I've been trying to use this company for a whole house insulation project. I got their number from a general contractor that has used them in the past and said their pricing is competitive. After I got a quote emailed to me it's not gone very smooth in finalizing a signed contract, and addressing my concerns about the project being performend to pass inspection. I had foam insulation shot into the ceiling of my new construction in process. The crew did not cover anything other than a couple of windows and got foam all over the new construction, including in between the wall framing 2x4s, inside the electrical outlets, inside the can lighting, covered rough electrical and other wiring, all over the floor and stairs, etc. When I asked them to return and clean up the mess, they said they would that day or the next day, never returned and stopped responding to e-mails to please clean up the mess. I sent them pictures as well with no response. Be warned. I had to pay other contractors to clean up the mess. read more

He misinformed us on how the windows work and I feel so grateful that we caught his error and did not make a purchase. This is an update since the owner has contacted me. He was very nice when he called but very concerned that I was accusing his men of stealing. I'm not going to retract anything that I wrote. We had $5000 worth in equipment stolen while they were working there. That is all. My three stars reflect the sloppy job they did on the patch work, the mess they left and the fact that they didn't make sure the vent holes to the attic were closed up. Our "Birdhouse" home was built in 1959 by real estate developer William Mellenthin who was known for designing charming ranch-style homes with gorgeous, wood beam, cathedral ceilings; we purchased it in 1991 from the original owner who--thank goodness--did very little to alter its appearance. Unfortunately, houses built in those days were drafty, using up too much energy to cool & heat the home, so we started paying attention to all of the info out there on the internet about choices & options of insulation. After getting the run-around from contractors who wanted to charge us beaucoup bucks, I found Progressive Insulation & Windows rated highly on all referrals--especially 1 of the most reliable companies referred by SoCal Edison: "Viewtech Financial Services, Inc." a Kilowatt Financial Co. Progressive Insulation & Windows was 1 of only 5 contractors on their L.A. County Contractor Referral List. We made a convenient appt. with their sales rep, Dwayne Dalichau, & were very pleased with the forthright, honest appraisal of our home's needs. He was extremely knowledgeable & reassuring, confirming the same info I learned from my internet research. We started out small, asking the price of insulating only our Southwest bedroom; the complete estimate was $700(!) So we decided to include the rest of the home, which now was estimated at $1,225(!) Boy, did we express interest! By questioning Dwayne about his assessment of other aspects of insulation, he mentioned our attic, & to our chagrin, pointed out the level of insulation there was negligent & to bring it up to code would cost $1,195. So we were sold! To insulate our entire home & attic, following the best procedures, cost us $2,420. Wow! And we can ASSURE you that the work which was completed in September 2015, was superb! Ever since that day, we have enjoyed our home SO much more: it's so quiet!--keeping out the everyday noice we took for granted--but it's also so much cooler in the Summer months (no need for A/C) & warmer in the Winter (no need for heat), that we are so appreciative of Dwayne Dalichau's calm, quiet, competent guidance to help us make the wisest, most cost-effective decision possible. read more

I contacted them to install retrofit double-paned windows in my parents' house. The salesman we worked with was very professional. The company has a nice selection of window manufacturers, with various options for your budget. We replaced 12 windows and 2 large glass sliding doors in a span of 2 days (with a few weeks of ordering time). The installers used plastic sheets to keep our floors clean. We needed to get one window "retro-fitted and installed" in our home. The sliding mechanism was broken and the glass was cracked as well. I had called several handymen, other window-install companies. I'm very happy we went with Progressive for this job. I was so impressed with Progressive the first time I called. It's a company that has been around a long time and the have professional systems on how they handle sales/customer education, consults, installation, etc. For both my consultation and install appointments, the workers were on-time, professional, friendly, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. A very pleasant experience. Kyle was our salesperson and on a pop-up visit I made to the office/showroom, Kyle made himself available to show me the type of window we would get and answered all my questions. They have a lot of different brands of windows in their Chatsworth showroom and some of them are displayed within "house siding" so you can see how they get installed and what they would look like installed on the side of a house. Kyle helped me located the brand that was similar to the broken one since we wanted it to match with the rest of our windows. I was unsure of the retro-fitting process and didn't think it could look as good as it came out. It's seamless, you wouldn't know we had to replace and retro-fit a completely different brand of window! Very happy with our window retro-fit replacement and Progressive's service! I hired Progressive to install all new windows and back door in our house. We still have the original windows from 1940 so I had to order all custom sizes. From the first call with Erik who went over what I needed and got a quote out quickly to the guy who came to measure and then finally installation (Pedro's team) I couldn't have asked for better service. The install was faster than their estimate. The installers were wonderful. They were very mindful of keeping the workspace clean and safe (we have small children). The workmanship of the install was as good as I've seen -I wish I could hire them for other work around the house. I cannot say enough great things about Progressive Insulation & Windows. As the process unfolded, I found out it's a family owned and operated company and they take customer service and satisfaction to the highest of levels. The quote processes was outstanding...easy and honest! The work and quality was top notch! What really blew me away was the follow up when an issue arose. During the installation of the insulation, the wires to our TV were disconnected in the attic due to a terrible job by our TV installer. I called Progressive to fix the problem even though it turned out not to be their issue. The owner's son, Alexander, came to our home himself with the person who performed the work. They discovered the issue and handled it. Alexander gave me his cell phone number and texted me continually with updates, etc. during his research of the issue. Way over and beyond what would be necessary. If they did not fix it, they were happy to pay for a TV tech to do it. Their main goal was to make me happy and they did! We used Progressive to insulate our walls, and it has made such a difference and wished we had done it sooner. The biggest concern I had was the stucco patching showing up later like we have seen on other homes that have had stucco patching done. It was a relief to find out that they can do it from the inside and drywall is much easier to patch. This worked better for us since we were going to repaint 3 of the bedrooms anyways. We broke the job in two phases, since we were going to redo the kitchen later and Progressive was accommodating to our needs. This also gave us a chance to see how much of a difference it would make and how good of a job they did. How they approach the job from the inside to minimize dust is hang plastic and put down drop cloths on the floor. They essentially seal off the room and make a tunnel around the room along the walls with all the furniture moved to the middle of the room. They then cut two holes about every 16 inches between the wall studs and pumped in insulation top and bottom under pressure to ensure the wall cavity is filled. Then to make double sure, they used a thermal camera to check for areas that weren't filled and if needed pumped in more. Then they of course plugged the holes. The first time just doing the 3 bedrooms it took them about 4 hours, and when they left we expected to find drywall dust everywhere but we didn't. There was a little, but it was easy enough to clean up. And the result was that those 3 rooms were the warmest during the winter and coolest in the summer. It convinced us to do the rest of the house and this past month when we decided to do the kitchen and have the rest of the walls insulated, we didn't hesitate calling Progressive. read more

Update July, 2018 on our Amerimax vinyl window sliders (six of them) installed about 4-5 years ago. All working as good as new, no fogging of the dual pane windows, no difficulty with sliding, no problems with locks, no vinyl fatigue or cracks (and we are in the West San Fernando Valley are where it gets a lot of hot sun!) , no yellowing of vinyl on exterior or interior, etc. Now we are getting quotes for another property since we have experienced a longer period of satisfaction. read more

Unfortunately, when I didn't receive an estimate over e-mail as he had told me I would, I had to call his cell - and eventually Progressive's main office line - to learn that the company wasn't willing to accept the job. I appreciate it! ******************************************** Hate to write a bad review but.... they will quote and bill you for services that they do not provide. Had a quote for removing debris from the attic ( shingles and stuff from the roof replacement) and installing insulation. Only a few pieces of debris were actually removed per the workers at my house but they told their office they removed 10 bags of trash. Huh really? I never saw anything removed and I there the whole time and was watching them. Following up with the office you never get the same person to talk to, they don't return phone calls, and obviously they won't refund your money even if they don't do the work. Terrible customer service from the office staff. Waited almost 3 weeks just to get my rebate documents so I could apply for the DWP rebate. So I guess the insulation was installed ok but still have a bad taste from being screwed out of $250 for nothing. If you just need insulation they probably do a good job, but you should be cautious if you need any other services. Plus they set my attic fan on and never reset it, guy had to come out the next day to turn it off because it was running 24/7 wasting more of my money. Overall I was not impressed by the service provided by this company and their employees, and I'm still waiting for a return phone read more

There was a hiccup with one of the windows (through no fault of Progressive), which was attended to immediately and included oversight from the owner of the company.
