BLUF: Trust Ellie. She exemplifies a young person that knows her job well, has excellent customer service skills, and legitimately wants to help clients. She, and from what my family members confirm is a trusted Service Department, are why you should consider purchasing from Priority Toyota. Ellie is a remarkable young professional at this dealership. She is knowledgeable and will work with you regarding financial manipulations, warranty packages, and a variety of other incentives. Salesman Dylan is new to the profession, but he is honest and has the drive to succeed. His integrity stems from previous military service. I believe Toyota buyers bank on brand reliability. Thus, the decision regarding where to purchase is related to variables that don't all have tangible metrics. Price points between dealerships won't vary too much in a geographic area. Consider what business model they use for sales? How customer oriented are their policies (e.g., state inspections, oil changes, detailing, etc.) Priority Toyota is worth my time and money. I recommend you give them a chance. And ask for Dylan and Ellie. read more

Dropped my vehicle off at 10am for an oil change. 3 HOURS later, I get their text with about $10,000 in repair suggestions. I decline them all. Just need the oil change today thanks. I see the progress online that it's almost complete. I called 4 times to my service agent. Went to voice mail every single time. I called the service department they forward me to someone and it goes to voice mail. I left several voice mails and nobody returns my call. I call sales department. Someone answers, transfers me to service and goes straight to voice mail. I call back ask for the manager, I get transferred to another voice mail. I'm just trying to get my car back before the weekend at this point. I cannot believe the level of ineptitude I experienced today. Definitely a 0/10 experience for a basic oil change. It's almost like they are holding my car hostage because I didn't agree to the $10,000 in repair estimates. Finally after 5-6 calls to the sales department, somebody apparently forwarded my call to a managers personal phone to which he asked, who gave you my personal number? How am I supposed to know that???? I didn't call him, someone forwarded me to him. He says he'll go over there and call me back. He calls back and says it's almost ready. At that point I finally get a text back from the service manager Destiny who says I texted during her break. So you mean to tell me this big dealership has no process to help someone while one of their many service managers is on break? So my repair took an extra hour and a half because someone was on an hour+ lunch break? This place has gone downhill over the last several years. I should've known it wasn't going to be good when I first get there and have to wait about 2 minutes for a group of employees, right in front of me, to end their seemingly hilarious conversation before someone finally acknowledged me. Not sure what's changed but I used to be about to get in an out for an oil change and a tire rotation in about an hour. Now it's 4-5 hours??? Dropped off at 10, final told that it's ready at 2:15pm??? Good thing I didn't stay there and wait for it to be done. When it does come time to replace my 2010 Toyota 4Runner, Priority Toyota of Chesapeake will not my high on my priority list. read more

Had a great experience at the Priority Toyota service desk. Russ Pena and his team took really good care of my vehicle. He kept me in the loop the whole time with updates on status and when everything would be done. Over the phone, he broke down all the findings in a way that was easy to understand--what it meant, what needed attention, and what the costs would look like. He was also quick to respond to texts, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Really appreciate the level of service. I'll definitely be going back to Russ and his team moving forward. read more

I'm a disabled veteran and j do my shopping online, I was looking to purchase a new car and filled out a credit application which I got pre approval for it was going ok until I told them what car I wanted and the down payment I could afford and I wanted to wrap what I owed into another car, I had already got the ok from my finance company, priority said we can work with that and I thought everything was ok that was until they decided not to answer my texts and let me know what was going on. Is it to much to ask to let me know the outcome instead of the silence. To this date no answer it wasn't like I was trying to buy a Bentley this was a 25k car I wanted. This is unprofessional and points to laziness and lack of initiative. I'll look elsewhere. read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST DEALERSHIP! All they care about is making a sale. They definitely don't care about making sure everything is accurate. If you come here for service prepare to wait your entire day to get your car back for a regular check up. Dropped car off right when they open at 8am, I have yet to receive a phone call, text, etc. when I call them they don't answer and it goes straight to voicemail. Not to mention the horrible customer service of the Chair Dwellers who sit up front in customer service and do nothing but yap. read more

I took my car in for an appointment for a 10K oil change and tire rotation at 11:30. The service advisor insisted that Toyota requires an engine flush at 10K miles. I had just left my purse (and phone) in the car and she kept insisting that I must get this done. I told her IF it's required service, I guess I have to do it. She told me it would be about 1-1.5 hours. I then found my car and got my purse and started checking for required maintenance. Nowhere in the handbook or on the website did Toyota state that an engine flush was required service. I tried to reach my adviser who was nowhere to be found. After 2.5 hours, I went to find my advisor. Unable to do so, I found someone who was willing to stop his conversation long enough to tell me it was in the service bay but hadn't been assigned anyone yet. I called Toyota about the engine flush. They said it's not a required service. They attempted to reach the service department and were unable to. After almost 5 hours, my car was ready. 5 hours! And they didn't even do the tire rotation because the service adviser said I didn't need one! She never even saw my car. Tire rotation is required. I was charged for an unnecessary service, couldn't reach the Service Manager and wasted my day at Priority. I followed up with a letter to the Service manager - no reply. I followed up with a letter to the President - no reply. Customer service at the Priority Service Department is horrible. Even worse, the Service manager and the President/CEO of Priority couldn't care less. read more

Do not - repeat, do not - buy Goodyear Tires from this dealership. Weeks ago, I purchased four tires from them - an $80 Goodyear rebate (in the form of a prepaid Mastercard) was part of the deal. I completed the on-line forms required by Goodyear. Days later, the claim was denied. Following the dealer's advice, I returned to the dealer and a person there opened a new account for me with Goodyear and he submitted the necessary documents. Two days ago, Goodyear said they clearer documents. I uploaded those requested documents. This morning, Goodyear denied the rebate. The dealer said they are unable to intervene on my behalf because I need to go through Goodyear. I called Goodyear at the number provided. left my number for a call back as per the voice prompt. The one-star review weighs heavily on Priority Toyota's business practices, morals, and professionalism. My fiancée was trading in her Chevy Equinox for a brand new TOYOTA RAV4 2026. We got it appraised, which came in at a range between $10,000 and $12,000, and we negotiated a deal for a $11,000 trade-in value on the Equinox. We got it in writing and signed an acknowledgement form with a verbal promise that if we do not add a bunch of miles to the Equinox while we are waiting for the delivery of the RAV4, the appraised value will hold. Fast forward 2 months -The RAV4 has arrived. So relieved because we were sharing a car or using an extra unreliable car that I have, as we didn't want to put extra miles on it or risk anything happening to her vehicle she was trading in. We went after work to pick it up, and Sarah couldn't have been more excited. We filled out the auto-loan application and were waiting on the results. Our sales rep then came out and informed us that they made a HUGE mistake when appraising her Equinox, and it is truly only worth $5,000. The appraiser marked it with 11,000 miles, when it actually had 111,000 miles on it. We have waited 2 months for her car, and we are now being told we need to pay $6,000 more. We did not have that in our budget. They offered us $2,000 off, but that was still a huge chunk of money we were not prepared to spend. Turns out there was no manager present in the building to help us that evening, so Sarah had to take off work the next day, burning her PTO, to come plead our case to the GM in hopes that they'd allow the deal to go through at the original asking cost. The GM gave us a few added discounts and some savings on extended warranties, but did not completely make up the difference for us from their enormous $6,000 mistake. These discounts were appreciated, but where our problem lies is that we were made to feel like we SHOULD be understanding of the $6,000 mistake they made. And we should be APPRECIATIVE and GRATEFUL that they are "helping" us and giving us a discount - aka fixing their mistake. They were sure to let us know they DIDN'T have to help us because, in the end, it was just human error and the mistake was not worth $6,000... They turned the value of their mistake from $6,000 to $4,000 by giving us that $2,000 discount. So true: no longer worth a $6,000 mistake, but now a $4,000 mistake. And they were surprised that we hadn't caught the mistake they made... making us feel like WE should be responsible for keeping THEM in check (we are not the professionals or experts here; they are). The fact that the GM made us feel ashamed and guilty for trying to rectify their mistake is beyond me. I was being the problem solver, providing multiple solutions on how to remedy the issue. I'm in sales; I'm in real estate; there is always a way to make a deal work & to fix problems. We understand mistakes happen, but as a (so-called) well-run corporation, we would have hoped that Toyota would have taken full ownership of the mistake and honored the deal we had made IN WRITING! We still wanted to say thank you to a few employees, Mark and Jorge, who had stepped in along the way and were very pleasant to deal with, and we appreciated it. Much better personality & seemed to care and did their best to help, but unfortunately they don't make the final calls. The sad part for us was walking out of the dealership with a brand new car that we should have been excited for, but after everything we had just experienced, we just didn't feel excited and wanted to get out of there and not deal with them any longer. ADVICE: Do not sell your car to Toyota, and if you do, thoroughly check the paperwork given to you before signing anything (not that it matters apparently). We will take our business elsewhere when we go to purchase our family car in 2-3 years. read more

I unfortunately did not have a good experience here . It was my first time ever servicing any car. I thought everything went smoothly, until i needed to get gas the next day and realized my gas door wasn't opening anymore. Which is ridiculous because it was working PERFECTLY before I took my car here.. whoever was working on my car handled it roughly so i had to pay an ADDITIONAL $85 to get it fixed... all because someone had roughhoused my vehicle. actually i think his name was gerard or something like that. I was highly disappointed with the wait time and the experience as a result. However my advisor was lovely. It's a shame. read more

EXCELLENT SERVICE! I had an outstanding experience at Priority Toyota in Chesapeake. I brought my vehicle in for routine maintenance and an oil change, and also requested a fuel injection service. From the moment I arrived, the process was smooth, professional, and transparent. Destiny was absolutely amazing. She clearly explained what was needed now, what could wait, and what I should anticipate in the near future. There was no pressure -- just clear communication and excellent customer care. She kept me informed from the moment I stepped out of my vehicle until the time I drove off after service, which I truly appreciated. This is not the "old" Priority Service experience. There is a new manager, and it shows. Jose is fantastic and accessible. If something seems unclear or untoward, he will speak with you directly and ensure everything is handled appropriately. The professionalism, communication, and overall customer experience were top tier. I highly recommend Priority Toyota Chesapeake for service. read more

I had an excellent experience at Priority Toyota, and a big part of that was working with Mr. Dykes. From the moment I arrived, he provided outstanding customer service. He patiently showed me any and every vehicle I wanted to see, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and never made me feel rushed or pressured throughout the process. What truly stood out was his professionalism paired with genuine kindness. He was not only attentive to me as a customer, but also incredibly kind and respectful to my young adult son who was with me. That meant a great deal to me and speaks volumes about his character. Mr. Dykes is the consummate professional while still being very personable and approachable. Car buying can be stressful, but he made the entire experience smooth, comfortable, and even enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend asking for Mr. Dykes if you're visiting Priority Toyota. He represents the dealership extremely well. read more

Car Buying Experience Was Unacceptable From Start to Finish: I have purchased many vehicles over the years, and this was by far the worst dealership experience I have ever had, from the initial purchase process, to vehicle delivery, to ongoing communication failures, and now the inability to properly process permanent tags and registration. Sales Process: The sales representative was simultaneously working with multiple customers at the same time, causing the purchase process to drag on for hours with excessive waiting, confusion, and no clear communication about where we were in the process, despite having scheduled our appointment in advance. On several occasions, I had to physically locate the salesperson just to determine why nothing was happening or what the next step was supposed to be. Vehicle Delivery Failures: Even after the unusually long purchase process, the vehicle was not ready by the end of the day. We were required to keep the trade-in vehicle, yet Priority still demanded proof of insurance on the new vehicle before paperwork could be completed or before we were even allowed to meet with the finance manager. Delivery was delayed an additional two full days due to the need for tires, which was identified during inspection. Communication throughout this period was poor to nonexistent, with repeated assurances of "a few hours," "later today," or "later this afternoon" that were never honored. The vehicle was ultimately not delivered until the third day. Communication Issues: Contacting the dealership by phone is extremely difficult. Calls frequently disconnect after selecting a menu option, particularly when choosing Sales. When someone does answer, the response is almost always, "I'll leave a message and have them call you back," calls that never happen. Managers repeatedly state they will "look into it and call back," and then fail to follow through. Tag & Registration Failure (Most Serious Issue): Unfortunately, the problems did not stop after delivery. Despite explicit instructions on the bill of sale to TRANSFER existing North Carolina tags, Priority incorrectly requested new tags instead. As a direct result of this error, we received a DMV delinquency notice for failing to turn in old tags, an issue entirely caused by Priority's mistake. Now, nearly 45 days later, we are still being given the runaround regarding where the permanent tags are and when they will be issued. Multiple managers have promised callbacks that never occur. Voicemails go unanswered. We are repeatedly sent to voicemail and told someone will call back "in a few minutes," which does not happen. After calling repeatedly for over an hour and repeatedly requesting a manager, we finally received a return call only to be told, "Sorry, we have been busy." It appears the dealership is only attentive while closing a deal and then becomes unavailable when it is time to complete the remaining responsibilities. We have now been told multiple times that nothing can be done because the titling department was "closed," with no follow-up the next day as promised. This has occurred at least three separate times. We are also being told the issue is the responsibility of the titling department, which Priority claims does not work directly for them. That is not the customer's problem. Accountability: We purchased the vehicle from Priority, paid a $999 processing fee, and Priority is responsible for ensuring that the title and permanent tags are processed correctly and in a timely manner. Passing blame internally does not absolve the dealership of its responsibility to the customer. Bottom Line: This experience demonstrates systemic failures in staffing, communication, accountability, and follow-through. At this point, we are simply asking Priority to do what they were paid to do: correctly process the title and issue permanent tags without further delay. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Priority to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle. read more

Met with sales rep David Mendez on 05/21/26 and siged an agreement to purchase a new 2026 Tundra Hybrid 1794 edition. I gave the dealship a downpayment of a thousand dollars to secure the truck as it was in transit. This was my second visit to the dealship as I had gotten a better price from another dealer and asked ithey would match it, as I have purchased three other vehicles from Priority dealerships in the recent past. The sales manager Nicholaus was the manager that approved the purchase. Today I received a call that Priority would not honor the agreement as Toyota had change their rebate to the dealership. Priority expected me to absorbe their loss. The sales rep was in a meeting and kept texting me about the great deal I was getting. I drove to the dealership and was met by a VP who took my paperwork to a senior sales manager named David. He insulted me and said I didn't understand what a rebate was. I explained that I didn't care about the rebate as I had an agreed price and had made a deposit and wanted the truck. After refusing to honor the deal, I asked for my check back. He didn't have it and said it would take 5-7 days to get one issued and mailed to me. Be warned don't do business with these guys as their word means nothing. read more

I brought my truck in for a repair that was out of my wheelhouse. I wanted the assurance that it would be done right and with oem parts by going to the dealer. I had the pleasure of working with RoSean. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, he answered all my questions and gave me reassurance without hesitation. Their online tracker is amazing, yet RoSean took it a step further by visiting my vehicle in the tech's bay to call me and talk me through an unforeseen event (of my own doing haha, sorry y'all). I also want to highlight Priority Toyota Chesapeake's parts department for having what I need time and time again. Especially today in order for my vehicle to be serviced same day. If I were to knock anything about my experience, it would be the person who answered the phone after hours. They gave me the impression the department was open, took down all of my information and promised I'd receive a call back. Call never came, but I brought the truck in anyways considering it could've been a serious problem without immediate attention. What a crappy dealership. My son made a 0730 appt for his 50k maint check (multi-point inspection; "free" oil change. Well I show up at 0700; service writer says that all techs in a meeting until 0800. So why did they offer a 0730 appt? Also, the "free" oil change is a bait-and-switch. Told that they don't do "free" oil change until 10k or 1-year. Then they say it needs tire rotation; that's $75. So 2.75 hours later I'm still sitting here. Do NOT use Priority Toyota in Chesapeake, VA. Go someplace else. Update: 3.5 hours and it's still not done. Priority Toyota blows; it's not good enough to suck. Where do I start. I only gave them 1 star because Yelp will not let you rate any lower. I made the mistake of buying a car here..I got suckered in by the "priority for life" pitch. My buying experience was terrible and took forever. The salesperson was nice enough, but to actually close the deal was a 2 and 1/2 hour slog through hell. Only after I signed all the paperwork, did they tell me I was only going to receive one key to the car, no warning, nothing. They know it's going to be such bad news, that they bring someone else in just to deliver it, of course only after the "deal was done." I should have known then, I should have walked away. I then brought my car in for service because "priority for life", right? I went in for an oil change. I made an appointment and took it in a little early to make sure I did my part to help keep them on schedule. After two hours, they still hadn't touched the vehicle. Their excuse was it was an exceptionally busy day. Fair enough, but that's why we make appointments. The service manager ended up giving me a rental car and they were going to address a recall issue. I am now going on my third week waiting on the car. When calling to check on the status of the vehicle, it's next to impossible to talk to an actual person. I have left messages for the management and they don't return calls, which demonstrates how they feel about their customers. I now think "priority for life" is more like "sentenced to life" read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Recently purchased a used vehicle from their lot on July 12th after spending 6 hours in this stealership. This car was brought in on trade. Struck a deal but I wanted a few things corrected on the car. Signed the papers and was planning on picking up in a few days. Recieved a phone call that the issues with the car were essentially too expensive to fix on their dime. Instead of correcting this issues with the car, they ended up calling off the deal and giving me my money back. They are so focused on moving cars they didn't care to find out what they are selling is safe and reliable. The icing on the cake is that the manager didn't care to acknowledge me when I came back for my check. This place is a joke. I communicated with a woman last night that works there about going and looking at a vehicle today (Sunday). I spoke with her this morning and she said that she would have a vehicle ready for me to test drive I showed up and nobody was ready at all. The vehicle hadn't even been inspected yet and they couldn't find the keys or get a hold of them. If I knew the vehicle hadn't been inspected yet, and they couldn't even find the freaking keys, I would've never driven two hours and wasted my time to come look at this vehicle. I was ready to purchase this vehicle today and they seem to care less. I didn't even get a chance to test drive it and even if I did it wouldn't have been ready to take home today. DO NOT SERVICE YOUR VEHICLES AT THIS DEALERSHIP! As a former member of the automotive industry who has worked in both service and sales, I can't speak for the sales side of this business, but service is awful. I made an appointment for 8:30am this morning and am now rearranging my entire day because I didn't think I'd still be waiting for my truck until noon... I could've purchased the materials and done the job myself. But alas, perhaps it's the state inspection I asked for... it gets better. Service advisors have to actually pick up the phone and call their customers to authorize repairs, or in my case, get up from their desk and walk to the waiting area where I've been sitting all morning-- and your car sits in limbo until they attempt to upsell you on whatever crap your probably don't need-- so, at 11:30 after hearing nothing from my advisor, who is the 'assistant service manager', I went back there to check on progress. I already knew there was about a 99% likelihood my truck was sitting in limbo, but I like to give people the chance to do their jobs. Lo-and-behold, 'so there's some notes from the tech, blah blah, I'll tell him you're in a hurry'-- she didn't call me and put this on the back burner, which you do to drop-offs, not to people sitting in your waiting room. Again, I know the tricks of the trade. All she had to do was walk about twenty-five feet to the waiting area, ask me if I wanted the fog lights to pass, push the brake flush I don't need, approve a line on Reynolds and send me on my way! Can't find the customer or feeling a bit lazy? Call them or text them, every dealer under the sun has those capabilities in 2023. If it sounds like basic operations, it is. I have probably been sitting in this waiting room for hours due to that conversation not happening, which is a fault of the advisor and the service department, not the customer. What really got me was the 'I'll let the tech know you're in a hurry'. When I was writing service, I would've never uttered that statement to a customer who had been sitting in my waiting room for an oil change and inspection for 3.5 hours. Thank you Jesus for keeping me from causing a scene. If I was in a hurry, you'd have known about it around 10, 1.5 hours into this appointment when I roughly estimated the truck would be done. Also, your porters snapping pictures of people's vehicles for initial inspections and asking people to sign off of them without reviewing anything is a dishonest business practice. Customers should accompany the initial inspector around their vehicle and be fully involved in that process. 'Hey sign this' with no explanation as to what it is, why, or who this kid is or why he matters, shows your service department doesn't bother to explain operations to entry-level employees. Well, I'm still waiting... EDIT: GOT MY VEHICLE AFTER DEMANDING IT AT 12:15! With a missing hubcap! This entire experience was unsatisfactory. I hope your doors close, cause this is not a good example of what a dealership should be. read more

After not being able to get help from anyone I originally dealt with and being passed around to get no answer or just people that could not help i finally got transferred to an amazing person in finance. I want to commend Shelby Christopher (I hope I spelled it correct) for taking the time to make sure I had the results and answers that nobody else could take the time to find. A true professional that cares about the customer and not just making a sale. Thank You Shelby, I give you a 5 not the Priority sales team or the person in finance that did the paperwork. read more
