Erik is fantastic. Very helpful. Went in to print some plans, air dropped it to him and he understood I wanted to save on costs and print on smaller size for one set. He set me up with what would work and it came out with great detail on quality paper. He told me his machines are the best and the quality of the printing job supports that. When you walk into Printefex, you never know what kind of service you'll get. There's a gentleman named Erik, who I believe is the manager, and he's often rude. His attitude seems to influence his staff, resulting in poor attention to detail. Whether you're there for business or personal needs, you should expect professional service, but that's not the case here. This isn't how a business should be run. The company I work for sends me here, and I'm constantly worried about being dismissed, receiving service with an attitude, or being looked down upon. I'm not sure if I just happened to get Erik's evil twin brother. My experience with this store was bad, bad, bad. 10 days ago, I dropped off an old drawing of my backyard that is very precious to me. Erik promised to call me that day with a quote. He didn't call, so I called and left a voice mail the next day. No answer. So I called again on Monday, and an employee told me Erik had taken off for vacation for the week and no one else could help me. I called the following Monday (today) and was told Erik was on the phone and would return my call in 10 minutes. An hour passed and no call. So I call back and Erik tells me that he has to find my drawing and would call me back in 10, 15 minutes. I wait half hour. Of course no call. So I call again and am told it MIGHT be ready by tomorrow. Who runs a business like that? I have to chase him down to give him my money? In the meantime, he's holding my pretty drawing hostage... Stay tuned. I have a bad feeling I won't be able to just pick up my drawing and print tomorrow. UPDATE: The print came out good, and Erik was much friendlier. Maybe he read this review? Or I caught him on a bad week? I'm happy with the result, but I'm still not happy that it took 12 days to get a single print and that I had to call the shop multiple times to get this result. read more

We had some booklets that needed to get printed and went to this store because their print quality is good. When we went there we encountered an issue with the way the booklet was setup and asked the owner for his suggestions, since he might have seen the issue before. All we got out of him was his dismissive attitude, he did not hesitate to talk down to us (while telling us how easy the solution was and how we could not see it ourselves) and was impatient and could not wait for us to think it through and decide what to do. His attitude was so bad that I was ready to go to someone else, but we needed the booklet in a couple of days and did not want to restart the process elsewhere. Another Asian friend of mine later let us know that the Owners attitude is very bad and she also had a bad experience. read more

(Shopped 01/04/13 F @ 5pm): Yes, they still develop this thing called "film!" When in doubt, return to the business you frequented in the past who always gave you excellent service, and that's what I did when I went to Printefex to see if they still developed camera film. Before Yelp and at the start of this crazy thing called the internet, I used to drop-off my disposable cameras at this neighborhood business and always received quick and friendly service. Flash-forward more than 15 years, and the same still held true! I'd just returned from a trip of a lifetime - three weeks traveling in Australia and New Zealand during the Christmas holiday season. As part of the trip, I snorkeled an entire day in the Great Barrier Reef! I couldn't find a GoPro to borrow, so I purchased an underwater 35MM 27-exposure disposable camera from the boat that took us out to the diving/snorkeling site. Semi-confident, I took the camera to them and sheepishly asked if they still offered this service, which they happily did! Their primary business was printing posters, banners, copies, and the like, but apparently film development also fell into this category. I eagerly handed them the camera and requested both prints ($10.99) and a CD transfer ($5.00). They promised they would be ready in a couple days and they were! I was so joyful when all exposures came out beautifully of glorious colorful coral reefs and tropical fishes. The CD was an easy transfer to my computer. The service was amazing from all three staff members who worked there on both occasions I stopped in (dropped-off and picked-up). The young gentleman whom I imagined was the manager greeted me like we were old friends; I loved it! And the young lady behind the counter humored me when I was shocked that they still developed film. Hey, it was all in good fun, and a true asset to how they ran their business. Parking was decent as they shared a limited amount of parking spots among several businesses. Otherwise, there was free street parking along the main drag of Foothill Blvd., the residential side streets, or across the street at the Trader Joe's or Ralphs parking lots for an extra walking distance. Overall, it's businesses like Printefex with their amazing service and products offered that made me return after such long gap between visits. Although I was in the area running errands, I didn't even bother to call first and check with them; I just knew they would be able to do it for me. I found absolute value based on the price and service noted above (total bill was around $17.00; no tip required), but the lifetime of memories I now had preserved on both CD and hard copy was immeasurable. The atmosphere/décor was like any print shop with a large open floorplan, machinery out in the open, and work samples hung along all the walls. I didn't recall any TVs nor chairs, but I believed there were supplies and such that could be purchased. The attire was totally casual, so I was in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. And they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! read more

Wow! I went in late on a Monday evening hoping to be able to print photos for my son's school project. I had low expectations for a Kinkos type experience, but this place was executing on all cylinders! They were helping people with multiple projects and were able to easily direct me to their online upload which quickly then prints beautiful photos on site. I was able to peak at all the jobs they were doing (mailer newsletters, large signs, holiday cards etc) and everything looked terrific. What a gem to have in the neighborhood! read more

tl;dr - Get your passport pictures here. $15.95 gets you 4 pictures. They also will photograph babies! I decided to come in after first going to an establishment in Pasadena. I'm not trying to name names, but they come up toward the top when you type in 'Passport Photos Pasadena'. I was a little surprised to find out that they charge $25 for 2 pictures. Also, they don't photograph babies. The owner was less-than-cordial. I still needed baby pics so I called over to Printefex. The woman who answered the phone was immediately lovely. She quoted me the above price, so off we went. When I walked in, I was warmly greeted by what felt like every single person working in there! I was whisked away to the back where they photographed the baby in seconds. I figured since the price was so good, I'd get another one of myself. I waited back in the front while I waited for the prints and checked out samples of their previous work. I was impressed by the quality of their printing, their design, and the variety of services they provide. Within minutes, I was given an envelope of pictures and sent on my way. I was really blown away with the customer service here and with how warm everyone was. Ever see that episode of the Office where they go to Prince Family Paper? That's what it felt like.
