Fantastic results!…read more My daughter ("M") loved the math tutor she had from 8th through 11th grade, but, come 12th grade, M decided to take "Honors Physics with Calculus" and "Honors Statistics" at the same time. She also wanted to bring up her math SAT score. Concerned that keeping up with M's classes would require too much work, her tutor recommended she switch to FusionMath (based here in Seattle). If you visit their website, you will see bios of all their current tutors. However, when I emailed the company to explain the situation, I said it would be great to get some recommendations from within the list. Mark Batho, the owner, emailed me back within 24 hours introducing himself and inviting me to speak on the phone, which we did shortly thereafter. He started out as a tutor himself, and it was clear from the start he was a very smart man and a highly committed educator. Although he said he had multiple tutors that could handle the job, he did recommend two, both of which were PhD candidates at UW in physics. M started with one shortly thereafter. They hit it off fabulously and M got A's in both of her honors math classes. Moreover, she raised her Math SAT score from 670 up to 730. M's tutor was personable, highly capable, and able to schedule evening and weekend hours, so M could do theatre in the afternoon after school. The owner, Mark Batho, is a delightful man and really seemed to care about how well M did. In total, I very strongly recommend FusionMath.
