For months, TikTok has been harassing me with videos of Pronto Café in Hialeah, claiming they have the King of Pan con Bistec. I kept scrolling thinking, Relax it's just a sandwich. Well. TikTok owes me an apology because they actually UNDERSOLD this thing. I live in Weston, about 45 minutes away, and today I happened to be working nearby. I called my wife and proudly announced, Don't cook! I'm bringing home the famous pan con bistec. Walked in spotless place, awesome people, fast service, and a supermarket right next door. Everything was going according to plan. Dropped my wife's lunch off, got back in the truck, and told myself, Be an adult you'll eat yours when you get to your next stop. That sandwich had other plans. It was sitting in the passenger seat smelling so good it felt like it was whispering. You ain't making it another mile, big boy. I tried ignoring it. Turned the radio up. Didn't work. Rolled the windows down. Didn't work. Started talking to myself. You're 50 something lol years old show some self-control. The sandwich said. Self-control? Not today. Then, because Florida likes to add drama to everything, the skies opened up and a biblical thunderstorm hit. Now picture this. One hand on the steering wheel. One hand holding the greatest pan con bistec known to mankind. Rain coming down sideways. Cars hydroplaning... Windshield wipers moving faster than a DJ scratching records. And me smiling like I just won the lottery because every bite was worth risking my dry cleaning bill. I was driving so slow people probably thought I was transporting grandma's wedding cake. Nope. I was protecting the sandwich. And let me tell you if that sandwich had fallen on the floor, we'd be having a state funeral. Now let's talk about the robbery. I got: Pan con bistec Steak, rice, beans & maduros Flan Two drinks FOR UNDER $30!! I looked at the receipt three times thinking somebody forgot to charge me for something. At today's prices, I expected them to say, That'll be $97.43. Instead, I almost asked if they needed a hug because those prices are unreal. If you're anywhere in South Florida Miami, Broward, Palm Beach, or Mars if Elon drops you off go to Pronto Café. Find my man on TikTok. Try the sandwich. Then come back and tell me I was wrong. Came for the now famous pan con bistec, ordered it as it comes with mayonnaise, a first for me. Was anxious to be wowed by the taste but didn't quite get there, it might not have been their day. Just a tad bit strange flavor, not the typical pan con bistec flavor, hard to describe. Service was friendly and efficient, parking is a challenge had to park on a side street. I went for their claim to fame the Pan con Bistec. It was perfect steak was seasoned very tastefully. The onions are the icing on the cake. Barely noticeable but, pack a lot of flavor. I'm late on this review but better late than never. Anyways I was in the mood for a pan con bistec but the cafe by me they have good food just not up to par with the pan con bistec. So I looked what's the best on Instagram many came up but Pronto was available on Uber Eats so that's what I want with and oh man was I satisfied. It came a little cold cause it was far away but I warmed it a little and I could only imagine how it would be if I got it there in person. The steak was perfectly seasoned and not chewy. I only came here because of the pan con bistec going viral on IG as the Best one in all of Miami. Needless to say it wasn't but it was good I wouldn't say the best. The food was decent and the staff were very inviting. I had the grilled chicken meal, one beef empanada, batido de trigo and one pan con bistec. These are all pretty much staple dishes growing up in Miami. Again, all were good just not the best. They do have potential to take it up a notch, but I respect where they're at and what they're trying to provide to the local community which is authentic Cuban food. read more

Believe the hype! Pronto Cafe at 86 W 29th Street in Hialeah is worth the Waze GPSing for us non-Hialeahians to get there. We ordered the Pan Con Bistec of course and we're not disappointed. The steak was tender, well seasoned with a citrusy marinade, with fresh fried potato sticks, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Perfectly pressed too so that the Cuban bread with toasted and crunchy. We also lucked out in spotting the jar of baseball sized Merenguitos (meringues to our gringo pals) that were a crispy sweet treat. The gals behind the counter were attentive and super sweet. This unassuming, neat little Cuban counter style joint has nothing to envy their over priced competitors. I personally tried the Pan Con Bistec at Sanguich on Calle Ocho and Pronto's is ten times better. Cheaper, bigger servings and freshly delicious. It's a win all the way around. read more

Run, don't walk to Pronto Cafe! Lately I've noticed a a lot of the traditional pan con bistec and pan con lechón spots haven't been as good as they used to. Pronto Cafe saved us and graced us with delicious Cuban staples. We had the pan con bistec and pan con lechón. They are known for the best pan con bistec in Hialeah and honestly, as someone who has probably tried the majority of them, they really are the best. The steak is so soft and breaks off when you bite into it (we've all experienced a steak that's so hard you can't bite through!). It is seasoned to perfection and you taste it with every bite. The bread is also so soft on the inside and the perfect amount of crunch/toast on the outside. The pan con lechón is also absolutely delicious. The seasoning, the softness of the pork, and the freshness are phenomenal. My sister said they should also name the pan con lechón as best in Hialeah and I agree! I wish I would've taken more photos (and better than the one I took) but I was too excited to start eating when I saw and smelled them lol! As a Cuban girly who needs her sandwich fixes pretty often, I know I'll be going to Pronto from now on! read more

Listen up. If you are expecting a restaurant or a waitress - this is not the place for you. This is a dive - a true Hialeah experience. Clean establishment with hardworking people, nice clean bathrooms, great a/c nice, nice ladies working behind the counter- nonstop, and, still with a good attitude. Parking is limited because it's in a shopping strip. Be patient. Order your food at the register- pay, give your name and any one of the ladies will bring it to your table. The place is small, 6 tables of 4 and one long table for 8. This place serves up good cuban comfort food- look up their menu online. Pan con bistec is what they are known for. It was good enough to have again but not the best I've had. Also tried the plain chicken wings- again, good and crispy but no big deal. Next time, I will order the cuban pizza- I have never tried a Cuban pizza. Kudos to you Pronto- hasta pronto! read more

I finally stopped by to try the pan con bistec and judge for myself what the rave is all about. While I waited I got to speak with the owner, super nice guy. The place was clean and, from what I saw, the staff were very nice to every customer that walked in. The place doesn't have much ventilation so just be prepared for your clothes to smell like food. They claim to have the best "Pan con Bistec" and I dare say they do! There is limited seating as it is a cafe, but regardless the service was excellent. We live by Doral so it is pretty much of our way, however it is worth the drive. read more

I never leave reviews... I came across this spot last week on my TikTok, I happened to be in the area for work today... I stopped in, and boy am I glad I did. This pan con bistec is phenomenal, best I've ever had! This spot is worth the hype! Service was great, it took a little time as it should and I think the owner was there. There were some customers waiting and I think the owner realized they were waiting a little longer than usual, and he came out greeted them and apologized for the wait. This spot is definitely worth it and be patient I think they are starting to get really busy bc of social media.. it's worth it and I think it was pretty quick service in my opinion. I decided to order from your restaurant based on all the wonderful reviews I had heard. To start off with at 9:30 AM today. My daughter began to call your location and was put on hold for over five minutes. She decided to hang up and call back when she called back they told her that you were very busy that she would have to put the order online. Needless to say she explained to the employee that the order was for a pick up. It was not for delivery. Your employee continued to say to place the order online, even if it was for pick up. My daughter ended up using the online app, which to my surprise when I got the bill realized that each sandwich was costing over two dollars more only because I had to go through a third-party. I find a ridiculous and totally unnecessary. I called your location. Spoke to the girl at the phone. Explain what happened and she denied having said that to my daughter and that there was no one else there that could've said that to her. This first experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth. The sandwich was OK. I gave it a 7 out of 10, but the service not acceptable. I don't see a reason to have to go through a third-party to place an order that is going to be picked up. I was trying to decide on drinks and she told me that she could keep the tab open while I decide. The food was amazing!!!! We had the Cuban and bistec sandwich. Both delicious.
