In my line of work, I have to be certified in CPR/First Aid. Though it's unlikely I'll have to use it (and hopefully I won't), it is very useful knowledge to have and the amount of time that passes between trainings makes it a good refresher. Each time I've taken the classes here, they've been informative and straight forward. The instructors are always welcoming and knowledgeable. They welcome questions and do well explaining situations and procedure alongside the training videos. The classes are easy to sign up for and have plenty of availability. The classes are about 4 or so hours long, with a few breaks in between which is nice. It's always nice to see folks taking these classes simply because they're into being outdoors where much of this comes in handy. It was time to renew my Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid certification this weekend with CPR Seattle. Throughout the years, I have taken many of these courses. This was the best by far. Julian was a fantastic and energizing instructor. Warm, engaging, and very clear in how he presented the material. The time moved quickly, which says a lot. What stood out to me was how practical and relevant the training felt. We covered real-world situations, including opioids and especially fentanyl, which is critical knowledge today. The real-time feedback on the mannequins used for class is much more educational than the old school mannequins -- you never really knew if you were doing the compressions deep enough or quickly enough, etc. But these mannequins give you all the feedback you need to really "get" what you're supposed to be doing. I can't recommend this CPR training enough! This was an awesome class with the most personable and friendly instructor, Ryah! My workplace hired Ryah with CPR Seattle to visit us at the office for a four-hour CPR/AED/First Aid training. The four hours went by quickly and it was actually fun and memorable! After Ryah introduced herself, we immediately knew the tone of the training would be serious yet fun. The first part of our training consisted of Ryah asking us questions about common situations, so she could learn where we were coming from with the knowledge we already knew. We debunked myths, common mistakes, etc... We then broke out in dance and song, to learn step by step instructions in emergency situations. The next part of our training was when we watched short videos of scenarios and learned what-to-do in that instance and Ryah would go over it and answer questions. The last part of our training was when we used dummies and partnered up, to practice what we were taught in the earlier part of our training, in giving CPR. Just like a real scenario, we acted out what we'd do and Ryah would correct any mistakes or have us go over it again until it was perfect and we felt comfortable. Again, the half-day of training went by so fast, that it didn't even feel like taking a course! Once we completed our training, we were e-mailed our notification, which is valid for two years. I needed a CPR training. I was choosing between Seattle Children's and CPR Seattle but CPR Seattle offered classes that would fit into my schedule at that time so I came here. They sent you email confirmations with receipt and class prep. They asked you to come in at least 10 minutes before class. I showed up earlier as recommended. I was immediately greeted and asked to confirm my name and its spelling. Afterwards, I was given a sheet of paper with written instructions. A couple of people showed up right around the same time. Since we were early, the instructor (his name is Farley? can't remember) told us to feel free grab some energy bars and tea/coffee. Classes started on time. Although a couple of people were late because of traffic so Farley had to stop and check in with those people. Farley even let a teenager to audit the class for free because the teenager's mom was taking the class. That was very nice of him! We started the class with a short video introduction. Then we got into practices immediately. We practiced over and over again. We also practiced with AED. I definitely felt more competent after the adult CPR class. Then Farley let go of those people who only needed adult CPR. I stayed with two other students for the child/infant CPR. We did not really practice much for the child CPR since it is similar. We spent some time practicing with infant mannequin. The class lasted about 2.5 hours. There was no test in the end. They gave you a certificate at the end of your class. I wish I had more practice with child CPR. Great class overall! read more

There are classes specific to healthcare, family and recreation safety, instructor training and the general CPR, First Aid & AED. You can sign up to attend one of their classes at their facility on 45th Street or they travel to you. Signing up is easy, all you need to do is look for the class you want to sign up for. I just finished a four hour 1st Aid/CPR training with Colby. I'm pretty shy and easily flustered when put on the spot but Colby put me at ease (even comfortable enough to ask questions!). He uses a hands on approach, (verbalizing, acting out the process and role-playing various crisis situations, repeat). The focus on creating muscle memory as opposed to just listening and note taking, was just the ticket for me. This is probably the best CPR class in Seattle. Located in Wallingford, the instructors are certified by the American Heart Association, and issue AHA Heartsaver certified CPR cards. If you need certification for your job, other than at a hospital, such as at an assisted living facility or retirement home, then this is the place to go. My company reimbursed me the $69 class fee. The instructor (David) really knows what he is doing, and he won't let you out of there until you can actively demonstrate what you've learned, making it a far more valuable (and satisfying) learning experience than an online CPR class (which my company won't accept). 3-1/2 to 4 hours well spent. That's for the CPR and first aid classes combined. The first aid alone class is about two hours. The certifications are good for two years. Parking is free on Stone Avenue and the nearby streets after 6:00, but if you need to move a car they will take a break for anyone to do that. Oh, yeah, you're going to get down on your knees for this one and show the instructor what you learned with your compressions and how to use the AED. It's not all sit down! I needed my CPR certification renewed and found this business on Yelp. I signed up thru their easy user friendly website, received an invoice after purchase and a reminder email prior to the class. Their location was easy to find, around the UW area and right across the street from Dicks! They have parking behind the back, very good amount of spaces. I walk in and it's very bright, they have to 2 bathrooms and a corner with tea, coffee, water and granola bars! Super awesome hospitality! Had a fun time last night on the Pet CPR/first aid class! Tracy was the instructor. She was very friendly and informative. She went in depth and her knowledge base was big plus you can tell she really cares for animals! I learned a lot of things I could use on the job and at home. You don't just learn pet cpr but also how to deal with wounds, poisoning, and other incidents. The course is 3.5 hours and covers a lot of bases. I left knowing a lot more than I did. I came here a few months ago to get CPR certified for the preschool I was starting at. The course was pretty informative and pretty easy to learn. The instructor was very knowledgeable and easy to follow. The course is split into three parts if I remember correctly, adult cpr, children cpr, and infant. I did all three. I did this during the recent pandemic and they were very good about being safe and spraying down all the equipment so there's that! There is not much more to add about this place. Taking classes is always better when you actually want to learn and aren't just being forced to go. But CPR Seattle managed to turn a 4.5-hour long class into something interesting and fun. My job wanted me to become certified, and so I came here at 6:00 PM. It didn't seem like that much time had passed before it was 10:30. But the instructor did a great job, and soon enough, I was certified. Registering online is a breeze, and parking on the street is free along Stone Way N and many of the surrounding neighborhoods. I was the first one in my class to arrive, and I was able to make myself comfortable with the snacks (energy bars and tea) provided. The bathroom was almost impossibly clean, and I was really impressed with what they managed to achieve given the relatively limited space. My instructor was professional, experienced, and clearly an expert in his field. He knew exactly what he was talking about and made it sound like he wasn't reading from a script, although I'm sure elements of his lecture were recycled from previous classes. First aid took the first two and a half hours to go over. CPR for adults was covered in the next hour and a half, followed by CPR for infants taking up the last half hour. Everything went very smoothly, and I'm glad I could be out of there by the scheduled time with a license. Honestly, I'm surprised it could be done in only a few hours. There are probably sites around the area that offer similar services, but this is the only one I need to come back to. It's only two years before it expires and I have to come back, so I already know where I'm going next time! read more

Another yelp find. I went here individually on a Saturday morning in February of this year (after researching local "cpr/first aid courses" on yelp.com like I usually do). Now I understand the reason for all the great reviews. The Great:Instructor (Ryah), cost, location, materials provided. The Bad: Absolutely nothing. Their fees are modest and in the range of all the other courses for a program and a facility that is head and shoulders above the rest. I am a Director of Compliance at a transload company on Harbor Island. Because of my job, I have taken 20 or more courses online (hazwop, hazmat , OSHA 40...). However, when it comes to CPR /First Aid training that might one day really help another person out health-wise, I didn't feel comfortable learning this kind of training online and instead went with CPR Seattle 4 hour Sat a.m. class. Ryah, my instructor, was FANTASTIC and the most bad-a** woman ever. She was funny and entertaining, had a massive amount of experience (having served in the military and later working as a medic), and was unbelievably thorough. It was obvious that she definitely wasn't a person who went thru the motions just to get paid. Her love of teaching this life-saving subject really showed. She patiently and carefully observed each and every one of us thru-out each of the practical lessons.She was sensitive and kind in addressing us but absolutely serious with regards to assisting us with mastering the proper technique that someday might result in saving a life. When I got out of this instruction, I felt 100% sure I would be able to properly perform CPR /First Aid if called upon to do so. I liked the program and instructor so much, I talked the owner of our company into substituting CPR Seattle for the prior safety firm we had been using for a decade to provide our employees with certification. Can't say enough great things about the group pricing and the awesome customer service provided by Zoe and Chelsea in outside customer relations.
