I recently moved into the area and was looking for the most convenient cleaners to my home. I brought in a very large bundle of drycleaning and laundry items. I was surprised that the female owner of the business immediately placed my items in a bag and then handed me a ticket stub--she did not count or describe in any way the items she received. I asked her if she was planning on counting the items and jotting down the number. She replied, "No, but you can count them if you want." She returned the items to me and watched as I counted the total number of men's pants, men's suits, ladies blouses, etc. I then had to ask to borrow a pen to write the count down as she did not offer to write anything down as I was counting. This was a Monday evening and when I asked when my items would be ready, she said, "Friday after 5pm." I was sort of surpised because I am used to a 48 hour turn around. On Friday, my husband arrived at 6:34 pm to find the doors locked and the lights out (closing time is 6:30 pm at this cleaners). When we did receive our drycleaning the first item I put on (a silk blouse) smelled like dirty laundry. It honestly smelled awful. I do not know if they used dirty drycleaning solution or cleaned my items with extra smelly items, but it was not pleasant. This business seems to be run by very lazy people who show no pride in their work and do not bother to assure their customers that any sort of tracking system is in place (sort of important when you are handing over $1000 business suits). I always like to give my business to "mom and pop" establishments, but I am now sending my drycleaning to the cleaners located inside the Vons (a couple of doors down from this establishment). I definitely will not return to Lomas Santa Fe Cleaners. read more
