also chose companies that pay their employees hourly. I have found that most companies in trades, such as AC/plumbing, pay their technicians commission for any service they can sell the homeowner. I have always felt this compromises a company/technicians integrity. Proskills pays their employees hourly (not on commission). It is such a different experience when you take commission out of the equation. Both experiences with Proskills has been extremely positive. I am so happy to have found them. I plan to use them for all my plumbing and AC needs. I also have referred them to family member who have been very happy. Their very detailed report they give you is also worth mentioning . Just had service done for toilet supply line. I scoured the internet as I am new to the area. And ProSkill kept coming up. I looked at many, but hard to find anything negative about this one. After having another contractor take a motor out of our AC, tell us the motor would be difficult to find and cost $1500, and in general obscuring the true nature of the situation and trying to pressure me into installing an inefficient unit because that's all he could get for sure, I got tired of them when the lead contractor started calling me names. Huh? So I looked for other contractors. I climbed on the roof and looked at the AC to figure out what it was, you know, like the first guy should have, then went through the web site, made a call, helpful guy shows up. Analyzed electric bills and efficiency differences, discussed the contract parameters, and away we went. ProSkill installs a primo unit a couple days later. It is a totally different house with the highest end unit of its kind. Don't settle for the single or two-stage units, look into the variable stuff. You'll be glad you did. It's unfortunate I can't give less than 1 star. My elderly mother and I called out both an AC repair man and a water softener repair man to our home and 2 out of 2 tried to, for lack of better word, scam us out of (between the two services) $10,000 dollars which must say something for Proskills training/sales practices. The AC repair man said everything inside and outside needed to be replaced, although someone else from their company told us only the outside unit needed replacing. The water softener repair man didn't even touch our unit, assumed we couldn't get parts, and quoted $1,900 because he said we would just need a new unit and had "too much water pressure". All in all, we got our ORIGINAL AC unit and water softener fixed for $625 instead of the $10,000 Proskills tried to hustle us out of!!! I would choose any other company, truly. read more

I called them at nine in the morning needing a toilet snaked. They were able to come out at noon, which I really appreciated. The plumber was polite and courteous. The snaking took less then ten minutes. I thought the price was high for the job and time it took. I did call a competitor for a price comparison and ProSkill was $15 cheaper. The reason I deducted one star is because the plumber's shoes were filthy and he left dirty footprints from the door to the bathroom, he made three trips total, on my clean tile floor. Other plumbers I've used in the past have always wore booties when they came in the house. After he took off his gloves to do the electronic signatures his hands & nails were filthy too. I get that they do dirty work but it was gross to look at and I didn't appreciate him getting my floor dirty. read more

I must say, that I have never had a more unpleasant experience with an A/C contractor's representative in my entire life. The service tech / salesperson showed up at our house and immediately started to question our "maintenance procedures", then proceeded to set the table for what would be a very enlightening experience. He proceeded to provide me with a proposal of around $700 to add the Freon (that was no longer available for purchase for any less) in one of our units - and that was after I questioned the original estimate that was quite a bit higher. If that wasn't bad enough, he then proceeded to tell me that most if not all of the internals were "blown out" in another A/C unit (#2) and proceeded to tell me it would be around $900 to fix that problem. I told him that I would "think it over". After talking to a friend in the business, I found that a simple capacitor (that I purchased on-line for $25.00) is all that was needed to fix my A/C unit (#2). I was then able to find the Freon on-line and will end up doing that myself. I could have blown over $1,500 in this case, because it was hot and were desperate at the time. It was the hottest day of 2018 and our AC went out. I chose to call ProSkill after seeing many good online reviews. But after about a 3hr ordeal dealing with two untrained after-hours answering service operators I was having second thoughts. I finally spoke to a knowledgeable operator who got our emergency A/C repair on track. And a manager even followed up after 11pm. He scheduled a repair the next day between 10a-noon. The repairman was knowledgeable and he was all business. The A/C was up & running in about 20mins. It was a bumpy ride at first. But once the ProSkill pros took over it was a good experience. TOO rich for my blood. 4 small repairs a shower valve a toilet valve and replace two outside faucets. 530 bucks ????? parts would have been 75 bucks tops from Home Depot a plumber could have done it all in 1.5 hrs. I've done these myself before in an afternoon. I think he wasn't really interested in doing it so they quote you through the roof to move on. I had a leaking brine tank on my water softener and a leaking bathroom faucet. Greg showed up on time with a text that he was on the way. We discussed my options with the water softener and came to the conclusion that it wouldn't be worth $250 to change out the brine tank since the unit was 9 years old. Greg said I could probably wait until the leak worsened before I had to have a new unit installed. As far as the leaking faucet Greg changed out the cartridges on both the hot and cold faucets for a minimum service charge. He also tightened the connections on all of my faucets in my house at no additional charge. I would highly recommend Greg and ProSkill. read more

Total bait and switch company. I was quoted a price of $1499 to replace a water heater. This quote was both online and in a phone conversation. After the technician came out he quoted me a price of $2000. He said the additions were for items required for any installation and included fittings, Gas line and expansion tank. Said he couldn't use any of the items that were already there. As I needed hot water I let him do the install minus the expansion tank which he said was $300 installed. His charge $1662. The next day I purchased a new expansion tank from Home Depot for $41 and had it installed for $90 - total $131 as opposed to $300. The guy who installed the expansion tank said he would have done the whole job including all parts and labor for $1000. Pro Skill total ripoff and I was supposedly getting a discount fro them because they had done all my heating and A/C servicing for the last 3 years. read more

Don't buy the local family man business they peddle on their website. I used ProSkill to fix an AC problem during the summer. When their technician arrived, I was given an excessively large estimate to fix the problem. When I pressed the technician for an explanation of the problem, I was told I could "take it or leave it'. After a testy exchange, I decided to get a second estimate and found that it was 1/3 the cost of the ProSkill estimate to repair. What was worst of all is that the 2nd AC technician advised me that a prior AC technician had deliberately sabotaged my AC coil by cracking it in multiple places with a tool. When I complained to the owners, they expressed concern, examined my AC unit to confirm the vandalism, but offered no reimbursement as I couldn't prove it was their technician who damaged it (who else?). Find yourself another AC company to use! Any if you need a plumbing repair, I strongly recommend finding a competent plumber on Craigslist who will charge you a fraction of what ProSkill will charge you. read more

Our water heater decided to quit, and it never happens at a convenient time. After finding a hybrid water heater at Lowes, you'd think the install would be a breeze. Not so. The subcontractor they use (BSJ Plumbing - see separate review) is unreliable when it comes to communication and quick scheduling. Even the employees at Lowes say they have problems sometimes. When I finally got ahold of the owner, he said he'd check on an install time and call me back. Well guess what? I'm still waiting for the callback. I drove to Lowes, loaded the water heater in my vehicle, got the extra parts and came home - now on day 5 with no hot water. I did a Yelp search for a plumber in my area, and Proskill was the first that came up with amazing reviews. It was a Saturday AM, so I wasn't confident it was going to be easy. I left a message and unfortunately, had to move on to the next call. That person said they could install. No sooner did I hang up, than Garrett from ProSkill called. I told him he was my first choice, but because it had been days with no hot water, I needed to find someone ASAP. He totally understood. Asked me some questions to make sure I had the right material and told me that if something should happen with the other company, to call him (even Saturday evening) and he'd see what he could do? So here's a guy who's not even going to be getting paid, making sure I have what I need with the right info, etc., and offering to come help anyway, if I need it.
