Each time I've taken the classes here, they've been informative and straight forward. The instructors are always welcoming and knowledgeable. They welcome questions and do well explaining situations and procedure alongside the training videos. The classes are easy to sign up for and have plenty of availability. The classes are about 4 or so hours long, with a few breaks in between which is nice. It's always nice to see folks taking these classes simply because they're into being outdoors where much of this comes in handy. I do leave each of these classes feeling more confident about helping someone potentially in need.

This was the best by far. Julian was a fantastic and energizing instructor. Warm, engaging, and very clear in how he presented the material. The time moved quickly, which says a lot. What stood out to me was how practical and relevant the training felt. We covered real-world situations, including opioids and especially fentanyl, which is critical knowledge today. I have been going to CPR Seattle for a number of years and highly recommend them. Grateful for a strong refresher and training that matters.

A lot of other places would advertise a given amount (for example $35-50) but then the CPR book and skills portion were extra. Sometimes costing near $100 total! SafeGard was thankfully upfront and it was a flat $35 for the online class and skills portion and they are an actual training center for the American Heart Association. Getting registered and taking the online test was a little winded and lengthy, but eventually I was set up and taking my classes right away. I then was able to take the skills portion at the actual office which is just next door to Black Raven brewery. Carrie was our instructor and was very lively and informative. Class was 2 hours and after quite a few chest compressions on a dummy I got my CPR card! It was so easy and affordable. I'd recommend SafeGard for anyone needing to get certified ASAP.

The breakout rooms were nice and perfect for larger groups. We had a pretty small group and were able to get at lot of individualized attention and help. Several students shared experiences and asked questions and our instructor, a paramedic, was great about going through the scenarios and making them learning experiences for all of us. He also shared some really interesting stories and how he handled them. The mega codes went well and we all worked as a team to get through them. The exam only took 30-40 minutes and was around 50 questions. Overall it was a great class and I was happy I chose this later time slot to get my renewal out of the way.

The first day they had us in and out in under 4 hours, not six. The second day the megacode practice was a joke. The "practice" actually turned out to be the test portion, which everyone passed, again, without really learning or doing much of anything. During written open-book testing it was noisy chaos, with people lining up to do CPR recert after, and chatting away.

He has such an easy and clear manner in teaching his class. What both impressed and surprised me is how certain CPR instructions have changed in the past two years. Kevin gave detailed instructions even in where/how to stand next to someone having a cardiac or choking event, where to position legs and feet and where to put the cellphone (on speakerphone) next to the victim for talking with a 911 operator. Kevin's trainings are replete with stories about calls he's been on in the past year or so and the specific reasons why some of those calls had happy or tragic endings. The expanse of his knowledge on his subject is breathtaking--so he's the right guy to be teaching this class! Also, we've been to CPR/First Aid certification training that dragged on and on. Kevin's class flies by while ensuring we all have not only gained or refreshed knowledge but had that right amount of hands-on practice. He covers so much in his 3-hour training that it's best to just take the class to discover all it encompasses. And--Kevin? See you in two years, my friend.

I was able to find Mark by word of mouth from another ASC Nurse Manager, who had nothing but positive things to say about him. Hands down, Mark was amazing! He ran through some scenarios with us; realistic to our patient selection, and we utilized different areas of our facility (OR, PACU, waiting room). Key points: 1. Mark is professional, confident and an expert in his profession. 2. He always brought us back to the basics when we deviated off course. 3. He stressed the importance of utilizing everyone at the office. From the front office staff calling 911, rotating CPR, scribing; to the trained ACLS staff doing the medications and assisting with anesthesia. 4. One of the best parts of the class...he provided an atmosphere for staff to ask questions and really engage in the learning opportunity without fear of "not knowing the answer" or looking bad in front of other coworkers. Everyone, including the MD's felt this education opportunity was worthwhile and we will definitely have him back next year. Thanks Mark!
