Calling around on a Friday night for a Sunday event is not my finest moment, but Foothill Trophy & Engraving came through in a BIG way. Joss was incredible. He didn't just accept my very last-minute order -- he went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and that I was genuinely happy with the outcome. The level of ownership and care he shows for his business is exactly what you hope for but rarely find. Fair warning: this guy is booked and busy, so don't be like me and wait until the last minute. That said, if you need trophies or engraving done right, this is absolutely the place to go. 10/10 would recommend. Support great local businesses like this. read more

Joss is AMAZING! We had an Oscar themed holiday party and was looking for Oscar trophies. I looked at many trophy companies and most of the Oscar trophies looked so fake and the coloring and size were off. I came across Foothill Trophy and Engraving and the trophies were so on point. The coloring, style and weight of the trophy was perfect. We also asked Joss to design the trophy engraving and he did a GREAT job. They came out soooooo good. Beyond my greatest expectations! I had a statuette that needed an engraved plaque. There was just one problem, I waited until the last minute to drop it off and never imagined that it could be done in time. Even before I was able to ask if it could be done on a RUSH basis, Joss informed me when it would be done, which to my surprise was earlier than I needed it. Joss was super professional and friendly! Took care of my engraving needs! Don't believe any bad review on here it's just incompetents who never call in or were mad when they specifically said "no rush" you don't say that unless you MEAN it! I didn't pressure him I WAITED as I had NO rush! He's very busy and has a ton of customers. He called me about a week later and I had my son's bracelet as expected at a very great price! Owner Joss Rogers again came through for me with taste, accuracy and extremely prompt turnaround time. Foothill Trophy went dormant for a few months during the pandemic and I left a message on voicemail 2 weeks prior to a deadline asking to meet. (To me, this is not a lot of turnaround time.) We lost a great man several weeks ago and I set out to create a memorial bench in his honor with a fairly quick turnaround. Not only did Joss at Foothill Trophy & Engraving help conceive and execute the wood/laser engraving portion of the project, but he also offered to handle the mounting, requiring several days of coordination including over a weekend. Great little trophy and engraving shop in Montrose. They can do just about anything you want, from a standard bowling trophy, to etched crystal, to 3d models of a space telescope! The co-owner, Eric, is very friendly and laid-back. He worked with me on a large order of 75 crystals and was very patient as we iterated and finalized design. He was very trusting of me as a customer - I'm not sure this is his usual policy but I didn't pay anything until the entire order was complete. Wow - you just don't get that level of trust in many places these days. Prices are very reasonable, and the quality of work very high. Not sure what you want? They have a very extensive number of examples from previous jobs in the front lobby of the shop. Browsing through those may give you new ideas. Very, very highly recommended. read more

I had a couple of custom items made here a few months ago, and have remiss in leaving a review. They were very innovative and the quality of both items was outstanding. Not a quick turn-around, but with custom items that is to be expected. Their shop is loaded with diverse examples of what they have done. One gets the feeling that they can do most anything however, given a little time. I have more items for them to do in the future. read more

I wanted to give a friend a personalized wedding gift so I bought a box that had a brass plaque that could be engraved. I never needed this service before so it was a shot in the dark for me to find someone who could work with me. Thankfully, my searched found this little shop local to me. Joss took the time to explain the process and showed me a lot of examples, even accommodating me when I wanted it engraved in a different-than-normal font. Communication is truly an area this place will need to improve on in order to be considered a reliable shop to do business with. Not only have we not been able to pick up our order since the initial November promised date, but now our emails and phone calls are going unanswered for days. I would not recommend doing business with this shop. read more

What an incredibly kind and clever staff! I love local businesses and sure recommend this place. I drive a ways just to come here because their work is so spot on, professional and they have a really great turnaround time. From items, to fonts to designs, I'm impressed at their knowledge of their craft. They have the best price point I could find, too! I came to Joss with an idea; I wanted a plaque to thank a business for their support of a cause, and did not really know more than that. Joss asked me a few questions, made a few suggestions, and took care of the rest. The owner is incredibly creative. He went above and beyond what I expected, to take my vague ideas for my fantasy basketball league trophy and solidified them into something that was way better than I had envisioned. The facts: I had 5 items of anodized aluminum (approx…read more1.22"x1.62") that I wanted laser engraved (ablated, technically). Jon provided a quote and turnaround time via email within 24hrs of me inquiring. I dropped off my items on Friday, and they shipped them back to me the following Monday and I received them Tuesday. --- The good: Out of the 6 places I inquired with, Jon was the only one to provide an itemized quote ($8.95/item x 5 + $20 setup charge = $64.75) and a reasonable turnaround time (1-2 business days). The team even provided a layout for me to approve of the placement that closely matched how I designed it, to which I approved. The engraving marks themselves were crisp and clean. --- The bad: The items were offset left ~1mm and immediately noticeable upon receipt. I reply to the layout approval email to ask if being ~1mm set left was within tolerance and if there was anything I could have done to insure better alignment. The team did not respond to my email for over 24hrs. Potentially being lost in email threads, I added "quality/alignment question" into a follow up and this is the email thread: Jon: "We do not work with mm or cm. Our machines are not set up like that. So, outside items have a risk of possibly being off such a small fraction of an inch (0.0393701)." Me: "Noted. It would have been helpful to know the tolerances ahead of time to manage the expectations and design. I'm new to laser engraving and would appreciate advice on how I would be able to get more accurate alignments? Would additional templating help? I want to have more of this work done, potentially and want to make sure things are set up for better success on both our ends." Jon: "Hey Ellis, 1mm is such a small amount; all laser jobs could be at risk of that. It would not matter how the art is setup." --- Opinion: I wish I would have been informed of the tolerance they were comfortable in providing so I could determine if I approved of that. From what I gathered about laser engraving, getting a design aligned and centered on a rectangular item seems with reason. And, their layout led me to expect that's what they were going to deliver. Attached are photos of their layout I approved and what I got. I'll leave it to you, Yelpers and visitors, if you feel this is accurate enough for your purposes. As for me, I'll be exploring other services that can at least inform me of tolerances ahead of time and/or assure me of more accurate results.

I was able to call and speak with the woman in charge who was able to ask me a few questions and if I had been on the website. The website wasn't truly easy for me to navigate - I let her know I would prefer to have see in person. So I made an appointment to come in the store the woman then walked me to the upstairs trophy display case and was able to describe and explain the differences between those that are offered and shown and how much customization I could do as well. After having picked out all the few details that I wanted including the shape and material- I was able to move onto the words that I would like engraved and also the picture. I was then given a mock up of the receipt which I decided to pay for on the spot. After this I have been in contact via email because I was quoted a date I would be reached out to but I hadn't heard anything, so as a new customer I sort of panicked lol I did get very prompt responses afterward. They've also printed a few pictures for me that needed to be on special paper. Everyone who helped me was incredibly helpful and patient. I had a project a few months back that needed to be printed on thicker paper, but I didn't know what it was called. I did my best to explain the type paper/material I wanted and they understood exactly what I needed. They even did measurements for me - I wanted the photo to look like a photo booth print, just bigger. It came out perfect!
