Service department is always professional and courteous! With or without an appointment wait times were shorter than expected.

Brought my car in for an oil change and break flush. They found out my bearing in my strut was leaking and ordered the part and took care of it. Whole thing I was in and out under 2 hours. Tae Hwang does an amazing job there! Def see him to take car of your car read more

Read the other reviews for this business and was surprised at how badly they rated this business: it's almost like we are going to two different dealerships! I'm sorry that those who rated this business with 1 star had a horrible experience. That blows. I guess I'm lucky? Anyway, I bought my 2008 Honda Civic here brand new after comparing prices at other dealerships. I was armed with research before I even dealt with any sales person. I love Hondas - good gas mileage and the performance is awesome. It can last a while as I was driving a 1993 Honda Accord EX (which I bought used at a non-Honda dealership) for 15 years until I got tired of paying maintenance to keep up with it, plus it was very old and I wanted something different and new! I didn't pay the sticker price and while the salesman was at his game of selling me upgrades, I held on to my paperwork -- playing dealerships against each other with the pricing proposals they've given me --and even getting an additional $2,000 off the price Priority Honda originally offered. The sales process was painless for me (it was probably painful for the salesman as he saw his commission dwindle but I KNOW he still made money!). There is this stigma about dealerships and buying cars, especially how they con women. But if you come prepared and armed with information and you stick to your guns on how much you want to spend and adhere to that budget, then you'll have a better experience because you control the transaction and not the other way around. Overall, the sales process was an easy, pleasant experience (other than I now have monthly car payments!). I didn't feel haggled at all. What they quoted me monthly is what I paid, nothing more and nothing less. So from the very first encounter with this business, up to the general up-keep of my car - coming in for oil changes (which is free BTW and that's awesome!) and other maintenance - the staff have been friendly and professional. The service staff - Red Team - are great! Luis Vu, the service manager is very nice and personnable. One time I took my car for an oil change and they had to rotate the tires but I discovered I didn't have my wallet with me (had changed purses the night before) and he said I can pay the next time I'm in or can call on the phone with my payment. Now that's great customer service! Also, when I visit and they find maintenance issues with my car, they don't haggle me with fear tactics of must-do-this-now or you'll-die. I always ask for a price quote and order of priorities of what must get done first, and they oblige. The customer center area (lounge) is very clean and is filled with amneties from Starbucks coffee machines (a plus for this java junkie), massage chairs, theater, three computer workstations with one functioning as a business center area (enclosed private room with ample desk space, a conference phone and 2 extra chairs should you conduct meetings while waiting), which by the way, where I am now typing this review. They also have free manicures should you come visit on Wednesdays. I also like that you can schedule your maintenance visits online at http://www.priorityhondachesapeake.com/appointment.php and the email service reminders. I only have good things to say about this business. Hopefully, they keep going above and beyond so they don't lose me as a customer and that they treat their customers of all scopes the same way so they all get the same pleasant experience I've had! Oh, and I took my cousin to buy her car here as well. Of course we shopped around but found that again, this dealership offered the best option for her. Funny thing though is that the sales people remembered me (I asked for the same guy, Bill Parker though he no longer works here) and he joked that perhaps he shouldn't be my sales guy and get somebody else as I'm dangerous with the calculator. Hahaha. The only complaint I have though is their shoddy, fluctuating internet! And ATT's coverage here is pissy but that's not Honda's fault! read more

Can't rate the whole organization, but Jack B. and Lance were great to work with. Jack wasn't the pushy salesman type and gave us time to discuss and think things over. He worked with us on price and was a pleasure to work with. Lance was a straight shooter when it came to the finance piece, and again gave a time and space to think through things. We felt really comfortable making our purchase and appreciated their service. read more

I love this dealership! I bought my Civic back in 2009 and have had a good experience almost every time I go in. I love the free oil changes and state inspections for life. I have had one or two unhappy experiences with some of the reps in the service department so I can't give this review a 5 star, but there are some really great people in the service area, like Justin Fox, that make every call and trip in a very pleasant experience. I recommend this dealership and service department. They are great! read more

I moved out of town so I booked an appointment for this location for the earliest I could for an oil change. My appointment was for 3 but I dropped my car off around 2. Besides the oil change I wanted them to try to figure out why my car wouldn't remote start anymore and get a complementary car wash. Around 415ish they call me saying they are still working on my car but they are closing at 5 so they wanted me to head back. Then around 5 minutes later I get a call back saying they couldn't figure out the problem and to come get my car. So I went to pick up my car and the first thing I notice was I didn't get a car wash. So at the end of the day I got no solution, no car wash, and no oil change sticker. I'm disappointed. This is the only time I ever had a problem with priority. read more

Women Beware!!! Another rip-off Service Department! Questionable and unethical business practices here. I would avoid this dealer and service department. My wife took her 2008 Honda Civic in for routine maintenance. They changed the oil and filter, etc. Air filter changes all around (engine and climate) were recommended and approved. My wife called me at work to let me know that they were recommending flushing something, as well, which would raise the tab a bit. Sure, as expected. (The reason she consulted me, just to be clear, is not that she can't make decisions on her own, actually, she's very independent and intelligent. The reason she contacted me, is that I just happen to be an ASE certified Master Automotive Technician.) She likes taking care of her own car so I don't have to. I had seen previously, in the vehicle's maintenance documentation, that Honda Motor, Inc recommended a Brake System flush every 3 years, and assumed this was the service the dealer was referring to. Of course I said "yep, that sounds right". So she authorized the additional maintenance. Imagine my surprise when she showed me the invoice later that evening. The additional services that had been performed were NOT on the recommended (by Honda) list. The Engine Flush is specifically recommended AGAINST on the Honda Owners' website. (Mind you, this car has 29,500 miles on it, and is maintained religiously) 1. Engine Flush, labor: $71.47 Flush kit $30.48 2. Fuel Injection service, labor: $69.95 Service kit: $30.00 plus taxes, disposal fees, etc. Added quite a bit to my bill. After calling the service advisor, Louis Vu and discussing my dissatisfaction over mickey-mouse profiteering practices, at the expense of real maintenance requirements, he apologized, and expressed regret over the loss of a customer (and all of my family and neighbors and co-workers, and anyone else I can reach) BTW: My wife loves the car. It's exceptionally well made. We'll just won't be dealing with the Priority Group in the future. read more

Don't buy a car here thinking you'll get oil change for life. We moved to MD and try to get it done when we are down here but can NEVER get an appointment. Even when we lived here, it had to be scheduled so far in advance it didn't work. We've been able to get it done exactly ONE time since buying the car 7 years ago. This week we are visiting and since the oil light came on we called Monday about bringing it in. The guy said they were booked (of course) but bring it in one morning and leave it all day and they would squeeze it in. Went this morning and couldn't even leave it, said they couldn't do it. 30 min drive each way . We love Southern Jeep at Greenbrier- they have an oil change line you can go thru. read more

My review is for the service I received from Ricky in the service dept. We had just received information that my m.i.l was in the hospital again and knew we needed to go see her. Problem was, she is in AZ and we have 4 children! There was no way we were flying so we needed to drive but car would be due for service over the next week. I called to try and schedule service but they told me they were booked and nothing was available for another few days. I went in, clearly out of sorts, and asked if there was anything they could do. Ricky stated that there were no spots available but that he would go and check with a technician to see what they could do. He went above and beyond when he could have just plainly stated sorry, nothing we can do. I had to wait a while but was extremely thankful for the understanding and effort on Ricky's part! Thanks for caring and our 5,000 mile round trip went w/o a hitch! And mom's home too!! read more

I was very pleased with the customer service and attention detail. I took my dad's car in for service and a recall - my service advisor Ed B was awesome and very attentive to what we needed to what needed to be done to the vehicle. First of all, I don't "love" car dealerships and I don't care for the drama of sales contracts and service repairs either. I believe that many of the poor reviews are a result of unexpected repair costs as well as unrealistic expectations. In all my car buying / servicing over the last 45 years, this dealership has the best service and sales departments that I have encountered. I've checked out competitors for service pricing and Priority was almost always the lowest priced. I've never had extended waits for service appointments and have found the staff friendly and efficient. The waiting area is clean and comfortable. My positive experiences with the service department made my decision to purchase a new car from the dealership a no-brainer. I found the sales staff equally friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. The sales staff isn't "pushy" and take as much time needed to help you make the best choice. My salesman (Stephen McCall) was especially patient with me because I had difficulty resolving what I thought I wanted vs. what would make me happy -- and I'm very pleased with my new vehicle. This dealership certainly makes the hassle of purchasing / servicing my vehicles much more pleasant. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN ALL OF HAMPTON ROADS!!!!!!! The service department is extremely unorganized and rude!!!! I have bought multiple cars from different priority dealerships, and this one by far has the worst service department. They are more focused on their personal lives and not on the customer!! This is an issue I have seen for over 3 years, and it still has not been fixed. It is the same people every time. Either get new staff or retrain them! Do you really want your staff to leave this kind of an impression on your customers? They are the face of your company! Priority Honda - 2016 Honda civic lx - Car Dealers Near Me - Chesapeake, Virginia

See all

Had an appointment for an oil change, still waited 2 hours. Not happy with the service department.

The vehicles they sell are wonderful because they are Honda's... that being said, the customer service is falsely advertised as great and both service and sales management are lacking. Sales people and service dept employees are all accommodating and friendly. Service takes an absurd amount of time and they don't follow through with any promises made. I will purchase my next Honda elsewhere. Very disappointing. read more

I wish I could give NO STARS. Worst experience NEVER EVER AGAIN. Thought of getting my second priority vehicle, clearly NOT. Manager tried selling a USED Accord for a New Car Price. Had my spouse been present he would've slugged the manager for his RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL behavior towards me. I knew what the car was worth before coming in and he didn't appreciate it. Stated that I did my homework but was misguided... so you're saying you paid $17k for a used car nope someone would've been fired if you did. Best believe when you raise your hand to someone and say "this conversation is over" and leave the table without looking at your customer and giving a handshake like a true MANAGER and bottom line GENTLEMAN, that you have LOST A CUSTOMER FOR GOOD! Your salesman Brad was so polite, so why didn't you have any manners Mr.Manager (whose name escapes me at the moment)))???? read more

If I could leave no stars, I would. Buying a car from them has been a living nightmare. After buying our 2015 Toyota Sienna we decided to splurge and purchased the extra car detail package(outside paint under warranty, interior under warranty, and undercarriage under warranty) we were told if it got any scrapes or dings it would be covered along with all weather damage. We later found out that was not true at all. My van got scratched on the bumper then they decided to tell us that only weather damage and natural damage were covered. We ended up realizing that spending that extra money was a HUGE mistake. I live over 80 miles away from this dealership and had to travel to them 3 times because they couldn't even detail my van properly! They "cleaned" my van before I left because you have to schedule an appointment for the "car detail package" to be done. When arriving home with my new van we found old melted twizzlers and a moldy food item under the drivers seat. This was after it had been cleaned out. I was very upset. I just spent all this money on a vehicle to drive it home and find it extremely dirty in areas you couldn't see right away. My appointment for the package detail was a few days away. Dropped the van off and they gave me a rental. It was a Honda CRV. (I was not happy about that. I just bought a minivan for a reason) I came back a couple days later to realize that someone did a half booty job on it. There were still stains in the carpet and in the seat, not to mention the grossness in the rear seat tracks. Looked like melted gummies and crumbs everywhere. It smelled clean, but it was far from clean. After spending $1,600 dollars I should've been able to lick my car it should've been so clean. After finally getting their attention because I was so angry they had a specialized car detailer come out to clean my vehicle. I also requested to have a minivan this time because the CRV was too small. They gave me a 2016 Honda Odyssey. I had to wait a week to even get my vehicle back. It was ridiculous service. That was in August of 2016. Now in August of 2017 I'm having MORE terrible customer service. I've been calling for over 3 days trying to get in touch with their finance department. I had to call another Priority location to even get someone's attention that I was furious with this company's customer service. I finally got the name and number of the finance department's manager at the Honda Chesapeake location from a completely different priority location. I finally called and he wasn't at his desk so it bounced back to the receptionist. She told me she was going to hand deliever my name and number and have him call me. This was around 11am. I waited a couple hours giving him the benefit of the doubt that he was with a customer then possibly went to lunch. Well it has now been 4 hours and no call back. Needless to say, I'm going to corporate. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. read more

We were just at this location and planned on purchasing a 99 Toyota Avalon for a secondary, simple vehicle since we just had our first kid a couple months ago. Listed online for 2499 and we have the cash and ready to go. I've been communicating through Facebook messenger and last night and this morning I was texted by a person named Anthony Stanley about coming into the dealership. Last text I received was around 9-10 am from him. Get there close to 11am and then was told that a) the sales manager would not allow the car to be sold b) it had mechanical problems c) they didn't want me to contact the news?! In addition, Mr.Stanley just stops mid sentence and walks away when telling me about a trade-in going for the same price of around 2500. A few minutes later he approaches me saying he pulled around the recent trade-in Acura so I can look at it. Reluctant and a little annoyed, I proceed to go outside with him. As I'm looking and asking questions, he's on his phone texting. Nice professionalism you have, Mr. Stanley. I really feel like a customer who is a "priority". Sadly I already have a 2018 Elantra with Priority Hyundai... had it not been for our current car, I would not do business with any of you. You just proved to me that people are only a priority if they are there to give you all big sales and commission. Simple steps could have been taken to avoid all this and not waste our time. You know like contacting me saying the vehicle was no longer available to be sold ( even though you said you had no way of contacting me but you texted me this morning ). Also, you might want to remove the ad so others don't write negative reviews like I am this moment. Also, learn to lie better if you're going to be a car salesman. read more

Absolutely the worst car buying experienced I've EEEEEEVVVVVVEEEEEEERRRRRRRR dealt with, all due to the lack of communication from the finance lady LYNDIA ROBERTS. We will NOT be doing anymore business with Priority Honda of Chesapeake if that lady has ANYTHING to do with a deal!!!!! This has been and continues to be the worst car purchasing experience I have ever had. After signing 3 contracts and finding out that almost all employees we dealt with initially had quit and moved on the comedy of errors continue. Things that occurred include, 1. The finance manager added GAP insurance to our contract when we did not agree to it and did not trade a car in. 2. After 45 days and not receiving any paperwork to make our 1st payment, the delearship told us to call the finance company. After going back and forth and making numerous calls, we were informed by the delarship the paperwork had been lost for the second time. Priority claims "it was lost in the mail" The general sales manager, Matt Siefert offered to come to our house and sign paperwork due to the ongoing poor customer service and the fact that a payment should have been pending. While signing the 3rd contract, I noticed one document had someone else's name on it. We were told we did not have to sign that document and not to worry. Today , in my mail, I received a check made out to the incorrect name on the document we never signed ? While in our home Matt Siefert committed to call us in 2-3 days with an offer of reconciliation for all of the errors that were made on their end. 13 days has now past and we have not received any call. I have expressed many times that I concerned about identity theft with them losing the paperwork and requiring us to resign 3 contracts. No one has even attempted to discuss this concern with me. One has to wonder why all of the employees have left and what they took with them. Aside from all of the issues with paperwork and lack of returned calls when we bought our vehicle we were told it was to late in the evening and they would call us to return for an explanation on how to operate the electronics in the vehicle. Again no one ever called . The story is truly endless and I could go on but my point is automobiles are to expensive for this type of customer service. Take your business elsewhere! read more

Horrible experience! Wasted my Sunday! I had the car picked out. Only hold up was the APR on the loan. I called the next day and talked to the salesman. He said he would call me back later after talking to his manager. After waiting all day he called back and said they had sold the vehicle. I took my Honda CR-V to Priority Honda in Chesapeake recently for routine maintenance...an oil and filter change along with a tire rotation. I received a phone call an few hours after dropping it off saying that the lug nut on the front right side tire was stuck and the only way to fix the problem was to bust it off and replace it. I was also told that this happened because the lug nut was tightened too much by the previous person who rotated the tires. The price to fix this problem was going to be over $400. I explained that I only get my vehicle serviced at Priority (although normally the location in Hampton) and that if something was wrong, it is because one of their technicians failed to properly do their job. I was also informed that they ran a Carfax report and that my vehicle was at another mechanic ten days ago. My car has not been taken to the place in question in over 3 years but the person on the phone insisted that I had to have taken it there and it was their fault the lug nuts were destroyed. I spoke to a service manager and got everything taken care of, but the fact that something happens like this EVERY SINGLE TIME I bring my car to this specific location is ridiculous. In the past I have also paid them to align my car and rotate the tires, a job I was charged for but it was not actually completed. Although this location is much closer to where I live than the Hampton location, I will be carrying my car to Hampton from now on to avoid further problems like this in the future. It's inconceivable how major problems come up every time I'm at this service department and I never have issues anywhere else. This says a lot about the management and the technicians. They really need to get this under control read more

We had a good experience with purchasing a new Accord here, so I came back to look at used CR-Vs. I was nervous because J. was overseas and he had handled previous dealings. I told him about the car I was looking at and he found an online ad with the same VIN at a lower price. The salesman got a quick OK to honor the online price even tho it had been in error. They backed up the good deal with top notch service-- above and beyond. I was not happy with the ride but thought I was just having trouble getting used to a CR-V after my Lexus. They replaced a tire but the ride still didn't feel right. So they replaced ALL FOUR tires with Michelins. They were also very persistent in correcting a balky seat latch which made it hard for me to put the rear seat back up after folding it down. 2 purchases plus service experience over a 5 year period, 5 stars all the way. read more

2.0 out of 5.0 Worst car buying/lease experience ever! by Brannon from Chesapeake, Virginia | October 23, 2015 Let me start out by saying that the only thing positive about our experience was the Salesman, Danny Lopez. He was informed, not pushy, helpful and attentive. However, the rest of the experience was the worst. First of all we were promised a quick transaction that ended up taking nearly five hours. Then the finance person was not knowledgeable and could not answer our questions and referred us to the manager who was patronizing and condescending responding to our questions. I almost walked out in the middle of that conversation but we were too eager to get out of there. Then we never received paperwork from either the financing institution or Priority concerning payments , etc. It was two days before our first payment, we surmised, would be due and still no word and my phone calls and emails were not returned. I did everything possible to get this transaction in order with no help from the dealership. The finance person promised to return my calls and did not so I called what I thought was the proposed financing agency and they had no record of our transaction. In one instance that I did get the finance person on the phone he gave the excuse for all the delay in getting our paperwork in to the finance company as their "being backed up." Eventually we did hear from the dealership with a letter informing us that we would be turned over to collections if our payment was not made within five days! We would be turned over to collections mind you when we had done everything possible to get this straightened out!!! I was angry and did get the finance person on the phone again and really let him know what I thought about the whole transaction. To top this whole bad experience off , we were informed during the purchasing process that our personal property tax would be due next June as usual. We made the purchase this June 2015. However, we just got a bill from the city of Chesapeake on Oct. 12 informing us that our property tax was due by October 29!! And it was a large amount! I have already informed this dealership that we would never purchase from them again because of this experience and that we would be turning our leased car in just as soon as our obligation was met. I hate to write bad reviews but this last thing with the personal property tax was just too much. There are other dealerships that are much better informed and better at servicing their customers so we will be looking for one of those next time. read more

******** DONT BUY A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY OR ANY PRIORITY***** BE AWARE OF ALL THE LIES!!!!!! I bought my car from Priority there service is the worst !! I took my car in June to have oil change left it there all day while I worked went back at 530 they could not find my car and when they did the service person had put my car in the back as if I traded it and NEVER did the service and gave it back to me as if they did the work NONE of the cleaning or changing the oil was done so of course I had to bring it back and leave it again AND my paint is flaking off the car!! When I call the dealer an told them about this they told me it was not there problem to call Hyundia that this was there problem SO once again I was going back and forth with Priority general manager Tom and the rude executive secretary Cynthia of Dennis Ellmer who she refuse to let me have a meeting with so he could see how the paint is just flaking off the car. One of there service managers told me that the car paint job was missing a step the primer and the paint would continue to flake off but they refuse to repaint the car and also told me that there was a class action law suite against Hyundia for the paint flaking off but Priority was not going to do anything to help me go through my insurance the warranty has expired. I have left hundreds of messages for Dennis Ellmer he has not once call or agreed to meet me to see my car I have even sent picture NO RESPONSE!!! this company does not care about customer once you leave with your car THIS COMPANY DOES NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY OF THERE ACTION THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND A POSSUM TO THIS COMPANY!!! Took my '05 CRV for an oil change on 5/12/16. Later that night, car began making a funny noise that it'd never made before. I called back & was told to bring the car back in & they'd inspect it to see what the problem was. I scheduled that follow-up for 5/19. However, on 5/17 the noise became worse & my car broke down on me at the gas station. I thought I was out of gas because the gas light was on, even though that was still unusual because I know how many miles I can travel after the gas light comes on. I had the car towed to Priority Honda Chesapeake where I was told the next day that the noise I heard was from a broken AC compressor. I asked if that effected the car's drivability and was told no. I asked why the car broke down & was told it was a coincidence. Five minutes after I hung up, Amy Ewell called back to say the car broke down because I was out of gas. The charge for a new AC compressor would be $1500. I went two days later to pick up my car without the repairs since the car could work without the AC. Amy had told me there would be no charge. Yet, they tried to charge me $131 when I went to get the car. I refused & they dropped the charge. I drove the car not three blocks up the road, filled it with gas, & the car broke down AGAIN! Since my brother was trailing me in his car, we switched vehicles & drove his car & my car to his home. My car continued to cut off for the entire ride. I called Amy the next day & she seemed surprised that I was still having issues with my car. She told me to have my car towed in, once again, so that they could take a look at it. I expressed that my car was cutting off even though it had a full tank of gas & that I wasn't pleased with that. She said, and I quote, "now that your car has a full tank of gas, we can really see what's going on with it". I'm guessing she said that with a straight face. My car was towed to their dealership for a second time. Diagnosis? When I drove my car off the lot, I made the problem worse, per Amy, & the entire system was contaminated so the new cost of repairs would be $4500! The problem with that is that my brother had spoken to Firestone after my car cut off when I drove it off the lot & it cut off on me. We knew that the entire system would need to be replaced because of contamination & they quoted us a price of $1599 to repair the entire system. Honda's original quote failed to cover the cost of contamination & their incompetence in blaming me for their failure is laughable. My gripe with these guys is that they are dishonest. I have no real idea what's wrong with my car, but every time I've taken it their, 1) the problem got worse, and 2) the cost goes up. Prior to the oil change, my vehicle worked fine. It only has 92k miles on it, had one previous owner, & I had no trouble with the AC or the AC compressor. Not to mention the AC received a green mark for being ok when they changed my oil on 5/12. Not sure what having a full tank of gas has to do with properly diagnosing what's wrong with my car. Or how they were able to make the first diagnosis with the AC compressor when there was only a little gas in the car- if in fact the amount of gas effects the diagnosis at all. Of course, the manager stands behind his representative's questionable diagnosis, and the general manager has refused to return our calls. Please, do yourselves a favor, and run like hell away from this place! I may not have a degree in automobile repair, but I do have a master's degree, and these guys are bad news. And I agree with two other reviewers. Consumers are much smarter in today's economy & we can make our voices heard using social media as our platform. And lastly, if I could give no stars at all, that's exactly what I'd do. read more
