Amazing service! Even better than LOLA!…read more This is a small family owned business. Outside, the business looks like a 15anera store but it is not. Once you get close, there is a neighboring beauty salon. Laser Sharp has their own office space next door. (It is the white door with laser cut design) The SERVICE IS AMAZING! This business can do sooooo much! Teresa and Al's email response is quick and friendly. They are really good at explaining what art files they need from you. The price is great too. You can compare, but as a graphic design student, I can tell you that Laser Sharp has industry quality!

Teresa was responsive to my yelp request for an engraving job quote, was able to work on acrylic, and gave a reasonable price and FAST same day turn around. She made time for my small, but meaningful engraving job for my team at work, helped me pick out fonts that enhanced the job, and I can't wait to give there engraved performance awards to my staff! The shop is not far from downtown LA (DTLA) where I work (15-20 min drive) so that I could drop off the job at lunch. There was plenty of street parking and the shop is right in a small building next to a beauty shop and close to the 76 station on the corner. What's great about this place is also the atmosphere... you walk into the shop and see displays of creative, artistic wood cutting, paper cutting, laser cutting jobs ranging from complex 3-D models to beautifully adorned signs. Immediately you get the sense they can do anything and the only limit is your imagination! The shop is clean, smells inviting, and is like stepping into a design dream world just off this busy street. The photos of Teresa's other passion - landscape design - adorn the walls. Gorgeous. Plus, she was pleasant, helpful and finished my job early! At the end of the day, she and her husband and co-owner Al (the architect) were there waiting for me. They had my job beautifully displayed for my inspection, and I fell in love. Teresa and Al are the type of business owners you want to work with over and over. Their warmth and genuine pride in their work exudes from their heart. You feel like someone in your family just went the extra step to make sure you are pleased with your requested work, job or project and on time! I know I'm not alone. They were on their way to see a customer's building at CSULA because of the sense of connection created from the model they designed for the customer in the process. I can't say enough good things about this company. I called or wrote back and forth with at least 5 other businesses in the area before choosing them just based on their customer service in our interactions. I'm so happy I did. When I give my hard working staff their 2016 performance awards on Monday, I'm going to feel like Teresa and Al are there with me to say thank you for a job well done. Again--- Highly, highly, highly recommend!

The facts: I had 5 items of anodized aluminum (approx…read more1.22"x1.62") that I wanted laser engraved (ablated, technically). Jon provided a quote and turnaround time via email within 24hrs of me inquiring. I dropped off my items on Friday, and they shipped them back to me the following Monday and I received them Tuesday. --- The good: Out of the 6 places I inquired with, Jon was the only one to provide an itemized quote ($8.95/item x 5 + $20 setup charge = $64.75) and a reasonable turnaround time (1-2 business days). The team even provided a layout for me to approve of the placement that closely matched how I designed it, to which I approved. The engraving marks themselves were crisp and clean. --- The bad: The items were offset left ~1mm and immediately noticeable upon receipt. I reply to the layout approval email to ask if being ~1mm set left was within tolerance and if there was anything I could have done to insure better alignment. The team did not respond to my email for over 24hrs. Potentially being lost in email threads, I added "quality/alignment question" into a follow up and this is the email thread: Jon: "We do not work with mm or cm. Our machines are not set up like that. So, outside items have a risk of possibly being off such a small fraction of an inch (0.0393701)." Me: "Noted. It would have been helpful to know the tolerances ahead of time to manage the expectations and design. I'm new to laser engraving and would appreciate advice on how I would be able to get more accurate alignments? Would additional templating help? I want to have more of this work done, potentially and want to make sure things are set up for better success on both our ends." Jon: "Hey Ellis, 1mm is such a small amount; all laser jobs could be at risk of that. It would not matter how the art is setup." --- Opinion: I wish I would have been informed of the tolerance they were comfortable in providing so I could determine if I approved of that. From what I gathered about laser engraving, getting a design aligned and centered on a rectangular item seems with reason. And, their layout led me to expect that's what they were going to deliver. Attached are photos of their layout I approved and what I got. I'll leave it to you, Yelpers and visitors, if you feel this is accurate enough for your purposes. As for me, I'll be exploring other services that can at least inform me of tolerances ahead of time and/or assure me of more accurate results.
