The machines to put money on the laundering cards were broken but they weren't marked. Thinking I was doing something wrong I created 3 cards and finally spoke to the attendant who got the washers going for me. I later got a refund but it was a big hassle. read more

This facility cannot be trusted. After loyal patronage to this laundromat over the past 5 years- my husband and I are taking our business elsewhere- up to Tamarack Coin Laundry to be exact. Jolly Clean's attendants do not keep a watchful eye of the scumbags that "frequent" this facility. After several times of the exact same experience- coming back to loads that are NOT dry (spending twice the time to ensure dry clothes) we have concluded two outcomes. Either their dryers simply DO NOT work, or the exact same group of SUSPECTS- who frequent on Sunday afternoons- can't afford $1.85- thus stealing our dryer time. It is quite pathetic. We have concluded that we cannot trust some of the folks (lowlifes) who also patronize this location. Attempting to kill two birds with one stone and going over to Lazy Acres to grab our groceries has bitten us in the behind on SEVERAL occasions and time after time, we have given Jolly Clean (and its patrons) the benefit of the doubt. We were ready to accept that their dryers were nearing the end of their lifetime- until we recognized the SAME dirtballs milling about their facility and also leaving behind a scent all over our clothes that is not consistent with our laundry detergent. One of the times- the scumbags forgot to shut the door to restart our cycle. Their prices have also gone up- totaling $30-$40 each visit to knock out a humble week's worth of laundry, nearing $160/month. Say what you want about necessarily having to stay in front of the machine to ensure a good experience, but we have NEVER experienced this at any other laundromat in the local area. read more

I've been coming here for years and over time I've had an issue here or there, but today was the end. I came with a few large blankets and several sets of sheets. At least 3-4 of the sheets had dirty looking marks on them in several areas that I only noticed after I dried them and started folding. I brought it to one of the attendants attention and all she did was shrug her shoulders at me. She suggested that I dragged them across the floor. There are a few other nicer laundromats in the area, but this one happens to be the closest to me. It's time for a longer drive for my laundromat needs. read more

Doing laundry here and as I'm folding clothes and would want to be close to my items, I need to use the restroom...they've always given tokens to customers but the lady pictured tells me it's a quarter...well, at a normal laundromat one might have a quarter but in one that requires you to get their specific laundry card to pay electronically, who the hell had a quarter?!?! So, I had to leave my wardrobe and belongings unattended for a lot longer to go search for a restroom at one of the businesses that I'm NOT currently a customer. Insane!!!! My washing machine broke the day before 4th of July and we had a party of 100 coming 2 days later. I was beyond desperate for help and Anthony came to my home on the 4th of July and picked up all my disgusting soaked laundry to have cleaned and folded and returned the next morning. This after I called another laundry service that said they were unable to help (it was after 4:30pm on July 3) and closed for holiday. First off, the price I paid to wash and dry here, I should've just stayed at the hotel and washed, but hey‍ whatever. It was alright I guess, nothing spectacular, no vending machines, arcade games, none of that type of stuff but you can wash for a pretty high price. The only good part is that I think the dryers are 60 cent or something like that, to wash on the other hand the cheapest is 3$ for a top loader‍. I had been going to this laundry mat for almost a year. I tend to use the same machines most of the time when available. On my LAST trip there I noticed that the machine I regularly use was not filling up with water as it usually did and that the same type of washer beside it, that I started at the same time, was filling fine. I went to the person on duty, she suggested I switch from hot to cold water temperature because it would allow the washer to fill faster. I explained that the washer was not filling at all and I chose hot because that's the temperature I desired. She was too busy talking to another person and dabbling at 'cleaning a sink'. So I did as she asked. The washer finally did fill with water but just kept washing, never going into the next cycle as the one beside it was. (Same style/type). Again I went and asked for help, the same attendant was still talking to the same person and said she would be there when she finished 'cleaning the sink', more like the conversation she was having with this other lady I thought to myself. My other load finished but the machine in question was totally stuck in the wash cycle. Since I wasn't able to get help with the attendant I called the number for the laundry mat and the owner answered. I explained to him the situation but he insisted that the lady knew the machines well and that she would help me when she could. He was put out and rude. I found that odd. He insisted that attendant would help when she could, that she had called him to apprise him of the situation. What situation? I needed help and wasn't receiving any. The washer had continued to wash my load for almost an hour and the attendant wasn't responding to my request for help. By this time my other load of laundry was dry! Finally the attendant came to see what the problem was and tried to stop the machine. Water went all over the place .In another conversation with the owner he told me I would get my load washed and dried for free. The attendant did put my laundry in another machine and it was washing, I am not sure she even added detergent because she did it without me being there. I would have added sanitizer too. So I had to wait for a different machine to wash my laundry. And as you might guess the attendant was no where to be found when It came to drying my cloths. All this could have been prevented if the attendant had cared to help me from the beginning. I had to stay at the laundry mat an extra 1 1/2 hours to get this second load washed and dried. Because it took so long I was not able to do my next intended arrand. My time is valuable but the owner of this establishment paid no attention to me. He was rude and did not care. But that's OK, I have found a different place to go. The parking and entrance is much better and the washers offer more options. The dryers dry the first time around where the ones at Jolly Clean didn't heat up well and it took twice as much time and money to dry. Oh yeah, it's cheaper too. So Jolly Clean laundry matt ....keep growing higher in your mind. read more

The machine to add money to the laundry card is always broken. Now both are broken and it only accepts cash. Many machines are regularly broken with out of order signs on them. Laundry detergent machine is also broken. Basically most things are broken. And they raised their prices. read more

Was my go to for many years for washing everything I cannot fit in my home washer/dryer properly. Last visit, the majority of the machines were not in working order. Since they went to the pay on a card system, the card always has a balance, you cannot use up the balance and it seems like a total rip off. You cannot combine card balances. Found it dirty this time too. Will try another in Encinitas next time. read more

I moved to Encinitas a few months ago and did not have a washer/dryer in my apartment. I asked my local dry cleaner if he had any good recommendations for a laundromat close by. Within seconds he had it on the tip of his tongue, "The best", he said, JOLLY CLEAN GIANT. He continued with how clean it was, how nice and big the machines were, not to forget the wonderful staff. The Fluff and Fold is amazing also and everything is returned to you just the way you requested it. Kindness goes a long ways in this world and there is an abundance of it in this laundromat. If you should be so fortunate to meet Anthony, you have made a friend. He goes out of his way to help you in any way he can and I have been the grateful recipient of that when my dog had to have surgery. My family and I totally love this place. for 16 years they have been our go-to for over-size loads, great machines and clean garmenents. Everything always works perfectly. Love the ambiance, the airflow with the back door open, and the huge machines. I go here to wash my dog's beds and stuffed animals he drags all across my home. There is a coin machine or Lazy Acres next door to get change. The place is not spotless but I never expect much from laundromats Price is decent as it only costs me about 6 USD to wash and dry my dog's beddings. Lazy acres next door has much to choose from in their fresh food section or just shop for groceries while waiting. Mediocre coffee is available in their "Living Room" stand inside. There is also a nail salon, sushi spot, açaí bowl, sandwich spot, and dentist surrounding this laundromat. So there are a variety of things to do while waiting for your laundry to finish. A short walk 5 minutes from the laundromat is a park you can walk your dog while waiting as well. read more

I used to love coming here, but close to half of the machines don't work. I was here earlier this week to dry a load of clothes. The machine I used didn't dry at all. It didn't even heat up. I spoke to the rep & she credited me towards another dryer. Today I decided to return to hopefully have a better experience but no. The ones that "did work " left the clothes damp dry!!! Convenient enough location and the card concept seems nice except when you travel permanently. I've collected handfuls of those $2 laundry cards which doesn't seem like much but it adds up (15 cards x $2 = $30 wasted on plastic that I'll never use again at that location. It just seems like a waste of plastic) Anywho, I'll opt for quarters going forward. The facility itself was average, nothing earth shattering in a positive or negative manner. I did find it disappointing though that you need quarters to use the bathroom. After reading the Yelp reviews, raving about the 'convenient' cards, I didn't stop to get quarters. I went in there ready to pee my pants only to find I couldn't use the bathroom because I didn't bring quarters. But, I could have worse problems. read more

Can you wash and dry your clothes here? Yes. Is it pretty and super clean? Meh. It's fine. I like that they have huge machines for mass blanket washing and the dryers can be plugged for 8 minute increments. Single washers are $2.25, 4 loads are $5, 6 load machines are $6 and 8 load machines are $8. There are soda machines and detergent dispensers, as well as quarter machines but I haven't used them. Wifi is not good, so don't expect to watch videos while you're here waiting. Oh, and if you want to use the bathroom, that's $.25 too. Not even joking. read more

Great location! Pretty clean has on site fluff and fold. Process: bring your credit card and leave your change at home. Use the vending machine to purchase a reusable card that you put any desired amount on the card. Then follow directions on screen. Take card and insert into whichever machine and follow instructions. Load laundry soap and 25 min later viola! Same with dryers. $4.00/load est. next door is a dive bar and a healthy grocery store also tabu sushi (personal fav) and some food in a bowl joint just opened! Oh!!! And there is a quality Barber as well! On the other side is DIY car wash and a stroll to the beach is less than 20 min walk old ENCINITAS. Check it out. read more

I read several of the reviews before coming to do my laundry here and I'm pleasantly surprised! This is a big, clean, and friendly laundrymat. I did not find one broken machine. Lazy Acres is next door and there is free, open wifi in the laundrymat. It's quiet and everyone here is very nice. If you are in this area, this is a great option. read more

Not even one star. I'm sorry to say that after using Jolly clean giant for four years, I will not be back. My last visit was disturbing. Jolly Clean has gone down the drain. The washers are dirty, many are not functioning. Prices are regularly higher. There are quite a few people there who are not doing laundry, but using the area as a phone charging and loitering station. I witnessed what I think was a drug deal drop off while I was waiting for my wash. The dryer shrunk my clothes and I had to discard several pieces. There was a man sleeping on the floor. The laundry card machines do not work properly; either not functioning or out of cards. The attendant doesn't understand. Bye-bye Jolly Clean. read more
