Although I am always excited to see bakeries and patisseries enter the Phoenix market, I cannot in good faith write a positive review for Proof Bread. The morning bun (which was more akin to a cinnamon roll than a true morning bun) suffered from a dense and gummy crumb. Because I am not a baker, I cannot say for certain whether this was a result of undercooking the pastry or improper lamination/under-fermentation. Unfortunately, the croissant I received also had a gummy consistency, though the issue was not as pronounced. However, I appreciated the potency and tang of the sourdough. The recipe for Proof's croissant shows great promise. It shows they have some exceptional ideas. I sincerely hope they are able to overcome the various quality control issues and allow their creativity to shine. read more

Been a Proof customer for over the last two years. Their breads have all been amazing. Usually pick them up at the Uptown Farmers Market held every Saturday. Their sourdough croissants are absolutely exquisite especially if you are looking for something more savory versus sweet. If you ever catch their Rosemary Sea Salt Pretzel twists OMG so good!! I find if there is something special you are looking for, send them a note before the market or swinging past their store front as they can usually put something aside for you. If you are a breakfast sandwich fan like me, you NEED to try their English Muffins. Perfect with a good brown toast, some salty butter, and soft scrambled egg. read more

We have tried proof sourdough and twice baked almond croissants multiple times from uptown farmers mkt but did not have good experience at their Mesa location today. Ordered dirty chai, almond croissant (no twice baked available anymore) and morning bun. Dirty chai was lukewarm, served in a plastic cup and had no flavor, very over priced for what you get. The almond croissant had hardly any filling, the ones we have had before had tons. Morning bun also lacked flavor, hardly had any cinnamon filling. I am sure their bread is still amazing but the pastries we used to love are not the same anymore. read more

Very disappointed in your customer service. I emailed about an order I wanted to place for a birthday. I was instructed what I needed couldn't be delivered but could be picked up at the Mesa farmers market by placing the order online. I placed my order online and arrived for pickup only to find the wrong order was brought to the farmers market. The woman there was going to follow up with me for a credit and after waiting 3 weeks, I've heard nothing. I sent an email to your inbox that wasn't responded to. My friend in Australia shared Proof's Youtube channel with me a few months ago while discussing our love for sourdough bread. The next weekend I went to the Old Town Farmer's Market specifically to get my hands on some of their bread. My mom & I ended up buying more than just sourdough bread though because the croissants and Pain Au Chocolat looked SOOOO good and let me tell you- everything was incredible!! Just a few weeks ago they expanded their delivery range to my zip code and... I just ate an entire baguette. I have no regrets. I will probably have to head to market on Saturday because there's no way I can last until next Thursday without more baguette in my life. Proof is an absolute game changer. I have a love/hate relationship with Proof. their bread is great but I wish it would last a bit longer. had ordered delivery last tues. couldnt eat it fast enough and had gone bad already on Sunday (sandwich loaf). when i order (market and delivery) i then am on a bread binge as is so good, usually order both sourdough and sandwich. pastries though I am usually left wanting. have tried several - usually lacking in sweetness. ordered blueberry hand pies (love blueberry anything) and was disappointed. lemon in the filling took over so much there was little blueberry flavor. it needed a cream product (ice cream or whip cream) to sweeten. I don't like really sweet pastries but I think the dough sometimes tends to make items a bit less sweet. also tried plum pastry, chocolate crossiant and toaster pastry, too expensive to not love. read more
