EVO Craft Bakery is CUTE! From the products they create to their customer service to their decor outside and inside, this bakery is fantastic. You can tell that this is a beloved neighborhood gem who is proud to serve their customers! So what did we try... Pistachio Pastry (wish I could recall the name) Truly, I just wanted more of the delicious pistachio filling that rested in its center lol. So, I guess that tells you how I felt about it! ;D Blueberry Cream Danish Unfortunately, I blinked and this was gone. So, I guess that tells you how everyone felt about it. ;) Everything Bagel Croissant I grabbed this for my husband who loved it enough to not offer me a bite. So, I guess that tells you how he felt about it. ;D Bacon Cheddar Croissant I grabbed this for my brother who also loved it enough to not offer me a bite. So, I guess that tells you how he felt about it. ;) Honestly, if I had not already eaten. I would have grabbed another croissant for myself. They were big, full and easy on the eyes. I'd also totally grab a loaf if I lived in town. I'm still dreaming about how stunning the bread smelled when we walked into the bakery!

    Almond croissant, iced mocha latte

I popped in on my way to my girlfriend's place, I wanted a coffee and they were open and not Starbucks. I had the iced mocha latte and an almond croissant. The latte was very smooth, had milk but wasn't super creamy, I tasted the mocha but it wasn't very sweet. Likewise, the almond croissant had a really nice flaky texture, a buttery taste, and I could really taste the almond paste, but it was more of a true almond paste than a sweet marzipan like these often are. Kudos to EVO for a more mature flavor profile that wasn't just a coffee flavored milkshake. The service was fast and friendly, and there is a really nice outdoor eating area. Parking is a little tough, but it was Friday evening in Park Circle. Pricing was a bit high by my standards, but as I like to say, "price sets expectations" and the high prices set an expectation that I felt was met. Would gladly return when in the area or make a special trip out here to relax and get some work done. J.Ja

They have 4 savory and four sweet croissants among their goodies!

Craft Bakery is a gem in Park Circle. They have savory and sweet goodies. Their specialty coffees are delicious too. Love the patio on sunny days!

Cute little spot in downtown North Charleston - their cappuccinos are really good and pastries all tasted very fresh! I think they only had outdoor seating so definitely would recommend it as a nice spot on the patio on a nice day! Next time we go, we'll plan to ask if they can warm up the pastries as ours were room temp

Stopped in after leaving the pizza shop. The smell of fresh baked bread is awesome. The servers behind the counter weren't very attentive. One was busy showing the other something on her phone while we were at the register. They have outside seating on a covered patio. Nice laid back setting.

Now that I can walk here I probably go once a week... sometimes more. I love stopping in on a weekend to grab coffee and pastries to sit on the patio and enjoy. I love all the pastries, but my favorite as of late is the lemon scone. I generally had written off scones as being too dry and dense, but this one is the best I've ever had. I have tried the rosemary one too but the lemon takes the cake... or scone for me. If I get there in time to snag one and a iced latte, I just know it's gonna be a good day. My other favorite evo activity is grabbing bread on the way home for dinner. A fresh baguette from evo just can't be beat when it comes to bread from any store nearby. They're currently doing pretzels on Sunday evenings which are great and I'm looking forward to trying the weekend breakfast sandwiches too. Plus they have sandwiches, rotating small plate menus, and great desserts too. For such a small place, they have so much to offer.

SO DELICIOUS + WONDERFUL SERVICE. Butterscotch Honey Macchiato (plus 4 shots) + Cold Brew

Okay. This was the BEST coffee experience I've had, and the interior was so elegant and cute. The two lovely creatures at the front with the very cool piercings CURATED my little caffeinated adventure and took plenty of time helping me choose between the Chai tea and the Macchiato. Thank you. I am so indecisive but I absolutely loved the way they explained what an Italian Macchiato is. I was recommended a Honey + Butterscotch flavor instead of a (cough starbucks) Caramel -- and I truly loved it. Thanks for experimenting with me. I wish I could visit again tomorrow before we leave-- but hello from the NoVA-DC area!

Tucked right behind EVO Pizzeria (which is also another great place), I would say this café/bakery is underrated! There are limited indoor seating but they have a great outdoor patio. The staff are friendly and wonderful. They seem to have a good working team. I ordered a cappuccino, arugula and provolone croissant, and meat quiche. Everything tasted great. The croissant was very flaky on the outside, but soft and buttery in the inside. I do wish there were a little more arugula in my croissant, but that's just personal preference. The quiche was my favorite. They heated it up for me and it was creamy and cheesy. Great place to grab a quick to-go coffee, chat with friends, and bring dogs as well!

After dinner sweet tooth fulfillment spot! Evo's Bakery is a great spot to satisfy the sweet tooth of anyone. Their fresh made treats and great prices can really test your willpower. Dropped in with friends after dinner. It was hopping on a Friday evening. Small and quaint yet pleasant and friendly. Be sure to drop by when you're in the area.

I ordered the fried pork chops with 2 sides. The pork chop breading was falling off and was kind of wet with the grease but it was edible. The mashed potatoes were cold but the taste itself was just weird in general, not sure if warming it up would have changed it. The gravy was sweet but the mashed potato had a strong maybe garlic flavor that did not balance out with the gravy. The baked beans had an off taste but was still edible. The sweet tea was great! Overall, maybe it was just a really bad day like the waitress told us before we ordered. I hope so because everything besides the food was good. Unfortunately, I came for the food so most of the stars lost was from that.

We (my wife and I) visited Southern Roots in the Park Circle are, and we were not impressed. Service was good, whomever brought the "other part'" of our appetizer was apologetic at the same time she made exceptions (aka excuses). We sat outside on the patio, but that was antithetical. The patio was unkept. Cutting to the chase...food was acceptable and service was average. Considering my previous experience at another location, I would think twice about expectations.

It's a great trendy location on the edge of Park Circle, conveniently has a small parking lot in addition to street parking and a tiny city lot close by, woman owned, and decorated super warm and inviting. So I really really wanted to like this place. Maybe it was the day I chose to go. I used YELP to reserve a spot on the waitlist, and met a friend for brunch before going into Highwater. Maybe they were unusually slammed. I ordered a Buzzed Donut, coffee rubbed bacon, with an over-easy egg on a pop biscuit doughnut with a side of shredded hashbrowns & mocha dip. Sounds amazing and unique! But the one I was served was burnt, hard, and had obviously been sitting under some heat too long and was past the point of being served. I politely brought it to my server's attention both dark coloring, hard texture, and burnt taste were affected, and while she did inquire, the answer was that it was the last one so a re-order was not an option. I was not trying to make a stink to my server or make my friend late to the festival, and they couldn't rush a new item, so I ate around the hard/burnt part politely. When the bill came, the server informed me she took 15 percent off that item. Everyone has off days, and I really wanted to like this place but the more I think about it the crazier it is to think I paid 85 percent of a meal that shouldn't have been served. When I worked in food service, I would have never served an item in this condition. I would have simply apologized that I didn't realize the kitchen was out, taken the item off the bill, and brought a replacement item or dessert at no charge. I had excitedly announced it was my first time trying this place when the server first introduced herself, and I'm just disappointed it wasn't 100 percent wonderful.

The outdoor area is huge and inviting, with plenty of space to spread out and relax. We especially loved sinking into the comfortable rocking chairs, the perfect place to kick back with a drink in hand. The overhangs and fans kept everything cool and breezy, which made hanging outside even more enjoyable on a warm day. One of our favorite features was the outdoor ordering window. It's so convenient, especially if you're visiting with your pup--you never have to leave them behind just to grab another round. The whole place has a fun, welcoming vibe with great music setting the tone. While we didn't sample the food this time, it was definitely tempting, and it's nice to know it's available if you want to make an afternoon of it. Drink-wise, Commonhouse nails it. While beer is their specialty (and they have a solid selection), they also offer a frozen drink and a few seltzers for those who prefer something a little different. And for the pups? They've thought of that too, with outdoor water stations so your dog can stay refreshed right alongside you. All in all, it's a truly pet-friendly spot with a laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer. It's quickly become one of our favorite places to relax and enjoy Charleston with Luna by our side.
