I came in with acrylics and told him I didn't like the bulkiness of my past nails & he educated me on the differences between that, gel x and builder gel. I came in wanting gel x but came out with builder gel with tips added. I didn't even know you could add tips to builder gel. He knew I wanted a natural looking nail, no bulk, and he delivered! This salon offered more muted colors than any other salons I've gone to recently. I was looking for a muted pink on the warm side and I'm soooo sooo happy with the color of my nails. I decided I need and wanted a chop and off I went to visit Alyssa for the first time. curls by Alyssa offers a curly cut & wash & go. I've had a dry curly cut before but never a wash and go. At the moment I went in I was greeted with warm smiles and happy hellos by the girls. I was later greeted by Alyssa as she was finishing up her previous client. She sat me down and heard my thoughts on what I wanted. She was warm, kind, encouraging , and ready to get life back to my hair. She gave me some good suggestions and was happy to say yes to a good chop. She suggested rounded layers and I said Yes! Please! She washed my hair , provided a treatment, sat be down the hair dryer before starting with the cut. Once she started cutting away you can see life coming back to my hair. Then she proceeded with the wash & go part of it while at the same time explaining every step and even showing me how to do it myself. She took her time and you can truly see in her face and in her work how much she does doing this. I listened to her and at the end she made me a huge believer. Not that I never trusted her but a believer in the wash & go method. My curls were alive, shiny , and bouncy. I felt brand spanking new and a little sense of freedom with my big chop. I even asked for another technician, but was told no even though someone else was available. Instead of resolving the issue, things escalated and police were called. I was asked to step outside and I complied, but I left feeling misunderstood and unfairly treated as a customer. It was my birthday, and I left feeling hurt instead of taken care of.
