My family has had the good fortune to work with Mazor Test Prep on tutoring for the ISEE entrance…read moreexam when my children were in 5th grade and applying to private schools, on the AP exams as they made their journey through high school, and on the SATs as they prepared for college. The proof is in their success-my kids scored in the high 80 and 90 percentiles on their ISEEs, were accepted to their private schools of choice, and earned 5s on AP Physics and Calculus exams. My son is a senior, and with Lisa's guidance, achieved a 1530 on the SAT, missing only one math question-no superscore, just one test. Thus far, he has not been turned down by any of the top-tier engineering programs to which he has applied. My younger child is now working diligently with Lisa to maximize his SAT scores as he prepares for college applications in the fall. What makes this all the more impressive is the fact that both my children have dyslexia and dysgraphia-school has not come easy for them. Whether working directly with Lisa or one of her expert team members, you can expect compassion, professionalism, flexibility, and a commitment to meet your child at his or level, emotionally and academically. Lisa and her team are exacting and demanding, but with an understanding that kids' anxiety levels and workloads fluctuate through the school year and need to be taken into consideration and adapted to. Working with Lisa, I felt supported as a parent, and more importantly, I knew that while my children were working hard, they too felt supported. My kids have tried preparing for standardized tests using workbooks and online/in-person group classes, but both report the one-on-one experience they have had with Lisa and her team to be the game-changer. Not only are Lisa and her team effective, they are kind! I have enjoyed all my interactions with them, and the kids do not balk when it is time to get down to work. They also feel motivated to get their work done between sessions, so they are prepared for their next meeting-with no helicoptering from me. This is how test prep should be.

She was underprepared and we only had a few months to get ready. Lisa met with my daughter 10 times over a few months and dramatically improved her scores and confidence. She did this with incredible kindness and empathy for the stress of the process my daughter was going through. I would highly recommend Lisa to any parent whose child is preparing for the SSAT (or SAT for that matter).

I worked with Stuart at Simply Brilliant on many areas of my business school applications. The…read morefirst thing that stood out to me about Stuart was how he took the time to understand me personally, recognize my motivations for applying to business school, and identify how business school could help me achieve my professional aspirations. Although I did not fully understand the significance of it then, I now realize that this extra effort to familiarize himself with my story made all the difference in helping me craft essays that showcased the best of me. I applied to six highly competitive schools and was admitted to five of them. Without Stuart's help, I do not believe I would have had so many great options to choose from. My GMAT score was competitive, but below average for a top-25 school, which I am happy to report I will be attending next year (Georgetown McDonough). Stuart was always quick to respond, considerate of my time, and always offered the option of a phone call to further explain where and why particular edits would enhance my essays. Furthermore, when I needed help prepping for my first interview, Stuart provided me with a long list of questions, which we practiced answering on a mock interview phone call. Finally, Stuart was a great resource when I was making my decision of which school to attend (was debating between Georgetown McDonough and U of Washington Foster). I was referred to Stuart by a close friend of mine and I will be sure to pass the favor along by referring Stuart to my next friend who is interested in applying to b-school. The MBA application process can be rigorous and daunting, and I truly believe that Stuart/ Simply Brilliant gives candidates a leg up on the competition and a better opportunity to attend the school of their choice.

Stuart is extremely well versed in the GMAT, both quant and verbal. From the beginning, Stuart was extremely prepared for each session, he provided solid tutorials and good examples to help me better understand the questions, as well as tips and tricks to help with test day. He was always very organized, and able to accommodate around my schedule. In addition, he was very patient with me, which is very important. I would highly recommend Stuart and Simply Brilliant for anyone who is looking for a GMAT Tutor who is willing to go above and beyond and really will help you increase your score!

I just stumbled onto the previous review and feel compelled to share my experience and opinion…read more Like the previous parent, we too were desperate to find help for our child so we took the leap of faith and signed up for the costly program. After a few short weeks we saw amazing results. Due to the distance between my home and facility I decided to wait it out in the lobby. These people are not ripping families off!!! It takes a village to treat not tutor children who can not read to in fact READ! They have a village of trained professionals involved. There is an educator who works one on one with your child, a person who is constantly watching over your child's progress, a person who has to manage the very complicated schedule, and someone to manage over it all. Nothing is perfect and sometimes things fall through the crack, that is the real world. Not that I am dismissing any frustration to the parent in the prior review. To a parent considering Lindamood Bell, no matter what you decide to do, remember you are going to have to pay someone to train your child to read so ask yourself why are kids learning to read in as little as 10 weeks while at Lindamood Bell? I love how the staff celebrate and reward all the children in the program on both small and large milestones. It is a happy place to be and I am forever grateful for the staff at Lindamood Bell.

I went in to get my child evaluated and she did need the help according to their reports. The only…read moredownside is the tuition is extremely high. $20k for 10 weeks. If you read the Glassdoor reviews, the clinicians barely make any money here. With the amount of tuition paid, they should be making more. I'm not sure if this is a scam artist place, but 20k is very high for 10 weeks of service. After we did the 10 weeks, they were supposed to provide a summer reading list for my daughter, but the director never sent anything and I followed up and I didn't hear back. Once she realized I wasn't planning to send my kid during the summer, she didn't really care. So I'm wondering if it's just a money making place to try and rip off the people in Bellevue because they know it's a rich area. I'm still making payments. I was desperate to get help for my daughter who was struggling. Sad they are taking advantage of kids who are struggling to make money.
