Finally had the opportunity to drop by at ManiPedi for the first time after passing by it for years…read more- I am no where near disappointed! Walked in shortly after they opened and there were already 4 people inside, which tells you just how popular they are. However, that didn't stop them from fitting me in to do a shellac mani pedi. I very seldom get a mani pedi, so please forgive me if your opinion differs from mine in terms of their colour selection, but I'd they have over 100 colours for shellac which was overwhelming but nice because there's something for everyone for every season. I got my pedicure done by Tina and my manicure done by Amy. Both of them are very meticulous, gentle, and patient. They both took the habit of checking in with me to see if I liked what they had done so far, which I appreciated. While I am not very picky or particular, I could tell that both of them cared about making my nails look great. A few other things: - Like other yelpers have said, if you're looking for relaxation and a quiet ambience, this is not the place for that, though they have great massage chairs. - Located by Summerhill Station, you can imagine the clientele they get. I walked in in my workout gear after a 12h night shift and felt out of place with women in fur coats, expensive bags, and pearls. This didn't trump the service though, they treat you as a customer they aim to please. - Tools used are all individually packaged and they open them up in front of you. - Pay flat rate with cash, tax added for card payments. TLDR: All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming, their service was great, and their price is competitive. I highly recommend!

It was not a busy day but it seems it was all rushed. I find the pedicure is not the typical kind of service you get from other salons. Guess you get what you pay for. She cleaned my nails even before soaking my feet. Nails and dry skin were not cleaned properly. She scrubbed my feet so quick. Not sure if they sterilized their tools as they were already on the table. She cut my skin on both toes and were bleeding. I took a close look when I got home and they were red. I had to put polysporin in case there's infection. It took days to heal. I had pedicure a few times a year but never experienced this before. No point complaining to them since I have no plans of coming back.

Manicure was worse because I had a HORRIBLE infection on my left hand ring finger that won't go away, no matter what I do. Not to mention polish chipped after one day...worst mani/pedi ever Place was absolutely filthy. Stay far away. UPDATE: went in and saw the owner. She asked me who did my mani/pedi and when I could not tell her she gave me an even harder time. Telling me I was giving her employees who are new immigrants hard time. First off DO NOT PULL THAT CARD WITH ME. A lot of my friends are immigrants and I do not have a racist bone in my body for anyone. Than had the nerve to tell me I needed to bring her a doctors note ... are you kidding me??? You want me to go back to the doctor pay $20.00 for a note and bring it to you to prove that I have an infection that you can obviously see with your own 2 eyes in your head. (See pics). She gave me a lousy $15.00 back for my manicure even though I have now paid $40.00 for drugs to fight an infection. She asked to see my foot which I said had been cut when I did my pedicure and because there is no mark left a week later she told me too bad...WOW You want an opinion STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM HERE. They are rip off artists and I will be calling the Health Inspector to go in there. I have written proof (in the form of a prescription) and photo proof of a horrible experience and infection.

Paying in cash also meant I saved on taxes, which was a nice bonus. One thing I appreciated is that you can book an appointment directly through their online booking platform. I grabbed the first available time slot in the morning. That said, my appointment started about 15 or so minutes late. I texted them to check in, and they let me know there'd be a delay, so I just waited around by the Shoppers next door. It seemed like the staff all carpooled and arrived a bit late to open together. Another downside was that the polish colours at least for shellac seemed pretty limited. I was hoping to find a nude, translucent shimmer but couldn't quite get the look I had in mind, so I just went with the closest option. One of my thumb nails didn't cure completely flat, but it's not super noticeable, and I'm not too picky given the price is on the lower end. If you're looking to get your mani and pedi done at a reasonable price, this is a solid option. For special occasions when I want my nails to be 100% perfect, I'd probably pay more and go elsewhere--but for regular maintenance, this place does the job.
