She also wanted to bring up her math SAT score. Concerned that keeping up with M's classes would require too much work, her tutor recommended she switch to FusionMath (based here in Seattle). If you visit their website, you will see bios of all their current tutors. However, when I emailed the company to explain the situation, I said it would be great to get some recommendations from within the list. Mark Batho, the owner, emailed me back within 24 hours introducing himself and inviting me to speak on the phone, which we did shortly thereafter. He started out as a tutor himself, and it was clear from the start he was a very smart man and a highly committed educator. Although he said he had multiple tutors that could handle the job, he did recommend two, both of which were PhD candidates at UW in physics. M started with one shortly thereafter. They hit it off fabulously and M got A's in both of her honors math classes. Moreover, she raised her Math SAT score from 670 up to 730. M's tutor was personable, highly capable, and able to schedule evening and weekend hours, so M could do theatre in the afternoon after school. The owner, Mark Batho, is a delightful man and really seemed to care about how well M did. In total, I very strongly recommend FusionMath. Instead of going to law school, I found other things to keep me busy and when my score expired this year, I decided to try and take the exam again. After looking through the different potential programs, I decided on Blueprint. I liked the web interface and their ability to track your performance on different questions seemed like a good idea. I had no idea how right I was. The course was two months and took place at the University of Washington. The class size was small enough so that the teacher, Chris, was able to get to know everyone. Both Chris and the Blueprint materials effectively taught the Blueprint method for all three sections on the LSAT. Chris was a great instructor keeping everything relaxed and relevant (by using comic real world examples) but also structured and moving forward at a brisk pace. We took six practice exams, but the course also offered an extra 11 exams that could be taken on your own. If that wasn't enough, one of the real benefits of the Blueprint method was the website and the data analytics. The instructors have created a database of questions and classified them based on a type and how difficult they are. That way when you get something wrong, you can figure out if you're getting the same type of question wrong and then drill to get it right. I found it very useful in targeting which type of logical reasoning questions I was weak on and which games I was having trouble on. All in all, I was very satisfied with my experience at Blueprint.

The feedback was also very useful. Not only did Veritas provide feedback about the overall approach I took for my essay and cover letter but they also provided detailed feedback on each paragraph. What truly impressed me was that the feedback was not some general feedback but specific feedback that I was able to act on and fix my mistakes.
