I attended the boot camp course in August of 2016. I was very nervous about attending a PMP class as I come from a pure technical background. Though I have lead projects but only as a Team lead. Before the class I received an email from Gregg my teacher about his introduction and some course basics and 50+ questions that were a Pre assessment kind of and I failed miserably in them. When I attended my first class which was full of professional project managers, I thought I will never be able to succeed in this. But the moment Gregg started the first boot camp session all my fear were vanished. His strategic approach and deep knowledge to everything is so perfect that when you are pursuing your PMP you will remember every single thing he said. He guides you through the important topics that you must focus on in order to prepare for the exam. He will tell you what to read and how to approach it and believe me his method to this madness is so accurate. I attended some of the online sessions by various Project management academy tutors, where you will learn how to approach Questions and will have discussions about various topics that you think you need for information about and on the TOP there simulator exam is awesome. I scored only 56% in boot camp exam but during my preparation I went back and again gave the simulator and scored 79%. Explanation to every question is great and help you understand the area of Gap. PMP is not about memorization it is all about how PMI wants the Project Management to be done and handled and that exactly what Gregg will teach you. When I was preparing my PMP application , I was scared about the Audit process but Gregg corrected me where and what was wrong and Bingo I passed the Audit and then passed my exam on 9/22/17. I also read several different books (Rita M, Head First, the PMBOK) Cover to cover multiple times. But the material shared by the academy were spot on. I took PMA's boot camp in Seattle, WA in December of 2017. My instructor was Roxanne Booth. Roxanne is an amazing instructor. If you have the opportunity to take her class or any other PMA class and your are serious about obtaining our PMP certification, take it! It is well worth it! Now for the real life story... I was one of the lucky ones (not really) selected by PMI for an audit. Even after class had ended weeks before. I reached out to Roxanne for support and without hesitation she gracious responded. After her support my audit papers were accepted. So with my PMP certification test date set. I proceeded to study using PMA's web-site. The information they provide is all in-compassing and more than you will need to Pass your exam (As long as you work the process). If you take the class and study, you will understand what I meant by that last statement. The video's and exam's are a great study tools, along with everything else PMA provides. Now the fun part... I sat for my exam on 3/14/18 with a lot of nervous energy and anxiety wondering if I knew enough, did I study enough? As I took the 4-hour exam, I was actually wondering when the hard questions were coming?, and you know what. They never did!! The PMA boot-camp and the follow on resources that PMA provides was paramount in my passing of the PMP on my 1st try. The thought of the PMP is very overwhelming and because of that I put off studying and taking the exam for many years. I finally took the plunge and researched bootcamps. PMA's ratings are superior to others that I compared to and that is why I chose them. My instructor, Scott Fass, was not only a fantastic instructor, but his deep industry experience is second to none. He had an example for almost every area covered in the material, which helped reinforce many concepts. Scott took the time to check in with each student to make sure we weren't feeling overwhelmed and gladly went over concepts that we didn't understand. I took the 4 day bootcamp, May 3rd-6th 2021 and passed the exam on May 26th 2021 on my first attempt. The bootcamp taught me what to study and how to study. It also reinforced that I did not have to read the PMBOK cover to cover, which is what a lot of people will tell you to do. After the course, I barely referred to the PMBOK. I primarily focused on the study plan that Scott provided and used the course material as well as the material on the PMA portal. I studied pretty hard -- approx. 4 hours each weeknight and about 8 hrs on Saturdays and Sundays, but it was worth it. Had I not taken the bootcamp with PMA, I would have read the PMBOK and don't think I would have been prepared for the exam. I would highly recommend PMA's bootcamp and highly recommend Scott Fass. I decided to take the PMP certification exam to improve my commitment on being a project manager. After much online search on where to take classes, i came across the Project Management Academy website. I saw the positive online reviews about their classes, study materials and their success rate and decided to give it a try. I took the classes from March 14th -17th 2016 and after the first class with the instructor Gregg Richie, i was highly impressed. The study materials given to us were very detailed and helpful and his lectures were informative and easy to understand without being overwhelmed with the Project management workload (which everyone knows is a lot). I could easily comprehend the project management basics with his mode of teaching. He is also very approachable and made the whole study class process relaxing and interesting. After the classes, i made proper use of the online resources on the PMA website. As a student of PMA, you are given access to online tutorials, practice exams, questions and answers, flashcards, and also the weekly tutoring webinar which i attended to ensure i had every question i needed covered. I wrote my exam on 23rd April, 2016 and I PASSED. The PMA classes and materials helped me a lot and I will definitely recommend it to anyone interested in taking the PMP exam. read more

I attended PMA's 4 day PMP Bootcamp -Seattle in April (2017) with instructor Gregg Richie and sat for the exam today and passed (first attempt). The 4 day boot camp is a highly accelerated, highly informative and well designed course. I say highly accelerated as there is a lot of material covered in those 4 short days, and unless you happen to have a photographic memory the majority of the info will not stick, initially. This course doesn't teach you how to become a project manager, it is designed to teach you the PMBOK ways and how to prepare you to take the PMP Certification test. The PMP Certification is not an easy endeavor, it's a very challenging test. However, if you take the information presented, the materials you receive during the Bootcamp, the online resources one has available (video lectures, practice exams, live video tutors, email assistance and the other online resources they have) and commit to studying, you too can pass the exam. PMA and their staff are knowledgeable and interested in your success. I have colleagues who have attended other PMP bootcamps (both online and in person) who didn't have the same experience nor the same results. I attended their PMP Boot Camp through their virtual classroom with Gregg as our instructor. I had been trying to study for about 9 months but wasn't making comfortable progress. I was approaching the end of my one year to take the test and took advantage of an offer for Veterans and signed up for the class. Gregg offered many insights into taking the exam that proved very beneficial during the actual exam. He was able to get me past some of my thinking about project management and get into the PMI mindset crucial for success. The exam was as confusing and frustrating as he told us, but being prepared for it, I was able to work through it and passed on my first attempt. As a veteran himself, he was able to relate the world of PMI to how the military frequently runs projects and provide a path of understanding from one to the other. I highly recommend Gregg and PMA for preparing for the exam. PMA's study tools were great and the ability to take multiple practice exams greatly improved my confidence. While the PMA questions are much more straightforward than the exam questions (and therefore much easier) they did serve as a good tool for seeing where my knowledge gaps were. I attended the May 15-18, 2017 PMP bootcamp taught by Gregg Richie at the Marriott near Lake Union. The hardcopies, online resources and in-class experience were instrumental in helping me pass the exam on my first attempt on July 6th. Gregg's energy and enthusiasm helped me get through the long intensive training sessions. He is an expert with years of professional experience and can easily translate PMI's PMBOK text to everyday project management applications. PMA focuses your attention on the concepts to comprehend as well as which terminology to memorize. In case you need additional reinforcement on a subject or would like another perspective from a different instructor, there are on-demand PMA videos available as well as live weekly webinar tutoring. The location had free parking and breakfast available for purchase. If you walk fast you can get lunch from the Food Trucks south of Mercer St. I highly recommend PMA and especially Gregg Richie if you are pursuing you PMP certification. After doing research online and talking to colleagues, I decided to attend the PMP Boot Camp with Project Management Academy instead of usting other methods of instruction. Gregg Richie was our Boot Camp instructor, and from moment one he began to decipher and help me understand the PMBOK that I had previously tried so hard and failed to comprehend. The PMA instruction was priceless! While tools and tips were in abundance, the Boot Camp provided a forum for understanding the PMI Project Management processes. I left the class feeling empowered and armed with the tools needed to get my PMP. The PMA online test-preparation was invaluable - and between the online processess reviews, practice exams, and other aids, I had a solid method to study for my actual exam. I felt prepared for and passed the exam the first time - something I NEVER would have been able to do on my own. I took the PMP course with Gregg in July 2018. I have to say that from the first day I was more than happy with the investment that I made and I was sure that PMA and Gregg will help me achieve my goal (pass the PMP exam). PMA offers each student everything that's required: PMBOK guide, explicit slides, Agile Practice Guide (I was not aware of this but it was definitely a plus), an amazing platform with mock-up exams and answer explanations, flashing cards, videos, exercise guide and more importantly, you get to have an amazing teacher exampling you all concepts is the best logical way. While the 4 day boot camp was very fast forward, Gregg made sure that we all had everything required to pass the exam. He is very knowledgeable, answered all our questions and gave us tips on how to learn effectively. Something I appreciated a lot is that he has a great sense of humor and this made the class more entertaining. While I had to do a lot of studying after (Yes, you must have realistic expectations, the course is not enough to pass the exam), I passed my exam first try. Since a couple years I set the goal to get the PMP, but never found the time and motivation to sit down with a 600+ pages book to study and take an exam that most people don't pass in their first round. Last month I was referred to Project Management Academy by my colleague who had a great experience and so I decided to follow her course. My class was instructed by Gregg Richie. The materials were very useful, the examples and study tips extremely helpful and the instructor is very impressive, great teacher who sets a whole new bar of what it can mean to be organized! After the 4 day bootcamp, I had a good handle on the terms and knew exactly what and how to study to pass the exam, including the mock exams on the PMA website! And, as of yesterday, I passed the PMP exam. So, the whole process was less than a month and not nearly as painful as I was concerned about. I took PMA's Project Management course in order to qualify for the PMP / CAPM certification exam in July 2019. The instruction was well done, with Gregg both explaining the practices outlined in the Project Management handbook and relating it to his extensive experience within construction and the navy. These practical connections really helped things click for me, especially since the processes and terms within the PMBOK can get a little esoteric depending on the industry that you are coming from. Going into the course, I had several years of program management, product management, and project management experience. However, that had all been on-the-job training and my methods and techniques were largely developed through a "necessity is the mother of invention" mindset. This bootcamp provided structure to my experience, breaking down the many pieces of my job into easily understood processes, identifying documents and procedures that I had never used before (but certainly will use in the future!), and set me up perfectly to pass the exam on my first try. read more

Attended the PMP boot camp in May 2013 with no intention of taking the exam. Changed my mind a few months later and registered. Started studying for the exam in Sep 2014 (that's right, 16 months later). I called PMA to request access to their on-line materials (practice exams, flash cards, on-line tutorials, etc), which they did immediately !! I could not have passed the PMP exam without the resources from PMA. That, of course, includes PMA's boot camp instructor, Gregg. It takes a lot to keep the attention of 2 dozen students for 3-4 full days, but Gregg is a natural. His experience in project management is comprehensive enough to lend valuable perspective for all of the processes. The pace and flow of the course hit the right topics with the right emphasis. Perhaps most importantly - would I feel the same way if I hadn't passed? I'd say yes - the exam is intentionally difficult, and the PMA program provides great insight how to approach. Wanting to further my professional career, I decided to pursue project management since all of my jobs over the last decade or more have involved it. However, I had no formal training or exposure to it and felt it would be important to standardize my knowledge. Project Management Academy came highly recommended online, and now I see why. I attended their 4 day intensive course with Gregg Richie and it was everything I heard it would be: intense, incredibly helpful, and enjoyable. Gregg is a wealth of knowledge and has a great balance of presenting the information but retaining the 'human' factor in an arena that can get overly technical and dry very quickly. He covered an incredible amount of material in a short time and had excellent tips for exam preparation. As mentioned previously, having had no previous formal exposure to project management (only informal experience), I am thrilled to say that I passed my exam a couple days ago. I took the PMP boot camp in Seattle in Sept 2018, and wow, sooooooo much better than just doing online classes. I took the PMP test this week, and scored "Above Target" in all categories. To be fair, there's a lot of studying to be done for PMP, but our PMA instructor Gregg (Richie) was totally up-front about everything, and it all just made me THAT much more prepared to sit the test. The resources PMA provides for your study marathon are top notch, and made it easy to focus on my weak spots. The practice tests they provide are hard, but I'd much rather find my weaknesses in practice than go in feeling false confidence on the real thing. As for our instructor, Gregg isn't the type to teach & run - he has followed through on every promise of help & mentorship he made to our class, including editing my PMI Application to help ensure it was the highest caliber. Totally recommend Greg Richie & PMA for anyone looking to add those PMP letters to their name, you won't be disappointed. read more

I took the PMP Bootcamp Prep class in Oct 2020. Due to COVID-19, the four-day class was virtual. If there was one good thing that came out of the COVID situation, is that the class went from live instruction to virtual. I live in the SF Bay Area, CA and if not for having to take the virtual class, I would not have had Gregg Richie as my instructor. (Gregg lives in the Seattle area). Gregg is clearly a very experienced instructor and was very helpful in explaining the content. Keep in mind the Bootcamp class is just to provide the material for the students to then do more research, studying, and taking practice exams afterwards. But he provided the foundational basis for the exam material. I took the PMP exam two weeks after taking the class and passed it. I have to give credit to the class material and more importantly, the study advice provided by Gregg, for passing the exam. If you have to take the class, please try to get Gregg as your instructor. read more

My advice: listen to Gregg!!! I took my PMP bootcamp on the east side in June 2016, which was the best decision I made on the journey of becoming PMP certified. Our Instructor Gregg D. Richie was extremely knowledge and his added advice on how to study and prep for the exam I believe resulted in me passing my exam a couple of days ago. After completing the course I started my application process for the PMP and Gregg reviewed my information to make sure it was up to scratch with a turn-around time of two days (mind you PMA instructors are busy). My audit process was a piece of cake because I was prepared thanks to the notes I was given. In addition, the PMA portal is a gem of its own and is literally worth every penny I spent! The extra Friday tutorials, the countless practice tests (just to name a few perks). Luckily I signed up for the gold package because now maintaining my PMP certification will be a breeze. The Project Management Academy Boot Camp was an excellent way to build a solid foundation of the PMBOK V6 material. First, Gregg Ritchie was a fantastic and thorough instructor. He knew the material, knew the concepts, and taught in a way that decomposed the hefty concepts into understandable and manageable parts. He took the time to cover topics that were causing confusion, and even used some of the break time to make sure if a student was confused, that there was extra time to review those concepts and provide additional guidance. I took the course the first week of April, and then sat for the exam just this week and passed. Using Gregg's study plan that he outlined, and the materials provided by the course (the practice exams, quizzes, and study guides) I was able to get through the exam and walk out a PMP! I took this bootcamp (January 2017) and proceeded to pass the exam on my first try! At first, the amount of material can that's being covered can be overwhelming, however Gregg is an excellent instructor who is able to distill complex topics into clear concepts and ideas. His straightforward language and presentation made it easier for me to learn and apply, and I even found myself hearing Gregg's voice while taking the exam! I would take his exam prep advice to heart, and I suggest you take as many mock exams (review correct AND incorrect answers) as you can in addition to studying the material independently. The PMA's study materials (both online and the binder/handouts) were on point, and I found myself keeping the materials close by my side whether I was watching TV, eating dinner, etc...just to burn it into my brain.
