Project Seed has a unique business model for coffee that I have never seen before. Think "milkman" but for cold brew coffee. You can put in an order online and you can have as much fresh cold brewed coffee delivered to your doorstep as you desire. I must say I am very impressed with the hard work ethic of the owner Erene, every time I scroll down Instagram (@projectseedcoffee) I see her hustling to get her creative cold brew flavors out to the masses at various pop-up events where it be at farmers markets, breweries, or in front of my very own Alma Mater, Old Dominion University. Now let's talk more about those creative flavors. Sea Salt Caramel, a "Christmas in July" Peppermint white chocolate, a "Black is Beautiful" Juneteenth flavor, and an Ube flavor. What's the cold "brew"haha about with project seed coffee??! First and foremost her cold brew is deliciously fantastic without the high acidity and with a very clean fresh taste that won't leave you feeling nasty and abused from a caffeine crash. For those that didn't know such as myself. I was dropped some 411 on the cold brew process and the fact that it's less acidic than regular coffee. Win win!! She does a variety of flavors and some special flavors that can only be found at market pop ups. I ordered the honey lavender, almond coconut dream, cold brew AF/affogato and cold plain brew in half gallons (64 oz) each. Her cold brew doesn't have that bitter taste. It's naturally sweet no sugar added and easy on the G.I. no lie!! It's a quality product well packaged! Just be sure to get your order in by Wednesday or Thursday afternoon to receive your free delivery within a 15 mile radius from SLH with a 3 bottle minimum to your front door! Cold brew thru people! I love everything about Project Seed Coffee! There's just nothing that can compare to the flavorful deliciousness that it is! Okay let's start with the Pumpkin Maple Spice. Wow! 5 stars! Love the Fall season vibe , the tones of flavor that pop. It's a whole entire experience. Okay , next the Pandan Milk Tea , this is the go-to flavor, you just can't go wrong, it's frickin delicious! It's packed with savory and sweet notes. You just have to try it! Last, but not least, I love their story,Erene the business owner is such an amazing , passionate, personable , fun person! My significant other and I go to Pop Ups/Markets to get this cold brew- we always do the 3 for $15. It's so convenient to have coffee already done and ready to go in the fridge, and the coffee is high quality. It's so tasty! I like the black- I add a little splash of agave & a bit of 1/2 & 1/2, and call it a day. My significant other loves the vanilla the best (I think it's her best seller), but he also likes the caramel & mocha (mocha tastes like hot chocolate... but cold, obviously- it's delicious is all you need to know! Haha!). The owner is so sweet & genuine- the type of person you want to support on the regular (and the coffee speaks for itself, which is bomb). This new cafe is just perfect! It's very cute with special touches like signs made by local small businesses, sweet merch, and plants. From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed by the kind staff, who quickly made me a delicious latte and a calamansi lemonade. I love the unique flavors offered here, I typically drink black coffee but flavors like ube have tempted me to stray to more exciting combinations. I love that they offer a variety of non dairy milks. I got several pastries from the case, which are from local bakers. They were all very tasty, and again, boasted unique flavors such as a longganisa biscuit and multiple types of ube treats. It feels great to support several small businesses in one quick stop. I came the first time for an event and I finally made it during one of the last days of school. I LOVE this place AND it's woman owned AND FILIPINA owned!? Yes! Yes! Yes! It is a very small shop with big flavors. You may miss it if you aren't looking. You know that old historic house that a few years ago they moved to higher ground just a bit to the the right when they were fixing up Witchduck and Kempsville? It's there in one of the bottom businesses of the new base structure. She has so many cool flavors but I just love her buko pandan latte. And this time I got the regular Spanish bread (to me it's like an ensamada and a pandesal had a baby....haven't had either one? You must try both!) instead of the Ube flavored because to me sometimes Ube is too sweet. I definitely like the regular Spanish bread better but don't get me wrong, Ube was good too. Can't wait to go back and venture past my buko pandan and I love how there are little pop-ups for businesses there too. Maybe one day I'll be able to catch those as well! read more

I recently jumped onboard the cold brew train and as someone with a very specific coffee order ( sweet, but not too sweet, preferably dairy free ), Project Seed's cold brew may be my newest addiction. Erene built her following through hard work, dedication, and a true love for what she does, which shows in her outstanding customer service. Her unique business model as the cold brew delivery "milkman" caters to the convenience that all of us need. She keeps her customers informed of her whereabouts on social media, and can be found at a variety of farmers markets throughout Hampton roads. My first project seed experience was at Oozlefinch farmers market at Fort Monroe. Erene gave my husband and I the full cold brew tasting experience - even better than a wine tasting, in my opinion. Everything was top-notch but my favorites from her innovative flavor line include Fireside (infused with Graham crackers) and Ube (with homemade Ube halaya). Our biggest mistake was not getting more. My husband and I savored that bottle of Ube cold brew as long as we could make it last... thankfully she'll be at a nearby market again this week. We Project Seed! read more

Cold brew coffee delivered to your door! Do I need to say more? I met Erene last summer at a Yelp event and got to taste test her product. I fell in love with the concept of the cold brew delivery, the taste and quality of the coffee and the owner. She is a minority woman who went after an idea she had. Like her there are many coffee lovers out there, like me! In a pandemic or post pandemic world we all prefer things to be delivered. I ordered a batch of her famous Original Vanilla Bean and Honey Lavender delivered right to my door. It was super affordable. Dare I even say, it's cheaper than going to Starbucks! This place is awesome! The barista made sure to explain all the special flavors and we tried two specialty lattes. Both were delicious and the quickest coffee service we had ever seen. I always drink my Cold brew black. The Vanilla Bean Cold Brew from Project Seed Coffee is the best flavored coffee that I've tried! I really love it! It's a perfect balance of coffee and sweetness. History

Established in 2020.

I started my business because I have a passion for coffee and, more importantly, I have a passion for people. I believe that coffee shops are the modern day watering hole. A place where friends gather to share stories and where strangers come to meet friends – or to be left alone to get work done. I have long wanted to open my own coffee shop where people can come and gather. Then 2020 hit and brought with it Covid-19. Opening a coffee shop wasn't a wise decision at the time, but I still wanted to pursue a coffee business, even if I had to start from home. I then started experimenting with cold brew and learning the best ratio for various flavors. This led to farmers market and cold brew delivery service. Fast forward to 2024, we have opened our brick and mortar store in the Historic Kemps Landing Manor. A Filipino and Asian inspired coffee shop in Virginia Beach. We offer unique coffee flavors and baked goods from local bakers. Our goal is to plant the seed of joy by way of coffee.

My name is Erene H and I'm an immigrant born and raised in the Philippines. I permanently moved to the United States back in 2007. My passion is ANYTHING coffee! I look forward to discovering new flavors of cold brew coffee. Actually, I look forward to seeing other people discover new flavors of cold brew coffee. I began attending pop-up markets Spring of 2021 and I love seeing the look of surprise and satisfaction on the face of someone who samples my product for the first time. I'm also very excited about the unique opportunities to meet people that would otherwise be faces in the crowd.

And right beside it, there's an attached space with additional seating if you want to be somewhere a little more covered or out of the weather. It's perfect in the summer, but I also love that they stay open in the winter. They usually do buy-one-get-one free Fridays during the winter, which is such a nice bonus. And the customer service is always really good too friendly and welcoming every time I go. Definitely recommend if you're in Virginia Beach and craving something sweet and refreshing!

The muffin reminded me of my own homemade upside pineapple cake without all the brown sugar. It was light and buttery. The Lemon raspberry slice was delightful & not the least bit tart or too sweet. A mixture of both flavors without either one overpowering the other. The cake was super moist, perfect. The profiteroles were my favorite. They reminded me of that feeling I had the 1st time I tasted them while living in Italy. The choux perfectly baked and so delightfully light. The French toast was good enough without the side of syrup. The star for me of the breakfast items were the potatoes. I LOVED them. They were served HOT, seasoned just right with their insides softer that a baby bottom. I coulda just ordered 2 servings of those & bypassed the toast. All in all, well worth the wait. The folks were friendly, the Cafe clean and the seating plentiful and comfortable. I would recommend this place for both pastries & French toast & spuds.

I doubt I will be returning again in the future given how many other ice cream parlors are in the area that uses much better quality ingredients.

Project Seed is an incredible Filipino-inspired coffee spot that I stumbled upon at a local vendor market. My journey with them began with their famous ube cold brew, which immediately captivated me. When they opened their storefront, I couldn't wait to visit and indulge in their delightful desserts. The ube hand pies and longanisa cheddar biscuits were absolutely sensational - the hand pie reminiscent of an ube pop tart, which was a delightful surprise. Their bakery section always surprises with new offerings; I particularly recommend their Spanish bread, a delicious Filipino pastry, and the must-try longanisa cheddar biscuit. Occasionally, they feature ube brownies from Laney's Tiny Brownies, which are truly the best I've ever had. Recently, I tried their salted egg yolk cold foam cold brew, and it was simply out of this world. Beyond the exceptional food and drinks, the owners are fantastic, making every visit a pleasure.
