The vibe inside is nice. It's what you would expect from a trendy, aesthetic coffee shop: hip, aesthetic, and retro. We ordered the chai latte, cold brew with caramel and oat milk, and a slice of earl grey carrot cake. We added sweet coconut cold foam to both drinks. I was astonished to pay $19 for those 2 drinks and another $8 for a very small slice of cake. Chai latte- Found it to be okay...nothing super special about it. Cold brew- It reminded me of this specific sesame grain drink with barely any coffee taste. Could not finish. Carrot cake- It was moist and the frosting was good. No part of it tasted like earl grey imo. I would skip on the sweet coconut cold foam as it barely provides sweetness to your drink, which in turn, is not worth the additional cost. Overall, it was a nice place to cool down and the atmosphere was alright. The interior is aesthetic and well designed. Coffee is not really special and cake is good. I really enjoyed the pour over and they pulled a great shot of espresso. Cool ambience and I bought a bag of beans to take home. They do a good job roasting too. My gripe is that they use Minor Figures oatmilk which, in my opinion, ruins espresso-based drinks. I always ask what oatmilk is used before I order. Do a blind taste test against oatly...trust me. Been meaning to stop in here for a while, I see it a lot when I come to Park Circle with my kids. Got in here today, I had an Americano snd s banana blueberry muffin, and he had a coffee and cookie. Just as a heads up, this is a plant based place so no dairy is available for the coffees and the menu will also be a touch limited. That said, it's nice that there is an option for those who are strict about having no animal products in or around their food. My Americano was totally fine and normal, a touch acidic but they usually are. My kid liked his coffee but he's not old enough to have much coffee sophistication. I got caught in the rain in Charleston and on the way out of that, I made a stop into Prophet Coffee. It is soooo cute inside. It's a garage turned into a coffee shop and roaster. There is a decent amount of space to come with a group, it's a little awkward as just one person hanging out. It's pretty chill and I liked it. The menu is not expansive, but what is there covers just about anything you might want. I got the coconut cold brew. It's not too coconut forward, but it's very smooth and the coffee flavor comes through nicely. I put a vanilla cold foam on top. It's not super sweet, but it didn't feel like it needed more either. They had two options for snacks (both muffins). I decided not to try today, but they are both vegan options (possibly gluten free as well). I was intrigued by a matcha that would be mixed with grapefruit jarritos. It's a seasonal drink so I may have to come back soon to try that out. I was also pleased that they have lavender (I love lavender). I believe the owners wife served me today. She is very knowledgeable about the menu and caffeine content (the coconut cold brew has a lot of caffeine). And it was not crowded today so the service was very quick. I did not realize that this was a vegan/plant-based cafe upon entering (maybe I knew when I put it on my list of places to visit and then forgot). But here it is, and it was really good. They have a choice of almond or oat milk for beverages, and they use a local oat milk brand which is of high quality. They also had a couple of pastries, and I went for a gluten-free muffin. The muffin was fluffy and moist; if anything it crumbled a little easier than most wheat-based items, but not so much as to make it hard to wolf down. It was a banana blueberry creation dusted with sugar on top, and thus was sweet and quite delicious. As such, it was good that I ordered a hojicha, a roasted tea beverage with a strong and bitter flavor to balance it out. They do a good hojicha, but plenty of other options were available. The place is attached to what looked like a home goods store. The coffee shop itself is just a little nook on the side of the building. There is a gravel outdoor seating area next to the building which is pleasant enough for those who want to stay. I would have been happy finding it anywhere, but particularly given that Charleston is not known for its vegan food, this is a place to know. read more

I've seen the owner of this tiny import van working on it in his driveway for months and wondered what his plan was. It turns out he was building a mobile coffee shop on wheels! I saw a post on a local FB group that he was launching his soft opening so I decided to stop by that morning. He's currently doing 7am-3pm on certain days so check social media for updated hours. He's located on Spruill Ave in front of where Ink Meets Paper was and directly to the right of Nippitatty Distillery. He was easy to find and when I pulled up I was the only one there so I got to chat with the owner for a minute. His name is Bryson and he's going to be popping up his mobile coffee shop in the Park Circle neighborhood. He's using Valor brand coffee and was selling locally made mini muffins as a snack that were vegan and gluten free. It sounds like his whole operation might be vegan but don't quote me on that for sure. He has hot and cold coffee options as well as espresso or drip. My Coconut Cold Brew coffee was delicious and not very sweet which is what I prefer. I'm looking forward to checking out more of the menu and the renovation he did on this sweet van. When he opens the back you can see all the storage for water and the machines he has set up and it's quite impressive to fit into such a tiny space. Go check out this mobile cafe asap! read more

Prophet Coffee has quickly become one of my favorite places to grab a coffee for a few reasons, but I'm especially obsessed with their to-go cups. They use these reusable plastic cups with lids that come with a little cover to prevent spills--they look like sippy cups! I just hand wash mine, I use them all the time. If you bring the cup back, I think you get a discount on your drink (don't quote me on that, though). The atmosphere is great. The outside area is super cute, with big umbrellas and chairs that are perfect for chatting, or you can sit inside to get some work done. The indoor space is a bit limited, but if you get there early enough, it's manageable. I've been ordering their matcha, all drinks are fully plant based which is good. Parking can be a tad limited but if you find a spot it's totally worth it. I definitely recommend it! read more

I love this unique concept! Bryson is so great and makes a delicious cup of coffee. I've had the carob coffee, coconut cold brew with oat milk and the chai latte (iced). All were really great in flavor and definitely gave me the caffeine jump I needed. The prices are very reasonable and it's quickly ready.
