This happened about 5-6 weeks ago.
Beware of this place!! I was in as a first time client to have my bio gel set removed (with an appointment). Prior to the service I spoke to the "manager" at the front desk & explained I wanted my set soaked off slowly (NOT buffed off roughly with that machine right to my nail bed), and have a full manicure.
After discussing what I'd like to have done, she vaguely pointed in the direction of a back chair in the middle of the busy salon. After sitting in my seat, around .5 seconds later a woman came bustling into the chair WHILE CHEWING her nasty ass soup noodles. I'm sorry - but working in the customer service industry you must have more common sense than that? . Not a pleasant start for 1st time customers
My main complaint, however wasn't the fart-breath.
After explaining everything to the front desk, she sat down and looked up at me with confused look on her face and said "take off?" And tapped my fingers. After me awkwardly telling her again I wanted to try & soak them off slowly, we can see how long my natural nails actually are, we can cut them all shorter but 1 length. So I don't look ridiculous growing them out healthy again.
She immediately went to work. After turning my head to zone out & listen to CP24, she whipped out her nail scissors, and snipped my long coffin nails (gel but my natural nail was long underneath) into tiny little square chicklets. I pulled my hand away and said uh what are you doing? I just said I wanted to keep them long until the very end & then we'll decide on shape. She looked like I had offended her, and said "no short?". After snipping two of my nails I didn't have a choice but to hold my breath & accept I would have short nails for the next month.
That wasn't the worst part. She opened up her drawer, pulled out a nail polish stained acrylic nail, and began to peel off my nails.
After she shoved her nail extension under my nail a few times, and realizing my gel nails were stuck to my nail bed - SHE USED HER THUMB. Yeah - she actually scraped my artificial nail off with her thumb nail. I immediately pulled my hand away. I spoke up and said you're supposed to soak artificial nails off - and you're making me bleed when I held up my nail for her to see clearly she used the dirty towel she had under my hands - to try and stop the bleeding.
I was bleeding from where the fake nail "tool" was shoved between my nail bed and fake nail. She pulled her medical mask down and said "soak off"?
Are your employees licensed in handling artificial nail removal? Especially bio gel? Is anything here legitimate?
My "technician" managed to get two of my fake nails off with a combination of her thumb nail, artificial nail "tool", a light soaking in acetone, and me leaving with all of my set intact. I was crying in my chair just before getting up to leave when the technician next to mine looked at me and said "don't look" when I was watching my girl struggle to salvage the situation.
While this whole ordeal was happening, a smaller pedicure group came in - a mom and two small daughters in pretty sure. They all began speaking in their language. The lady at the desk spun around and yelled something to the opposite end of the room, and my girl spoke up, with the technician beside her (who was doing top coat on her client. I got up sniffling saying "maybe I'll have to grow them out", she picked up her cuticle tools, buffer and everything & sat down in a pedicure chair 4 feet away.
Does your salon sanitize their equipment between clients?
I wasn't even out the door - I stopped at the front of the store to grab a card on the way out - and when I looked for her she was removing polish, starting her next client with NO SANITIZATION.
I can't even imagine how gross their pedicure peds and everything else is. read more
