I have been in this business ever since I could work. I've been on both the paying side, and the getting paid side. My mother was a service writer herwhole life, my stepfather a mechanic as well. I have been and AM, A Mechanic, service writer. I have never even seen what just happened to me personally. I walked in to get a quote on what it would cost to have my 1963 Oldsmobile painted. As a gentleman saw me walk in he strolled over to put his tools away which is fine, and then walked up to me with this disgruntled look, AS THOUGH he was thinking why am I here. I then said I'm Daniel and shook his hand, he started shaking his head. I figured he just wanted me to get to the point, so I said I was just wondering if you could give me some what of a quote on getting this painted. He literally looked at me continuing to shake his head and said no! just like that, no! I said what do you mean no? he said I won't do it.... I simply asked why, he said it wasn't worth his time, it would be too expensive, it's junk, and its got too many problems. There is not one single dent scratch or rusted out whole in my vehicle.ITS A 1963 with 60 thousand original miles! I told him, okay that's fine you really don't need to be a dick though (honestly....I don't mind taking my service elsewhere, but I told him how do you know I don't have the $15,000 you quoted me? (obviously just being an ass hole). he said you might, but I don't have the time and I don't want to do it. I was nothing but courteous, respectful, and polite. And he jumped mind throat, with this (my you know what don't stink attitude). I'm a mobile mechanic in Napa....I try to take care of everybody and, help everybody.. I came to Pro Tones to fix my Lexus, it was mysteriously damaged while at another garage. The damage was excessive: dented rear bumper, rear body, quarter panel and rear door. Thomas was SO nice and accommodating during this stressful situation. He worked with my insurance company directly and fixed my car quickly, I hardly had to do anything. When I picked my car up there was a detailed summary of work done to my car, along with a hand written thank you note and a snazzy new key chain on my keys. The car looks better than new thanks to Thomas and Pro Tones - there's no trace of the abuse my poor lexus went through at the mercy of the other garage.
