Love me some Proof! Hands-down one of the best restaurants in the Tricities. The staff is always friendly, funny and helpful. Food is spot-on; you always will be able to satisfy whatever you may be craving at the time. The last time I went there I had the salmon w/ veggies and coconut rice... I die! Cocktails. Ohhh the cocktails! The whiskey sour and margarita are my personal favorites. Lastly, the vibe of the restaurant is one of a kind for the TC! The bar is a site to see, cool/hip vibe, grand booths for larger parties, and even a private room located at the top of the restaurant which you can rent out! Oh, and don't forget about their patio...can it be summer yet?? I really do love this place and so glad to see local restaurant popping up in the TC! Go check em out! read more

Not only is the food fresh, creative and flawless but the service is stellar. We had someone with complex food allergies and everyone - chef, server, bartender - went out of their way to accommodate the allergies. As a bonafide nacho snob their pork nachos are probably hands down the best I've ever had. We got lucky coming in after 9 when they no longer serve entrees, we instead ordered the fried calamari (amazing) the wings and the nachos. Rude people. We Stood at front entrance by the desk where it's says "wait to be seated"for several minutes. Total non issue except while waiting to be acknowledged several employees walked by us and ignored us. Again not an issue because I understand it can be busy. Then 2 women walk up and stand behind us waiting as well. Finally someone shows up to greet us and direct us to a table, (except they didn't). Instead they greated the 2 women behind us and totally ignored my date and I. No explanation as to why and they didn't even come back to tell us when we might get a table. We just stood there completely ignored for a few more minutes then finally left. Patrick swazey said it best, "Nobody puts baby in a corner"! Don't waste your time with this place. read more

I expected better. Since moving here from Tacoma a year ago, this place has attracted me. So yesterday, we went there for lunch. The place wasn't busy, but it took about twenty five minutes to get our lunch, but we were looking forward to a good meal. My wife ordered fish and chips and I ordered pork belly tacos. The fish was cooked to a very dark brown. Obviously, part of our waiting was that the cooks lost track of time when deep frying the fish. My tacos looked beautiful, but the pork belly was stringly and tough. After our meal I asked our waitress if the fish we're usually cooked that well done. Her answer was " I don't know.". Really? The waitress should have never accepted the fish from the kitchen. If she came and told us that the fish was accidentally over cooked, we would have gladly waited. We will give it one more try. Hopefully, I will be able to give it a rave reviews then. read more

This place was a nice little find. I love the uniqueness of the second floor location and the trendy decor. Best cosmopolitan I've ever had and the steamer clams were cooked to perfection. Tasted like a dish I would get in an upscale coastal restaurant. The wait staff were friendly, and knowledgeable about the dishes and drinks. The restrooms and dining room were both very clean. However after 5ish minutes of sitting waiting to be served or even given menus at that. But in comes about two different parties and they were given menu's almost immediately. We had such high hopes... but we were sorely disappointed. We started out with drinks, mine was good, my husband couldn't drink his. Ordered a different drink, watered down. Appetizers came, ordered the chicken nachos and wings. Nachos came out with no chicken and the smallest dusting of cheese I could imagine. The wings flavor was spot on, but who likes soggy chicken wing skins. The waitress was good. She had the nachos remade for us. So props for that. I had the clams, good for the most part but several were full of sand. And fish and chips that were ordered at our table were covered in a batter that was still doughy. No crunch to it at all. My husband got the proof burger, which his only wish is that it would have had a hand formed party. My friend ordered the wedge salad, the bacon on it was basically raw and inedible. We will go back, this summer and give it another go... hopefully the bugs have been worked out. read more

I live on Yelp reviews! Atmosphere, on point! Menu, on point! Presentation, on point. Customer service??? We were a table of 6. Walking in there made you feel like you were somewhere pretty exclusive. Lighting was not too dark, vibe was there. Ordered a stout and 2 rum and cokes, can't mess that up. Our friends got there before we did so they ordered before we got there and in the normal procession of things got their food first, which everything coming out look and smelled amazing. We had a variety of items off the menu on the table. Burgers, pork belly tacos, chicken sandwich (not just a regular chicken sandwich) and clams! As food was rolling out , excitement was building and then the clams... It was beautifully plated and the sauce was amazing but where were the clams? Granted they were micro sized and not a whole lot to savor, there were quite a bit of empty shells before I actually was able to enjoy one. Half of my plate had empty shells. I didn't eat anymore because I wanted to make sure there was PROOF (ha, ha)that those shells were empty before the manager was called over. Called the waiter over and we asked for the manager. Mind you, there were drinks on the table but none were mine. I wanted the manger there to rectify the situation so we can proceed with our night. Before the the waiter got the manager he wanted to know if there was a problem to why we were calling for the manager. Anyway, we told him there were no clams, here a plate of what was empty. So he took the main plate away with what was in the shells. There may have been confusion but he brought it back with manager in tow and said well the look like they were all there. We showed him the plate of empties and the manager assured us the shells had clams in it and he didnt know where else they could have been if they weren't down in the bottom of my plate. I checked for them before I sent them back and they were not on the bottom of my plate. He seemed a little reluctant and didn't really offer a solution other give me the feeling that I was going to pay for it even if I didnt have any but he did put in another order and nearly all had clams. Our waiter checked back on us but the manager did not. We still tipped our waiter as for he was not the one preparing our meal. I hate sending things back or complain but it was an easy $200 table and it could of been more. I even had a chef at the table with me that said the experience could have better if sending the dish back went without a hitch. Customers are always right even when they're wrong but this customer wasn't wrong. I was so excited for PROOF and love supporting local businesses but not with a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Great addition to the Tri-Cities food scene. Proof has an extremely diverse menu which means there's something for all tastes. All of the options made it difficult to decide but I settled on the Signature Proof Burger and crab cakes. The food was really good, though not as 'gastropub' as I expected. I had the fried chicken sandwich and was very happy though the jalapeño cole slaw was lacking a bit. My boyfriend got the harissa clams which were tasty but not a lot of them for a meal, prices were decent in my opinion for the quality of food. I wanted to provide an update from my last review. Michael from Proof did reach out to me to get specific feedback which was great and I see that he took the feedback and improved on their service! We went back last Friday afternoon. There were many people sitting inside and a table with a family outside. I sat in the balcony for maybe 10 minutes then a server came by. He asked if I had been help and I said not yet and he apologize but I was waiting for my friend anyhow. He brought a glass of water and menu. The server was attentive and he actually brought me the wrong glass of wine. He quickly apologized and corrected. My friend and I split a burger and he brought it out in 2 plates, split burger and fries which was nice. The food was great but that has never been the issue. The service has greatly improved from my last visit and we're really glad that it has since we love supporting local businesses. It'll be a place that we would go back again. Side note: They do not do happy hour on Friday and Saturday. read more

The drinks were horrible. They had to make one of our drinks 3 times and still could not make it right. And there were 4 of us and we all order something different and all the food was so gross. No flavor and the fries were cold (not warm just cold). I took a bite of my burger and it literally fell apart and had to eat it with a fork. 2 or 3 bites later I gave up. The other dish was fish and chips the batter was so soggy and gross that we had to take the battery off to get to the fish. Granted the fish itself was not too bad. The chicken wings were so fried that we literally would just chilling on bone. And for $16 you get to half dollar size crab cakes. The crab was overcooked and not worth $16. The crispy chicken sandwich is exactly what it was crispy no flavor and overcook with a soggy bun. I would highly recommend not wasting your time. This place is overpriced and overrated. I was so disappointed and lost my appetite. Please avoid this place you're better off going to Carl's jr. or Red Robin for a quarter of the price. read more

Went to Proof Oct 16th while in Tri-Cities. Great view of the city on the 3rd floor, our waiter was awesome and recommended the Pickled Chicken after I asked him about it, my husband had a BLT and we both had Truffle Fries. Food was absolutely delicious. We weren't crazy about the decor it was cold and industrial and the only reason I'm dropping one star is the music was too loud. If it weren't for that one thing we'd definitely go back. read more

The menu was disappointing and the food is just average. I'm not sure why so many good reviews. I had the firecracker salmon--nothing worth remembering. The crab cakes were gluey and bland, the sauce could have helped out but it was disappointingly bland as well. My friend had some decent fish and chips. Its just really average "gastropub" food. The aesthetics are lacking but at least they are trying. The black matte and the bar is nice but overall the decor is bland and there is little attention to detail. They have a start and I applaud them for that. But they need a new eye. As for the views--the view is of Carl Jrs. This place would make a much better bar. There is limited seating and there is no reason to wait for boring food in an average restaurant. People were standing because they wanted to have a drink at the bar and there are a total of 4 chairs at the bar. Advice--rethink this as a nice upscale bar. We need one here. I love the atmosphere. Its very modern and chìc. Great for a date night. Took a while for our waitress to take our order, but she seemed new and nervous and she did tell us all the specials so that was nice. We ordered the guac and chips for an appetizer and I wasnt pleased with it at all. Small portion and chips were not good. No salt & pepper on our table. Wanted to go here except the reservation policy is ridiculous. First, I was told they accept reservations for parties of six or more, great so, I gave them the date and was told "oh sorry we don't take reservations on Fridays or Saturdays." We are certain that the second mixed drink we got didn't have any alcohol in it which was a bummer given it was $11!
