GET A SECOND OPINION! I got my state inspection this past week. I was failed for a nail in my tire, and told it was not repairable. I was given an estimate of $250 for the new tire. I let them fail me, and went to my independent mechanic. Who plugged it for $20. I am a young lady, and want to share so that other young ladies like me aren't ignorant of these mishaps. read more

Horrible customer service from Priority Honda Chesapeake. I have been a loyal Priority Honda Chesapeake customer for over 16 years and have purchased two brand-new vehicles from this dealership. I have routinely trusted their service department with my vehicles, including something as basic as an oil change. Unfortunately, the service I received today was unacceptable. I dropped my vehicle off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, for a routine oil change. I never received a call or text telling me the vehicle was ready. At approximately 2:30 p.m., I called the service department myself and was told that they had not even worked on my vehicle yet. By 5:30 p.m., the dealership was closed, and my vehicle was still sitting there. As a result, I am now without my vehicle until Monday morning at the earliest. This has created a significant problem for my family because my wife now has to figure out how she is going to get to work. I even called the sales department hoping someone could help resolve the situation, but I was simply told that sales was a different department and they could not help. After 16 years of being a loyal customer and purchasing two vehicles from Priority Honda, I expected considerably better communication and customer service than this. An oil change should not take all day, and if there was a delay that prevented the service department from completing the work, someone should have contacted me before the dealership closed. I am extremely disappointed with the way this was handled. What was once a dealership I trusted has, in my experience, gone significantly downhill over the years. I strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing or servicing a vehicle here to think carefully about the level of customer service they expect. Priority Honda Chesapeake has lost a very loyal customer tonight. read more

Our family is car shopping and very much the Honda fans when it comes to sedans. We found one we like and sit down to talk about the car, its features and its price. We are then hit with an additional package that we are told is MANDATORY. This really reeks of my days as a Sailor and the sleazy car dealers near base, not a well known dealer like Priority, and not for a new Honda. Very disappointed in this posturing and experience. read more

Yes, multiple class-action lawsuits have been filed against Honda over rodent damage to its soy-based electrical wiring, alleging the "environmentally friendly" coating attracts pests. The lawsuits claim Honda failed to warn customers about this susceptibility, refused to cover the damage under warranty, and instead profited by selling them special rodent-deterrent tape. However, several of these lawsuits have been dismissed by judges who ruled the plaintiffs' claims lacked sufficient evidence that the soy-based coating was a "defect". Keyy details of the lawsuits: Allegations: The core claim is that Honda's use of soy-based insulation makes its electrical wiring susceptible to damage by rodents like rats and mice. Honda's alleged failure: The suits accuse Honda of failing to warn customers of this issue and of refusing to cover the damage under its standard warranty, arguing it's not a manufacturing defect. Additional accusations: Some lawsuits claim Honda's sale of rodent-deterrent tape is a way to profit from the problem it created. Legal outcomes: At least one class-action suit was dismissed because the judge found the plaintiffs did not provide enough evidence that the soy-based wiring was a "defect". The judge stated that wires aren't inherently defective simply because rodents chew them, and that using rodent tape doesn't mean the wires themselves are faulty. read more

1 Star Experience - Mainly Because of Marcus What started as a promising car-buying experience at Priority Honda quickly turned into a major disappointment. We were initially impressed with our salesman, Jim--he was friendly, helpful, and professional. Unfortunately, things took a sharp turn when it came time to negotiate the price on a new 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring. They brought over a sales manager or "closer" named Marcus, and that's where the experience went downhill fast. From the moment he joined the conversation, Marcus was rude, pushy, and completely unprofessional. He didn't listen to what we were saying, got visibly annoyed that we were negotiating at all, and started using questionable sales tactics to disguise the true price of the vehicle. When we noticed and called it out, he got defensive and condescending--not just toward me, but toward my wife as well. He treated us like we were wasting his time and even mocked the idea of us shopping around, insisting we wouldn't find a better deal anywhere else. Well, we did. We left and went to Hall Honda, where the team was straightforward, respectful, and offered a significantly better price with none of the games. I would not recommend Priority Honda to anyone, and that is almost entirely due to the behavior of Marcus. I don't know why a dealership would keep someone like that representing their brand. Maybe he gets results, but his tactics are rude, manipulative, and frankly insulting. If you're shopping for a Honda, skip Priority and head to Hall Honda instead--you'll get a better deal and be treated with respect. read more

Zander was amazing! He helped our family find the perfect car and made the whole process super easy. He was really easy to talk to and actually listened to what we wanted instead of trying to sell us something random. You can tell he knows what he's doing and cares about helping people. He explained everything clearly and made sure we understood each step, which I really appreciated. He was also just really down to earth and easy to relate to. We ended up finding a car that fits our family perfectly and stayed within our budget. I do not like going to car shops because its always a hassle and it takes literally all day. However, I love going to Priority Honda because I get to atleast set up an appointment for my state inspection and does it for free. The comfort in the inside is awesome. They have a computer lap section with all apple macs, a comfortable lounge area with free coffee, and a movie theater. My go to spot is the movie theater! I was able to still be working and enjoying movies as I waited for my state inspection to be done. My only issue is even with an appointment set up, it still takes about 2 to 3 hours. You can never get out of their Service Department for less than $1,000. Doesnt matter that you just went in for a "free oil change." Their mechanics are going to find something "wrong", call you, tell you your car needs this or that, tell you they have to order the part (so much for their Parts Department!), and have to keep your car overnight so they can work on it the next day. Yep, this is standard operating procedure for Priority Honda. The sad part is they have you by the short hairs. You don't know if what they say is true or not. But, you're not willing to risk it so you pony up another thousand dollars. Yes, this has happened to me at least a half dozen times in the past 3 or 4 years. You'd think I would wise up by now. Trust me, my next car (unlike my past three) will not be bought or serviced by Priority Honda. read more

I bought a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited back in April. Car looked decent for the most part. It was used so I didn't expect everything to be pristine. Come to find out, I took it to the Jeep dealership after having a concern about the brakes and washer fluid. Turns out, that was the least of my concerns. The car had 3/4 tires of the same size. The oil was black as the color of the car. Mind you this is shortly after purchasing the vehicle. There were screws missing. The brake pads were beyond worn which explained the shaking when beginning to brake. The rotors were "horrible" as the Jeep advisor stated. The motor in the washer fluid had to be replaced. These are all things that existed when the vehicle was sold to me outside of my knowledge. I'm not sure how this vehicle passed inspection with all of these issues. All of these issues listed costed me about $1,300 at the Jeep dealership for a car I recently bought. Long story short, I can't believe Honda. I have relatives that are customers there but I wouldn't recommend it if they are normally selling vehicles like this. And of course, they don't care once you buy the vehicle. It's all about money, just like everything else. So part of me isn't surprised. But in a nutshell, I had to leave a review. Please explore other options before making a permanent decision here. read more

This may be a bias review, but we visited this location only because our family salesperson is present. Jeff! He is awesome! Jeff sold me my first car in 2000 and since then, my mom and I have been consulting him ever since before purchasing vehicles. My last vehicle I purchased from Jeff was back in 2010 I believe. But most recently, my mom worked with Jeff to purchase her newest vehicle. For the most part the process from start to finish was pretty smooth. Despite one hiccup, not Jeff's fault, but Jeff made sure he made the situation right. Once it was time to move to the financing area of the sale, my mom dealt with Linda. Linda is so personable and down to the Earth. I sat in during this interaction and it was a pleasant one. Overall, witnessing this dealership and the process to driving off the lot with a new 2022, I recommend you come see Jeff. I cannot vouch for any other salespeople. But Jeff is the man! I would leave 0 stars if I could, came here one evening to look at an odyssey, had an appointment for 6pm. Showed up at 6 and stood in the lobby for 30 minutes. Never even got help until I asked a worker to get me a salesman. Proceeded to look at a vehicle with Jim Booth, looked at it and made a deal but said he couldn't sale it since it was in the shop. Told h no problem call me when it's out I have the check ready. They call me the next morning at 9am to schedule me an appointment to come in that day so I asked if the van was out of the shop. They said they would check and call me back. They did in fact call me back but it was to tell me that they sold the van. Ms. Lithia, Owner of priority Honda, Thank you for your reply. Despite the diagnosis matching the defect described in the bulletin, I was told after the fact that my vehicle "is not eligible," even though: * TSB 20-030 extends MPI warranty coverage to 15 years or 150,000 miles * The bulletin identifies MPI failures caused by a defective solder joint * The bulletin specifies that the MPI should be replaced if any of the listed codes or failure conditions are present. Please note failure codes were identified and as stated in SB 20-030 if codes were identified the vehicle falls under warranty: The following verbiage is as follows for vehicles with this issue and quality for this repair under a warranty of extension: "Yes- Replace the MPI UNIT GO TO SERVICE REPAIR" or "No- This service Bulletin does not apply. Continue with normal system troubleshooting." The official Honda owner-notification letter states: "This warranty only covers vehicles that have a defective motor power inverter... The motor power inverter may fail due to a defective solder joint and will be replaced." The bulletin also specifies the failure mechanism: "The motor power inverter may fail over time due to a defective solder joint." It also identifies the exact trouble codes associated with MPI failure: P1440, P1437, P15A5, P0A78, P0AE1, P0AEE, P0A27, among others. (Honda TSB 20-030) Your dealership diagnosed the identical failure, and my symptom, including total loss of power, mirror those described in the bulletin. It appears that your dealership is using the "VIN-specific" explanation as a default response to avoid honoring the extended warranty and to convert safety-related repairs into customer-paid services. That approach doesn't align with the intent of Service Bulletin 20-030, which is symptom-based and tied to the confirmed MPI failure, not just a VIN cutoff. My vehicle experienced the exact failure described, your technicians diagnosed it, and the bulletin specifically addresses this safety issue. Using VIN exclusion as a blanket justification in cases like mine gives the impression that the priority is generating revenue over safety rather than accurately applying Honda's warranty policies. The fact that I narrowly avoided what could have been a serious or even fatal accident seemed to have no meaningful impact on the response from your service department. The safety implications were minimized, and the situation was treated as a routine repair rather than the critical hazard it actually was. read more

Technicians/those who check availability of parts are great, patient, and helpful; greeter who takes your car upon arrival is so pleasant and a joy; service reps who prep paper work, are, for the most part horrible. 10:58 1 We purchased a Civic three 1/2 weeks ago from (Renatta Parinas ) she was great at first. We had agreed upon a "Out the Door" price but when everything was said and done, It ended up being higher. The Priority for life was bought out. (Lifetime Oil change is not free) it cost $700 for lifetime. I was told it cost over $100 to change oil per finance rep (Mr Turner). So l purchased that. He was trying to explain to me that technically it was free since oil changes cost around $100 and I would get my money's worth back after 2 yrs. I tried to explain to him that it was not free because I had to pay for the lifetime oil changes. He misinformed me about additional package deals in regard to repairs on any rips, stains or fades inside the car and it would be repaired. The car got scratched on the front and I thought it would be covered but he told me it was a different plan. I've emailed Mrs parinas 3 times and she only responded the first time. They are nice and friendly to you up front and then will act like they don't know you anymore once they get their money from you . The only one that actually seemed genuine was MR Randy Lien, the sales manager. I hope my son will not be targeted or mistreated when he brings in his car for service (Oil changes and or state inspections). Be careful when purchasing a vehicle. I asked about SUT for Disabled personnel and the sales lady had no clue on what I was asking for. The sales person should know or have an idea about the Sales and Use Tax (SUT) for Exemption for Disabled Veterans. Meaning if you are 100% Disabled Veteran, you're allowed to purchase 1 vehicle tax-free. We even gave Mrs Renatta all 10 ratings, as soon as she got what she wanted, no more contact with her. Also, the tax rebate I was supposed to receive has not come in yet, we emailed Angela yesterday and still no response back. The only one helping me out is Randy. Loved this dealership and experience in the past but after this past Saturday, they have left a sour taste in my mouth. I purchased my 2017 Honda Accord Sport from this dealership on July 22, 2017, brand new. Sales team was awesome, service department was stellar to the point where we didn't mind driving from Jarratt, VA in order to get our service. We loved the Sales and Dealership so much that we purchased a used 2013 Toyota Tundra from them in 2019. Well, everything started going to hell in a handbasket starting 6 months ago when we were informed that they no longer serviced Toyota vehicles or any other model vehicle other than Honda on the weekends which is most convenient for working individuals who live outside of the area. We ended up taking the Tundra to Priority Toyota Chesapeake and experienced such good service that this is where we will be taking the Tundra moving forward. Back to the experience on this past weekend. We've been taking the Honda to them since we purchased the vehicle for service. I was scheduled for a state inspection, Oil and Filter Change (Priorities for Life), and Tire rotation at 0830. Made it to the appointment early but I noticed that none of the familiar smiling faces were in the service department. We've seen several changes over the years, but didn't pay it any mind. My assigned service technician was Chelsea. I received the introductory text, which is a nice feature, and all was going well. While waiting for my vehicle, I received a text that additional services were needed for my vehicle, and it came with a video link. Well guys I watched the video, and the technician stated that he was able to get all of my tires off for the tire rotation except one. Well, I moseyed on into the service department and the service technician whom I spoke to (Her desk was next to Chelsea's as Chelsea was with a customer, and I didn't want to be rude) said that it was a lug nut issue and that the cost was $439 for one lug nut and that I needed an engine air and cabin filter replacement ($20 each at Advanced Auto but dealership waned $129.99), and a plethora of other unnecessary services, brake fluid replacement, transmission fluid replacement (Honda Manufacturers and my Manual recommend to perform this service at 100K miles and I only have 70K miles) She said that they had performed the oil change but rejected my state inspection due to the lug nut issue. I asked twice was it for one lug nut and she said yes. After speaking with my DAD, who was with me and is a retired-licensed mechanic, and he said that it didn't sound right, ($439 for one lug nut replacement) and tell them to put the car back together and bring it out. So, I told them to assemble the car back to operational status and bring it back. I go down the street to a tire place at the suggestions of my DAD and had the team to look at that "lug nut issue." They guy came back and said it looked like whomever was removing the tire, had the impact wrench turned forward (in the tightening position) rather than backwards (removal position), and stripped the stud and not the lug nut. He showed my DAD how the stud was just spinning and evidence of new metal shavings. I asked how much to repair it with my mechanic (DAD) in tow, and he said he would replace the one stud for me for $75. He said it was an easy fix and that it would only take about 30 to 45 minutes. The guy did it in 29 minutes without the $439 Honda sticker price. I was planning to go back to Honda the same day for the inspection to be redone, but DAD said NO! I ended up getting my state inspection done at another location. The guy who did my inspection stated that my car passed emissions and everything else, and he asked why Priority Honda rejected it. I explained to the guy that Honda rejected my State inspection due to the One Spinning stud on the car. The guy that performed the inspection stated that there were 4 studs holding the tire on out of 5 studs, he said that the inspection has nothing to do with 1 stud being inoperable. He said if it were more than one, then it would have been a problem. After this unacceptable experience, we will be taking the Honda to Priority Toyota Chesapeake with the Tundra moving forward. read more
