Here's where the Above & Beyond comes in. I dropped 8 of my husband's shirts on Tuesday for a Friday pick-up by 5:00pm. He was flying out Saturday at 5:00am for his company's big 6-day annual conference - his most important work trip of the year. WELL, Friday comes around, and we got snow, meaning many businesses in the area were closed... including Super Cleaners. *Enter utter panic*. I texted the Super Cleaners number, asking if there's any way we could collect the shirts and explain the situation - thinking it's more than a long shot. To my surprise, the owner responds not to worry - he'll make it happen. *Enter a flood of relief.* He had to drive to the plant to get half the order, and to the store to get the other half, AND dropped it all off AT our house - we didn't even have to drive to the store. I can't explain how grateful we were. And, the shirts looked perfect! As working parents, life is extremely busy, but of course we learned our lesson to give ourselves more wiggle room in the future! Finally, I brought said shirts to Chevy Chase Valet and shared my sob story with John. He asked some questions, looked at the shirts individually and exuded sufficient confidence to make me decide--okay, let's try ONE more time. He told me to come back on Friday or Saturday. Well, I happened to be driving by on Friday and decided to stop in. The shirts were not only done...they were amazing. The collars looked brand new; the cuffs were clean; these looked like shirts I would be excited to wear again. The price was about 50% of what I paid at Georgetown Valet and the value I received was worth about 5000% the amount I got at the other place. I've been using Woodmont Cleaners for pick-up and delivery cleaning for five years, and I've been very pleased every time. I initially started using them because other local dry cleaners were charging way too much for pick-up and delivery (I'm talking about you, Bergman's), and because they offer cleaning with more environmentally-friendly methods. The only difference in clothes cleaned this way is how they smell when they're done -- traditional dry-cleaning smells awful to me, like gasoline, but with Woodmont's methods, every article of clothing smells only faintly like real cedar, and nothing else. Over the years, I've had many, many high-quality women's silk blouses cleaned (stains successfully removed, natural shell buttons well-taken care of, hung on hangers with shoulder protectors). In addition, I've had them wash king-size cotton quilts, men's and women's pants, fine cashmere sweaters, camel's-hair overcoats, all with professional results and quick turnaround. When I call in for a pick-up, they immediately know from my phone number on their caller ID who I am and where to pick up. They promptly pick up, take care of my clothes, and bring them back in beautiful condition. Nothing has ever been lost. No fuss, no muss. Everyone I've dealt with on the phone has always been efficient and polite, and price is moderate for the area, given the quality and the degree to which I can trust them to do things right!
