I had wore a blue sweater over a beige blouse which was my favorite blouse for work and I took it to West Village Cleaners in town cause the blue dye colored my blouse. They could not get it out yet charged me 12.00 for trying. After reading reviews on this Cleaner and seeing new technology cleaning noted I thought I try it. I thought for sure I was going to hear sorry we tried but my mouth was open that they got the dye out and my blouse looked like new! Frontier did a great job on our drapes. Another cleaners viewed this as a tough job and hesitated to do it. Frontier came to our house, removed the drapes, cleaned them and resewed the lining, then rehung the drapes. The cost was very reasonable and the service was fabulous. Lady charged me 25 bucks for the item, more than twice as much as any cleaner in the city has ever charged me for said item. Wouldn't have minded if the price were 30%/ 40% over my usual rate but this was beyond the pale. Went here for the first time. Dropped my clothes off on Friday . Said they would be ready on wed . When I called Wednesday they said they were not even touched yet . Then I said I would pick up dirty and go elsewhere . When I arrive two ladies said they were able to clean them : I paid . After paying I took a closer look and what they did was SCAM me. They pressed dirty clothes to appear cleaned ; smells and dirty were now sealed on with a iron. I asked for my money back and they said call the police . Who would ever take a chance on leaving their expensive clothes here when there are SO many more options available. Unbelievably rude. And complete lairs and scam artists work here. We flew into San Diego in the morning for an early evening wedding later that day. Out clothes got rumpled on the flight and we were desperately calling dry cleaners in the area to see if someone could press our clothes before the wedding. We called five places who weren't able to help us, but Frontier Cleaners saved the day for us! I've gone to this cleaner for about a year. I took a sweater jacket in for cleaning, and when I came in to pick it It had not been cleaned at all, but the woman at the front insisted that this was the best they could do. The jacket didn't smell clean, still had a small stain from when I brought it in, and there were my own blonde hairs still on it. The woman accused me of just not wanting to pay for it which is ridiculous because I never even brought up the price being an issue. I just wanted my jacket cleaned and eventually the owner heard us discussing the issue and stepped forward and said that she would take care of making sure that the jacket was cleaned properly. Three days later I went back and it pick up the jacket and as promised it was cleaned, the stain removed, and smelled clean. I happily paid the $31 that they charge to clean it! I'm still not very happy about being accused of trying to get out of paying for cleaning when the item was still dirty. Needless to say, I'll be taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more

Their prices seem reasonable and I have never had my clothes come back anything but perfect and on time. Parking is plentiful but it can be tough to find a spot in front of the store. So they are late on delivering. They didnt come on the day they said they would so I called and they said they will come thursday. Well they didnt show up. Finally on the day they do they just lay it on the floor at the front door. This is a elderly place and they expect elderly people can bend over and pick them up. I have used Frontier Cleaners for years and been satisfied. Last week I dropped off a brand new, worn once merino sweater because I had 2 tiny soup stains on it near the neckline. When I went in to pick it up a week later, the spots were gone but the sweater had a hole below where the stains had been. The woman at the counter (owner) implied that it must have been there. It was not and when I brought it in she examined the stains closely and certainly would have pointed out a hole close by. No restitution was offered except that they could try and patch it. Of course I did not pay for the cleaning, and most likely won't return to Frontier. read more

OK, based on the other reviews here it looks like I might get punched for this. But, WHAT? $23 to clean a simple blazer and dress with no pickup or delivery? Not a dirty blazer, not a fancy blazer, just a freaking jacket that was barely wrinkled. The dress, too, was as simple as they come; just a knee-length black dress with no fancy frills. I might have missed something here, but where I come from (i.e. here), it does not cost that much to clean two standard pieces. I wonder how much a silk scarf would be: $35? Sorry fellow Yelpers, but 1 star for decent cleaning job (i.e. I don't see new stains) and 1 star for the nice lady up front. read more

Based on other reviews I would agree, prices are reasonable and The woman who works the front counter, Diane, is extremely friendly. I had brought a few things here before and had a positive experience with timely turn around. Then came time to clean my wedding dress. When I dropped it off in September they said they were behind and it'd be several weeks. January comes and still no word. I'm in the area, so I stop in. "Oh, we are glad you came in. The tags fell off the dresses and I have a few I don't know who they belong to". Thankfully, nobody claimed my dress and it was cleaned properly. The gentleman tells me he's waiting for the preservation boxes. I explained that I didn't request a box, I requested the bag. "Oh I don't have those, I need to order them, I should have them next week and I'll give it at no charge" I called the following week, he said " not yet, I'll call you". It's now March (6 months since I dropped off my dress). I walk in and see my dress in the corner by the broom. "Oh I meant to call you, I still don't have bags, I'll call you". I explained I had been patient enough and would like to take my dress today. After he explained there was no difference for him keeping it there vs in my closet at home, I felt there was no longer a need to keep checking in with them. He told me not to store it in plastic. I requested the fabric bag I brought it in from the bridal shop. " oh I don't have that...we don't keep ". " I'll call you when I get those bags.... It's a shame" he said. 6 months I waited for my dress. If someone had kept me updated, I may be less frustrated. And for you to miss place the bag I brought it in is even more frustrating. I didn't receive a single call in the 6 months they had my dress, I'm not holding my breath that I'll get a call about a bridal dress bag either. read more

What an amazing experience! My mom has been getting all her drycleaning here for over a decade. Being a poor grad student, I've had little experience with drycleaning. My nicest slacks were doing this weird thing that the alteration place wanted $20 for to replace the whole zipper. I went into fronteir to see if a little steam press would fix it. Instead, the owner resewed the button holes right in front of me in 5 minutes for free. He told me about his family and it just might have been the most pleasant customer service experience I have ever had. My mom often tells me that they provide very affordable, perfectly done, overnight drycleaning. So just wow. Take all your clothes here. read more

I had gone to Frontier based on Yelp reviews to get a suede jacket cleaned. It was purchased in Italy and was probably the most expensive thing I owned, so it was critical to find a place I could trust. Like other cleaners, they outsource their leather/ suede cleaning. Frontier called me maybe a month later (I don't remember how long exactly) and I came in to get it. I looked at the jacket and it wasn't any cleaner - the edges were still dingy. It didn't look like their partner company had even touched it. So no problem - they apologized and were very willing to send it back again. After a few more months and a few times of me stopping in to see if it had come back, the jacket was still missing. Woo (the man at the front - owner? manager?) was super apologetic every time I spoke to him and told me he was committed to making it right. He tracked down the issue, and while he was unable to recover the jacket, he sent me a check to cover my cost to replace it. I could imagine other dry cleaners giving me a hard time about it not being their fault, or the cost to replace it. The people at Frontier were all nice and wanted to solve the problem. I was so impressed with Woo - he really does bend over backwards to put his customers first - I wish I got treated this way at all businesses! I now send my husband here to dryclean all his shirts even thought it's less convenient than other cleaners to our house. read more

I rarely give reviews unless I feel it's absolutely necessary because I figure most businesses are trying their best and looking out for their customers. I mean happy customers equal repeat customers right? In this case I must warn other potential customers of this place. I took in 7 shirts and 1 pair of pants to be laundered. When I came to pick it up the bill was over $40. Keep in mind this was not dry cleaning. Basically the bill came out $5 per shirt and $5 for the pants to be laundered!!!! When I asked for an explanation the lady there said it was because my shirts were fitted and they had to hand iron them because it didn't fit on their ironing machine. Seriously?!? These were casual short sleeve shirts. Nothing special about them. In fact I've taken these shirts to other dry cleaners and have never had this problem or been charged this much. Buyer beware.
