She was underprepared and we only had a few months to get ready. Lisa met with my daughter 10 times over a few months and dramatically improved her scores and confidence. She did this with incredible kindness and empathy for the stress of the process my daughter was going through. I would highly recommend Lisa to any parent whose child is preparing for the SSAT (or SAT for that matter).

My family has had the good fortune to work with Mazor Test Prep on tutoring for the ISEE entrance…read moreexam when my children were in 5th grade and applying to private schools, on the AP exams as they made their journey through high school, and on the SATs as they prepared for college. The proof is in their success-my kids scored in the high 80 and 90 percentiles on their ISEEs, were accepted to their private schools of choice, and earned 5s on AP Physics and Calculus exams. My son is a senior, and with Lisa's guidance, achieved a 1530 on the SAT, missing only one math question-no superscore, just one test. Thus far, he has not been turned down by any of the top-tier engineering programs to which he has applied. My younger child is now working diligently with Lisa to maximize his SAT scores as he prepares for college applications in the fall. What makes this all the more impressive is the fact that both my children have dyslexia and dysgraphia-school has not come easy for them. Whether working directly with Lisa or one of her expert team members, you can expect compassion, professionalism, flexibility, and a commitment to meet your child at his or level, emotionally and academically. Lisa and her team are exacting and demanding, but with an understanding that kids' anxiety levels and workloads fluctuate through the school year and need to be taken into consideration and adapted to. Working with Lisa, I felt supported as a parent, and more importantly, I knew that while my children were working hard, they too felt supported. My kids have tried preparing for standardized tests using workbooks and online/in-person group classes, but both report the one-on-one experience they have had with Lisa and her team to be the game-changer. Not only are Lisa and her team effective, they are kind! I have enjoyed all my interactions with them, and the kids do not balk when it is time to get down to work. They also feel motivated to get their work done between sessions, so they are prepared for their next meeting-with no helicoptering from me. This is how test prep should be.

If you are serious about getting into a top-tier business school, Manhattan GMAT can help you get…read morethe score you want. Their track record speaks for itself and makes them the best in the business. My personal experience was very positive; after 3 months of classes and 1 month of self-studying, my score went up 80 points and I got my target score. My instructor Jayson Beatty was fantastic, I looked forward to class every week. He made GMAT learning fun and entertaining, partially because he's just a funny guy. We met once a week for class, which made email communication very important. Jayson is very responsive to emails, always replying within hours. Lectures were systematic, first we learned the concept, then we went applied our learning through a series of examples. I registered for an in-person class with 6 students, which allowed us to take turns answer questions on the board. Highly recommend both Manhattan GMAT and Jayson Beatty!

Manhattan GMAT's Seattle course led by Mark was more effective than I could've imagined. It's invaluable having a math genius - CalTech educated no less - cover the ins and outs of the quant section. While it makes for long nights after work, the two and a half month course will help you build momentum and feel confident going into the test. In addition to the in-person classes, Manhattan's online portal makes studying at home simpler as you can watch pre-recorded classes. Do yourself a favor, rather than pull your hair out trying to make sense of Data Sufficiency questions, take this highly recommended class.

With just 1 week left before my round 1 deadline, I wasn't sure if I could get the feedback in time…read moresince the website says it takes 72 hours to receive the feedback. However, Veritas was extremely flexible and asked the reviewer if he could move his schedule around to accommodate my rather short deadline. I was able to receive feedback within 24 hours! The feedback was also very useful. Not only did Veritas provide feedback about the overall approach I took for my essay and cover letter but they also provided detailed feedback on each paragraph. What truly impressed me was that the feedback was not some general feedback but specific feedback that I was able to act on and fix my mistakes. For anyone who is planning to apply to grad school, I highly recommend Veritas. Trust me, it will be money well spent considering how important grad school will be for you.

Their online resources, books, classes, and tutors were all extremely helpful. In addition to the in-person lessons they offered, they also gave me access to a good amount of homework problems, skill builders and practice tests to continue practicing what I had learned. Jackson was my instructor and he did a great job. He made sure everyone understood all the topics we covered and always gave detailed explanations. I went into the classes dreading some topics, but Jackson made me understand them and even learn to like them. I highly recommend Veritas Prep and Jackson!

Great, caring tutors. Fantastic results!…read more My daughter ("M") loved the math tutor she had from 8th through 11th grade, but, come 12th grade, M decided to take "Honors Physics with Calculus" and "Honors Statistics" at the same time. She also wanted to bring up her math SAT score. Concerned that keeping up with M's classes would require too much work, her tutor recommended she switch to FusionMath (based here in Seattle). If you visit their website, you will see bios of all their current tutors. However, when I emailed the company to explain the situation, I said it would be great to get some recommendations from within the list. Mark Batho, the owner, emailed me back within 24 hours introducing himself and inviting me to speak on the phone, which we did shortly thereafter. He started out as a tutor himself, and it was clear from the start he was a very smart man and a highly committed educator. Although he said he had multiple tutors that could handle the job, he did recommend two, both of which were PhD candidates at UW in physics. M started with one shortly thereafter. They hit it off fabulously and M got A's in both of her honors math classes. Moreover, she raised her Math SAT score from 670 up to 730. M's tutor was personable, highly capable, and able to schedule evening and weekend hours, so M could do theatre in the afternoon after school. The owner, Mark Batho, is a delightful man and really seemed to care about how well M did. In total, I very strongly recommend FusionMath. (Fwiw, Mr. Batho also owns Uplift Writing - a writing tutoring company!)
