I really wanted to give this place 5 stars--and honestly, I still might for the coffee alone. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the overall vibe and space are super inviting. It's the kind of spot you want to hang out in. The coffee is where they truly shine, rich, smooth, and tons of flavor options (including sugar-free, which I love). They also have a great variety of milk choices, so it's easy to customize exactly what you want. Unfortunately, the ham and cheese croissant was a big letdown. It was extremely greasy so much so that the paper it came in was completely soaked. When I went to take a bite, there was a strong, almost chemical smell that didn't resemble fresh baked pastry or ham at all. I tried to give it a chance, but the taste matched the smell and I just couldn't finish it. For $7, it was disappointing, and I ended up throwing it away. I had already left by the time I realized how bad it was, so I didn't get the chance to ask for a replacement, but based on that experience, I'd probably skip the pastries in the future. That said, I'll definitely still come back for the coffee, it's genuinely great. Just hoping the food side improves! read more

I visited for the first time today and ordered an "Americano" with light cream, light water and whipped cream. Upon receiving the drink which was prepared by a friendly young woman I tasted a few sips and found the drink was too heavy on the cream and the dairy was not agreeing with me. I returned to the counter and explained the situation to the woman wearing a T-shirt and baseball cap and she was extremely rude. She told me we made the drink "to order" we can't take it back I was actually wanting to switch the drink to a "Shot in the dark" a drink that cost half the price of the "Americano" I originally ordered, (but didn't contain the cream). She seemed argumentative and questioned me wanting to add whipped cream to the new drink that I requested. She stated "Whipped cream is dairy" She proceeded to charge me for the second drink even though I was unable to drink the first drink. Her customer service was extremely poor. I tried to support a local coffee spot however the well known "coffee chains" would have respected their customer and simply replaced or remade the drink to one they could actually enjoy. The interior appeared clean and there were chairs and areas along the wall to sit and sip. They sell both savory snacks like croissants and sweet snacks like muffins. read more

The staff were so sweet! They let me try their caramel‑honey sweet foam with my matcha latte, which turned out delicious. I also love how spacious the coffee shop is, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. They do have free Wi‑Fi; however, be aware that the connection is so secure that I couldn't log into a few websites, which was understandable given how severe hacking is. Overall, I highly recommend Brew! It's a perfect spot to enjoy coffee while working or studying. read more

I was skeptical on trying this place due to some low and questionable reviews. But I was in the Hanahan area and decided to give it a shot. First impressions are important and I gotta say this coffee spot nails it with the right vibes! It's large, well laid out, and feels like a real coffee shop should...welcoming. I do wish the staff matched the aesthetics and vibes as they do not seem very happy to be there or approachable. That may just be their demeanor and possibly do not mean to project that way but when you walk into a place like this which appears to be a coffee first spot you expect warm and welcoming staff. I would expect staff like that at Starbucks but not at a local spot like this. With that my Cortado was great and I will definitely be back to try more of their coffee next time I am in the area. read more

Brew is one of my favorite coffee shops to visit in the Charleston area. The drinks are always good, they offer a good selection of pastries and pre-prepped food items, and (best of all) they have tons of seating. My writing group meets here about every other month, because there is consistently comfortable seating avaialable for us to sit and write together. The service is always wonderful. In fact, when they forgot to hand me my drink for a few minutes during one visit, they were incredibly apologetic and asked if I would like anything else to make up for it. I wasn't worried about the wait, but they were. What really sets Brew apart is their option to purchase a flight of coffee or mimosas. I've never had a latte flight that I actually enjoyed until now! I always love the concept but I usually end up with 4 watered down coffees. That was not the case here! All of the flavors I tried I would have enjoyed in a large size! With a wide variety of flavors, there's something for everyone. The cookie dough and the banana pudding were PHENOMENAL! Stopped in on a hot summer day for an Oceania and an oatmeal cookie. Service was fast and friendly. Cookie was huge, not too sweet, and not too greasy/buttery/oily which I appreciate. Inside is very spacious and decorated in farmhouse industrial, and there is outdoor seating as well, much of it covered. In addition to the usual coffee house items, they serve wines, ice cream, and I believe beer. The iced mocha wasn't my favorite, the coffee was was a touch acidic, I barely tasted the mocha flavor at all, but at least it wasn't sickly sweet or a coffee milkshake like some places will do. A fair amount of power outlets and not an ear melting soundtrack (actually really liked the music in here, very modern stuff without having lyrics to distract) make it a suitable place to open a laptop and get some work done. Pricing felt very fair, just under $10 for. Monster cookie and a drink, though the drink could have been a smidge larger. I've been meaning to come out here for years ever since I heard and saw some dazzling coffee flight photos. Brew is spacious, hospitable, and has a little something for everyone from coffee to wine. They provide not just coffee flights but mimosa and beer flights as well. The coffee flight itself was an absolute delight - the lady asked if I wanted to be surprised and I'm glad she offered because there's so much flavors to choose from!! The lineup they had was comprised of some all-star flavors, all were delish but if I had to pick, the cookies n' cream stood out the most. Brew is a little bit out of my way, but worth the drive (would love to Brew 2.0 open in goose creek/Nexton/Summerville area!!). I sometimes end up at Tanner Plantation for the grocery store or vet and always wondered where Brew was. I knew it was close by, but hadn't Identified it until a few months ago when I went looking. You have to drive into the neighborhood and it's there next to Nigel's Good Food. I still haven't tried the flights they're known for, but everything I have had has been great. The coffee is great and I enjoy the yogurt parfaits as an alternative to a pastry. They have a ton of space so you could definitely get some work done here and they have free wifi too. I think I saw that they have spent grounds to use for your own compost at home for free. Definitely check this place out. read more

Brew really does have a special place in my heart. It has an amazing variety of drinks that never disappoint. I usually get a iced coffee with turtle cheesecake and caramel syrup and it's always a 10/10. (Def try it out!) but today I wanted something different. I opted for a iced matcha with oak milk and wow!! Super refreshing. I'm not sure if I had a bit of cinnamon in it because it had a similar taste. You can indeed taste the oak milk! The matcha wasn't too powerful. Service was super quick! Got my drink within five minutes of me ordering. Overall, such a good drink. Love Brew! read more

The place is adorable and I want to love this spot so much but every time we have gotten coffee it hasn't been good. We have tried almost 10 beverages and I thinking the tamping is off. They have all sorts of flavors, and same for mimosas too. Turkey and Cheese Croissant: They warm it up for you. I thought the croissant was fluffy and nice, but the cheese and turkey were a little dry and hard. Coffee Flight: I got Butter Pecan, Hazelnut, Almond Roca, and Creme de Menthe flavors. I didn't take pictures of the outside but it is just as pleasing! I was so excited to try the coffee flights & the barista explained how they worked to me. Everything comes iced, with lattes you choose your milk and flavors & they add whip cream/toppings. I went with Pumpkin Pie Sweet Cream Cold Brew, Apple Latte, Toasted Marshmallow Latte, and Pumpkin Latte! At first I was disappointed in the Pumpkin Latte until I got to the bottom, the flavor was amazing! After that, I swirled each drink before tasting. I am a barista and I make my own syrups at home, so I'm usually very picky! They pull the shots nicely and the syrups are delicious! I honestly couldn't pick a favorite. I love going back to Hanahan and seeing new things each time. This trip we decided to go here to start our day off right with a mimosa flight and light snacks. They have a wide selection of flavors to pick from for your mimosas and features local bakery goods and dishes for purchase. I got the Gouda and Bacon quiche and it was amazing. They also have specialty coffees for sale like, Cookie Dough, so if you aren't in the mood to drink then I would recommend giving their coffee a go. The staff was friendly and attentive. I've been to Brew a few times now. The first time I did the coffee flight and was impressed. The 16 ounces you get throughout the four cups is cheaper than my Starbucks drink and I got a variety, so that was nice. They have a ton of sugar free options to choose from. I am a big fan of their iced lattes and cold brew. They have a drive through window which makes it very convenient when you have a tiny human in the backseat who will ask for everything they see if you go inside. Their croissants are superb. Buttery and delicious and the filled ones are fantastic. I've tried the ham and cheese and the roast beef one. Brew has been on my radar for awhile because I love flights, but it was kind of out of the way. I finally made it up there with a friend and it will be our new meet up for fun or homework! Definitely was quiet enough to focus on work, but large enough where we could have a conversation without bothering other people. I absolutely love going to Brew! It is so convenient for the Bowen area residents, especially with it being within walking/ go-carting distance to most of us! I always order an oat milk and caramel latte, which is always great. Tried the flights at Brew and they were super original and a different experience for sure. My favorites were English Toffee then Cookie Dough. Toasted marshmallow and cheesecake also decent. Only area for improvement is less ice since it made it a little hard to drink with ice constantly hitting your teeth. Board had so many more flavors to try so definitely will be going back. Friends of mine have posted about Brew and their coffee flights so much that I was feeling some major FOMO. I finally stopped in after grocery shopping at Lowe's and I can see why they're hooked! They have a huge list of flavor options and so many combinations it'll make your head spin. They've got something to get you through your workday (caffeine!) and something to celebrate the end of the day (beer and wine!). They had little bites to tide you over as well. I got a scone and wish I had them heat it up as they offered to; it was good but not great. Their location is pretty convenient and they're smack dab in the middle of a bustling, currently-worked-on neighborhood. I tried their iced latte and it was weak. They have a summer menu, check the photo for the details. I wanted to try their mixed berry matcha but it isn't a purée but syrup so I didn't. They have some cool flavours like toasted marshmallow but if you don't like too sweet, ask for less. They have a lot of syrup options, which isn't too up my alley but a fun alternative. Their coffee is roasted at King Bean Roasters in Charleston. They also have some coffee beans for purchase, including decaf options. The service was great and I got my drink very quickly.
