Decided between here or bellevue college at the beginning of my 2nd college round in life. Rtc lost…read morebecause of how unprofessional they handled my application. (5 yrs ago experience). The first issue I had was the phones kept ringing like no one wanted to answer them. Then they complained when they had to answer them. I set up multiple appts to get into a consular only to show up and the person wasn't there. Or because I was a mid 30 yr old at the time requested to leave because they thought I was out of place. After multiple attempts I finally got thru to the consular. They began to belittle my choices of technical degrees and started pushing them like it was a business. I'm sorry but since when do you have say in what I can and can not take? That would be their college pushing classes like a business instead of what the student wants to take. I had tons of credits from a couple other colleges and they said none of them would transfer in and I'd have to start fresh. Another money gimmick grab by the college. I had a clutter fuck mess issue when trying to take the placement test for english/math. I wondered over paid and came over to the testing center and I had set up an appt with them. The rep had belittled me and challenged me for even being there and complained about it. Twice I had to wonder back to the consular to inform them of the issue and he had to come over and yell at her to let me take it. That was another red flag. I had completed thru lvl 250 at bellevue college and their test was so poorly constructed that they said I would need remedial classes because they were not sure. Okay that's a red flag. I completed thru 98 (at the time) for math at bc and they said I'd have to start in remedial classes. I know I scored high on their test but something was fishy about it when they tried to place me in remedial classes. Yea that boosts my confidence as a could be student. As I tried to become an active student by the third red flag issue I decided to go to bellevue college. The rep said I needed to collect a ton of paper work so I did and came back. I repeatedly got requested to leave because my age deemed me "Out of place" and after the second time I told them look I'm trying to apply if you people do not want me here I shall not attend. You lost a could of been student that day. Over the years I have taken certificate classes/courses and never had this much of an issue with their college. But this was also back when it was a technical school not a college. When rtc became a college that's when it all changed into a clutter f* mess. Do not attend here. I price compared with bc and bc is about 30% cheaper than rtc. Don't believe me? Do the math. Parking is a bit of an issue with the campus. There's never enough parking and when I did my technical classes earlier in life parking was always full. I had to neighborhood park at your own risk and walk over or park at far end of camapus and walk over to the class area.

Her reputation is known throughout that industry and she is an excellent instructor. Nikki and her program has been recognized countless times in newspaper and online articles! And she's taken on jobs and worked on animals that other vet tech's can only dream of! Don't let the skewed opinion of one determine your perspective of the program and its instructor. If you learned the details of the situation that this parent is so miffed about, you might see a clearer picture. And don't forget, teachers are there to do a job and enforce the rules. How much of that situation does Leilani's daughter own? Guess we'll never know... Sno-Isle is an awesome technical high school regardless of the negative opinions of a few. They get what they put into their education and most regret not taking full advantage of the opportunities while they were enrolled. I've heard feedback, first-hand from former students. Who am I you ask? I am a former student of the automotive program I now teach...at Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center!

With that said I would like to give my honest assessment of Skillspire a coding bootcamp in Bellevue, WA. Skillspire was founded by Yasmin Ali, who created Skillspire to help those who cannot afford to attend college, but also, and I believe more importantly, to help people of marginally discriminated populations find technical work that they can build a life around. For this, I absolutely applaud her and Skillspire! The instructors at Skillspire are absolutely top notch. They know their respective skillset inside and out, and they do not hesitate to share; with passion, humility and humor their knowledge and wisdom. In the 16 week course that I took we were challenged by countless interruptions (covid) throughout the course. The course started in January and ended in May, at first we had in person instruction, but of course we were forced to move online due to social distancing measures. My instructor Farhad, took it all in stride, held us all accountable and made sure to work with us individually during this difficult time. He was encouraging and helpful for each of us in class and personally, I will forever be grateful for his graciousness. The Java course that I took was based on multiple projects building up to a final project that we were encouraged to team up for at the end. We also focused on using git, specifically GitHub for storing source code but also as a great tool for showcasing your skills in terms of coding and writing. We also focused on cloud computing for building full scale cloud based java applications. I went in to this course not knowing Java at all and came out absolutely confident in my ability to pass a coding interview in Java. Currently I am looking for work as a software engineer and I have the upmost confidence that I will be able to get started on a new career adventure with ease thanks to Skillspire offering career building services. Terri Pauly is a godsend as a resume/interview coach. She knows her stuff and exudes passion when she is helping you find your dream job. Skillspire offers top-notch coding instruction from industry professionals, excellent career building services and has a mission that is admirable and needs to succeed. I would recommend Skillspire to anyone looking to create a better life by learning how to code. You will absolutely be in good hands.
