BK Academy does concentrate on working with the students based on individual needs, wants and…read moreability rather than marketing themselve. I can see my child develop weekly and read at 4 (~4.3 years old). I had 9 times of moving schools for 2 children because schools often talk very well on the website, open house and school tours and then they do not do as they talk with many reasons. I decided to move my child to BK right before September (after 2 weeks of summer camp at another school where I was told to send my child more weeks and the teacher just stood to look at my child's difficulties at drop off and I saw my child sit alone on the floor or stand facing the wall). I thought BK would be the last option before homeschooling. But he has been thriving in very well: play with friends at the first week, drop off withour cry, learn life skills, read well at 4 - a preschooler, especially he is happy and confident to play and learn. Teachers, especially, Meera, is really passionate for her teaching job - beyond any curriculum. Parents here are very friendly and supportive too. Regulattion is a big job for any child, especially for gifted and 2e students and given the rainy weather of the winter, not many schools can privide a huge indoor room for kids to run and ride, but BK does offer this option. Also, the playground is so huge that children can run and play as they want. Once they regulate themselve better, they will learn better. Touring many schools, I do not see they offer huge indoor and outdoor playgrounds for the children. They may fit more classrooms? Thank you very much for helping my child grow well and happily.

Amazing experience for bright kids. That elementary school offers everything: from chess and drama…read moreclasses to playtime and advanced math. Ms. Meera is great with kids and will find a way to support and help any bright kid. We are happy to find that school; don't miss that hidden gem in gifted kids education.

The Redmond location that fired me in March 2023 is unironically closed so my review is not there…read moreanymore, so let-me-tell-you... I worked there for 1 week. In a meeting at the end of that week, the day that my agency called me and told me that the "principal" (please) did not want me to return to work, I stood up for a teacher. Steven, the "physical education" instructor lied on a female teacher saying she neglected 2 students. She absolutely did not. The principal allowed Steven to drag the teachers reputation in the meeting in front of everyone and did not protect her. I knew I was going to get fired but I defended the teacher (Kim) anyway because she's the nicest person I've ever met in my whole life. I'm serious. Steven is a resuscitated miscarriage that somehow survived. Alpha dog king of the rock personality. Handsome, and evil. So not that handsome. Sesspools of trash work here. And the leaders are the worst. The corruption just trickles down.

My experience started off with chaos and misleading information from the get go, poor conditions, broken doors, under staffed classes, not enough food some days and violent kids misplaced here due to having NO OTHER PLACE TO GO. The school's focus is attendance and not behavioral health or special education. To summarize the highlights of my experience here I endured 6 work in injuries in less than 6 months, was left alone with students that were not allowed to be left alone with female staff (this happened countless times and not to just me), as well as encouraged not to follow through on CPS concerns. Not to mention out dated, under qualified teachers who are kept because of the high turn over. My departure happened when the work environment became extremely toxic and I was bullied by a superior who was known for playing politics with employees if you struck him wrong. I have witnessed numerous hands on situations that weren't protocol, food regulations not met and senior teachers graduate seniors that had completed zero course work. This place is infuriating and heartbreaking, Needless to say I stayed because I have a passion for the work in mental health but was grotesquely let down and let go once I started bringing my concerns forward relentlessly. I hope this place is torn down and rebuilt because nothing about it is salvageable. There are great people who come and go quickly because they see this place for what it is immediately or get injured. It's the equivalent to a dangerous daycare with under qualified staff. I'm sorry to all the students who've been failed by this location and any others, you deserve better.

The questions were *very* familiar, some were almost exactly what I saw on the crams, in the books, and what we practiced in class with games. I feel like I could hear the instructors (Deborah) voice in my head drilling in the information and correct answers that I needed to answer the questions. I followed Rockwell's advice about passing all the cram tests with at least 90%, I tried to not rush through the state exam, but it felt easy. There was one thing I hadn't heard of or seen before on the test, they used the term "mutual assent" to talk about a "meeting of the minds," I had never heard of mutual assent before, but this was minor. The math problems were even easier on the state than the ones on the crams, so that was nice. Overall, if you're like me and you want to avoid all the nervousness of taking a major exam by being prepared, then Rockwell is a worthwhile investment - worth every penny and every minute of time. I love that I felt the exam was easy and moved through the questions with ease.

They only allow 6 months to complete their classes, others allow upward to two years. When I was able to start my studies again I was faced with expired but you can renew it by paying nearly the same amount to extend for 90 days! I sent a message requesting they consider reducing that if possible. I was barely into month seven at the time. After a few days of no response I sent another message expressing my disappointment that I had not received a response good or bad. After waiting a few more days it was time - I have since purchased the class I needed for less money through another provider. My clientele have always received same day responses! I have no patience for a company that offers "No customer service!
