I had been coming to this place since we moved here about 8 months ago, I bring in a bag full of clothes about every 6 weeks. This last time, I took back one of my husbands work shirts because it had an awful black stain that wasn't even there when we first brought it in. The man who helped me was extremely rude and implied I was lying because the shirt was wrinkled (this was because I put it back in the bag with the rest of the clothes I was bringing to get cleaned) the shirt still had the little tag they put on after it's been cleaned. Do not waste your money here. I am so incredibly disappointed with my experience at this place. Last week, I took my living room drapes here to be cleaned. Over the years, the drapes accumulated some grime from my toddler son, from rubbing his messy fingers all over them. I brought them to this place because 15 years ago I had my wedding dress cleaned and they did a great job. But this is definitely NOT the same place as it was 15 years ago. This time, when I walked in, I showed the guy at the counter all the gunk and grime on them. He told me it would be a total of $60 to have them cleaned. Then today, I went to pick them up. The same guy at the counter just hands them to me with no discussion. As I take the drapes out of the packaging at home I immediately see all the same grime and gunk are layered on the drapes. It looked like they hadn't even been cleaned. There was even crusted toothpaste on them, that I actually could scrape off with my fingernail! I immediately took them back and showed the same guy all the dirt and grime on the curtains. He had no explanation, only to say that they are not responsible. He said that maybe I should have them cleaned again, and I would be charged even more!!! Look, I could be forgiving if he even had said, "Oh, I'm so sorry." But nothing like that came from him. He was on the defense and not willing to say they made a mistake. No refunds offered. No apologies. He just kept saying "I'm not responsible for this." I even showed him how I could actually scrape off the dirt and grime with my finger. He just had no explanation! I realized that I was getting nowhere with him. Realizing that I had just lost $60, I gathered the dirty drapes and headed home. As a warning to all, if you do happen to use this business, I recommend checking your linens/clothing before you bring it home, have them actually show you what they cleaned. Or just save yourself a big fat headache and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

I've been coming here since 2004 and today was the final straw. The alterations lady is so absolutely rude. She ruined my daughter's formal dress by hemming it way too short and wanted to argue with me about it. I know for a fact I didn't approve the length to show her ass. She repeatedly said that I approved it. Ha, Um. No. I will not return based solely on how we were treated and her tone. I look forward to supporting a business who respects their customers. What I like: 1. They are the best at cleaning high end and designer clothes. You can absolutely trust they will do a careful and excellent job. 2. They pick up and deliver to your home. What I don't like: You will pay for it. The prices are unapologetic. But I recently tried an inexpensive dry cleaners. I have used this dry cleaner's for various occasions over the years. While in the area for a wedding, I needed a quick alteration done. I dropped off my suit pants on a Friday and got them back on Saturday morning in time for my event! I was very pleased with the quality of service. I recently moved to the area and so now I've been using their dry cleaning service all the time for my special garments. All my items always come back in perfect condition. Used to love this place. Have to wear dress clothes 6-7 days a week, and took everything here. Suits, shirts, slacks etc. Recently though the quality has become very bad. Most of my shirts come back with the collars pressed horribly and the shirt body full of wrinkles. Brought it to the attention of the woman working the front desk today and showed her some of the shirts I was picking up as an example. She didn't care at all, and didn't even offer to fix the ones I was showing her that I was about to pay for. Really disappointed. Going to have to look for a new place. read more

What a terrible experience. I have lived in this neighborhood for 25 years and always go to the competing dry cleaners across the street, not for any particular reason other than habit. I needed some dresses cleaned and I thought to try the Martinizing shop. I went to the website, found the store I wanted and called to ask if I could get my clothing back the next day. Sure, the man on the phone said, just bring them by before we close. On the website, I noticed a coupon link on that store's page for first time customers, which of course I printed out. When I got to the store, the woman at the counter took my name and added me to the computer. She took my clothes and said to come back the next day after 5 pm. The next day, I came in to get my clothes and handed her the coupon. "Oh no," she said, "this is not our coupon! I can't take it" It came from your website, I told her. Well, it is only for first time customers, she told me. I AM a first time customer, I reminded her, you added me to the computer yesterday. We only take coupons that say "Lomas Santa Fe and Encinitas," she told me next. Well, I said, this was the coupon that was on your store's page on the Martinizing website. Next she told me that I couldn't use the coupon because my cleaning was "rush." Rush? No one said anything about it being a rush job. She hadn't told me. The man on the phone hadn't told said anything about it being a rush. "That's our policy" she said. Fine I told her, but you have to have a way of notifying me of your policy. You didn't tell me and none of the signs around the store say anything about it. She tried again - "You had to give me the coupon when you brought the clothes in yesterday," was her next reason for refusing the coupon. Where does it say that? I asked. There's nothing on the coupon or anywhere in the store that says I have to give you the coupon when I drop the clothes off. "Fine," she said, exasperated, I'll take the coupon but only this once. Fine with me, the coupon was for first time customers only. I was a first time customer but now I am also a last time customer. I'm going back to the dry cleaners across the street. read more

I used to have my dry cleaning picked up and delivered when I lived nearby. 5 years ago I moved to the beach and delivery wasn't available. Because I have had such a positive experience and trust the honest owners of the Encinitas location, I drive out of my way to continue using them. Very friendly owners who get to know you after a few months. I like that they stay open on Saturday afternoons so I can pick up something to wear that night if I forgot to pick it up earlier in the week. Their credit card auto-billing system is reliable and makes drop off and pick up very quick and easy. I have never been disappointed with the results, my clothes come back clean and pressed properly. Best of all, whites stay white. Parking spots are always available in close proximity for occasions when you have a large drop off or pick up.One time I picked up someone else's shirt, but they figured out where my shirt was by going back to their video camera footage on the day that I dropped off my shirt to see where the mixup happened.
