I would pass by this place multiple times and wanted to give it a try with my friend. Went in and they have a SMALL selection of what colors to choose from (both regular and gel manicures). Then, when I went to go pay for my manicure and eyebrow wax, they tell me they don't accept credit-debit cards! I didn't see a sign anywhere that said "cash only" and this upset me because cards are more common now! But that's not the worst part. While I was getting my eyebrows waxed, the lady doing it was nice and making conversation, which is fine. Up until she asked how old I was and when I told her, she slapped me on my shoulder while saying "you look so young and you're so mature for your age." I accept the compliment BUT NOT THE SLAP! That made me very uncomfortable and not want to ever come back. I can understand that she's from a different country and the culture is different, but there is NO EXCUSE to slap/hit a customer. I have been going to this salon for close to 17 years. The ladies here are always helpful and welcoming. My technician is Julie, she is wonderful. I have gotten to know her and have watched her children grow through her pictures and stories. If Julie isn't in, Anne will always take care of me with a smile. I work down the street and was looking desperately to get my month old acrylics removed. I called to make an appt for 5 (when I was off work) considering I thought it would take a long time to remove my acrylics and give me a gel manicure. I asked for Ann or Lynn after reading other Yelp reviews, and I spoke to both of them on the phone. Ann said she could take me during my lunch break and be done by 1! I arrived around 12:15 and both Ann and Lynn introduced themselves to me, they were so sweet! Ann started doing my nails right away and she finished by 12:50 which I couldn't believe. she was so sweet and talked to me the entire time. I really appreciate her fitting me in so last minute and the price is amazing! $25 for a gel manicure and only $5 to get acrylics removed. she didn't even charge me for the removal since my acrylics were easy to get off - so nice of her. she was quick and thoughtful and definitely did exactly what I wanted. I got a Pedi and Mani. The staff were friendly and quick. Due to Covid we had to have the process done outside but everything was cleaned and sterilized. I am writing this review based on my last/final appointment. My overall experience was positive and that was wholly due to Debbie...she was the nicest Nail Tech there and did an AMAZING job with my Mani's & Pedi's. I have a very hectic work schedule and a few times where I was running late, I'd give her a call and she was ALWAYS accommodating and when I found out that she took the bus. We made it a plan that I was always her last client and afterwards I would drive her to the bus stop. I came to really like her and she SLAYED it every time she my nails! :) However, that all changed when I called in to set up an appointment a few weeks ago! I had a nail emergency and called to see if I could come in to see Debbie for a fill during lunch...I was told she was on vacation but she (Julie) would take care of me and asked if I could come in between 3:30pm or 4:00pm? I said sure I could make that happen...however, I had a meeting come up that I wasn't able to get out of. I called Julie immediately to let her know that I wouldn't be able to make it in until 4:30pm...I apologized and asked her if it was ok and if not, I said I could come in tomorrow instead. She told me it wasn't a problem...but apparently it was, it was a BIG problem for her! When I got to the Salon...I asked for Julie and was told to sit and that she would be a minute. I noticed that 3 of the women started speaking in Vietnamese and glanced over repeatedly...then Julie appears oozing 'attitude' and how displeased she was towards me by the was she looked at me. She instructed me to follow her and pointed to the chair where I was to sit. When she began, I immediately realized I was in trouble! The first thing she tells me as I sit...was that she had to reschedule another client because I was late! I reminded her that I did mentioned in our earlier conversation, I didn't mind coming in on Saturday and that she told me that it was ok...as I'm explaining she interrupts me and says...you're already here. The next 45mins or so was pure HELL! She was so rough on my nails and cuticles, I must have said 'ouch' and pulled my hand back 4 or 5 times. I couldn't wait for this ordeal to be over and just wanted out of that place! The whole time she barely spoke to me...except to ask about my ring and the rest of the time she spoke to the other ladies there in their language. When she was done with me she called another person over to finish up with my Gel polish...got up and left. When this new lady sat down, she immediately said to me...'I'm so sorry Michele'...I was in shock with the treatment I had received from this Julie person! HOWEVER, it wasn't over! While this new lady was finishing up with me I could over hear her talking about me with another her new client she was giving a Pedicure to along with the lady sitting next to her and the nail tech working next to Julie! I could not believe my ears...she was describing in her broken English that I was horrible and that had no manners by being late and how it was such an inconvenience to her! My jaw dropped and when I looked up to the lady working on my nails...she looked shocked as well because she knew I could hear everything from across the room! She again said 'I'm so sorry...Debbie will be back in a week'. I could not believe this was actually happening to me...as I got up to pay, I realized she had told her client to "pretend I talking about dinner"! At this point I was LIVID about how she had treated me and then talk about me, this horrible person to her client...who looked confused and was leaning over and asking her what she was talking about...and who was late for dinner! My message to Julie...improve your communication and people skills and remember that your job is in something called the "Customer Service Industry"...which mean, you provide a Service to Customers! I love, love, love this nail salon. I have acrylic nails and gel pedicures and every time I visit princess nails. Here are some of the perks to this nail salon and why I recommend them. One- my acrylic nails do not break and I work in construction. Yes, construction. And my nails take a beating at work. I have never broken a nail from here. I saw Ken today and he was amazing. His decorating skills are amazing and he can do all of the newest acrylic trends. Two- the location is super clean. It's currently went under a remodel and looks beautiful from their chandeliers and new massage chairs. They are very covid prepared from plastic guards to dividers between their pedicure chairs. Three- they have a ton of gel colors for all of the current trends. Four - the staff is super sweet. Very friendly people that remember you by your first name. I walked in today in hopes of getting an acrylic fill, Lynn greeted me and she was SO SWEET. I got my fill for $20 and the coffin shape was absolutely perfect. I have never been more satisfied with my nails and for such a great price. I was taken in almost instantly and Lynn was fast and efficient and as you can tell from the picture it turned out great! My first time here. Decided to come here on a whim to relax and pamper myself. I was lucky I was the only one here for a walk in. They prefer to call ahead of time and make an appointment. I was disappointed bc I feel like this pedicure was done in a hurry, seriously no more than 12 minutes. No scrubbing, just a short foot massage with some oil lotion. First pedicure in 6 months! It felt amazing! Princess Nails now is safely offering pedicure/manicures. It was a very safe and very detailed experience. They cleaned the chairs and all equipment throughly before I sat down. They took temperatures and made us sanitize our hands before we started. They also recorded every visitor with name, phone number and time of visit. Once seated in chair, they placed a clear, portable shield between myself and Julie. (Manicurist) Julie was awesome. She wore a mask & gloves and really wanted to make sure I felt safe & comfortable. I got a french pedicure on my toes & felt like a human again! Let's support this wonderful business. This place was able to remove a white fatty spot about 1/8 inch in diameter. I went to 2 other places and that could not remove it. They said I need to go to a dermatologist who would have been more expensive. I highly recommend this place and will try the foot reflexology next time. They are precise and gentle. read more

Lyn is the absolute BEST, creating a mixture of colors if you can't find your perfect color. She also takes the time to ensure you have the best shape possible, so considerate of your expectations. Unhappy with how Lynn did my French pedicure. My big toe was cut so slanted that when the French tip was put on it was crooked. Then to top it off the nail polish starting chipping the next day!!! Made an appointment for my sister and I to get mani and pedi. Walked in they were friendly but very unhygienic. As my sister got her pedi she noticed that they didn't put any solutions in the water and the tools they used were sitting there from before not sure if it was a fresh set. Then when I asked for only a polish change she used the same brush she used on my sister on me. Now that's not hygienic at all. Also they asked my sister if she wanted her heels shaved I thought they are not allowed to do that anymore it's illegal. Their polish detail was awful, I had polish all over my skin and cuticles. Anyhow first time and never coming back. These places really need to follow rules and hygiene so people don't get infections and fungus's from their carelessness. read more

I love the flowers with rhinestone centers she paints on my toes and I get many compliments on them. I did not have the best experience here. They don't play music so it's very quiet and awkward and they ask you about 100 questions about your life. I understand they are trying to be kind and show an interest in my life but after awhile It gets old. I got a manicure and pedicure and they had me switch seats like four times which is hard to do with wet nails. I was quite grossed out by their methods as well. It doesn't seem like they wash the foot tubs and they use the same tools on everyones feet without sterilizing them and the nastiest part is the foot file they use on your heel is old and super unsanitary, I watched her use the same one on multiple people without cleaning it. Lastly the final product was a little messy looking and I'm used to gel polish lasting 2 weeks and this stuff didn't even last 1 so unfortunately I'm still searching for a decent nail salon... read more

I was in a pinch and heading to a wedding and saw the great reviews. I've noticed its a bit more expensive up here (in the Bay) compared to LA and maybe the overall expectation is lower. I got a regular mani/pedi for $30, which is fine I suppose. My cuticles left something to be desired and were not cut cleanly. The paint job on my nails were just ok. My pedi was also just okay, I like to have the option of callous removal (I run so I have hard callouses on my feet), but they just did a very light scrub. Also the foot massage wasn't that great. If they had offered me a more specific foot massage I probably would have taken it, but no offer. To top it off, some other couple came in after me and got offered a massage from their "really great" therapist. I would have liked to have a massage, but I was never offered one, which I thought was a little strange. Also, during my manicure the lady wouldn't stop talking. I almost thought she was talking to no-one, non-stop. Of course it was in vietnamese so she wasn't speaking to me for sure. When they saw that I was a little annoyed she tried to play it off by explaining what they were talking about. Unfortunately, I was expecting a relaxing experience and didn't end up feeling that relaxed. They are nice people, but my nails just turned out okay. I will say that their massage chairs are VERY nice. And for the right person, I'm sure this is a fine experience, but I take my mani/pedi's seriously. read more

This place has the potential to be a really nice nail salon but unfortunately my visit didn't match up with the other great reviews. I called before I went in making sure they had an availability for a pedicure. I was given the OK, but I arrived and there was only one lady working the entire place which I thought was strange. Extremely small nail color selection, and I mean tiny. No more than I'd say 10-15 colors to choose from. I had to wait about 20 minutes while she was working on another customers manicure. When she finally got to me, the water wasn't warm and the pedicure clean up was rushed and incomplete. I also didn't see her separating her "used" tools from the "clean" ones, that really grossed me out. Toe fungus anyone? The massage chair was broken, too. This was a complete bummer because that's the best part. I also could've done better in the painting department. It's uneven, splotchy, and didn't cover all of the nail. *Angela Johnson Voice* Honay, why you no hav boyfraaann? I was in the salon for almost 2 hours. For ONE pedicure! They should really hire more people so one lady wouldn't have to bounce back and forth between 3 customers. The first time I went here I showed the woman I wanted stiletto nails, she replied with "No, don't get those your too young to get those. There for older women" I then persisted I wanted stiletto and she wouldn't do them and I needed my nails done desperately, so I went with square glitter tips as soon as she put product on my nails they immediately started burning!! I came here once - about a year ago. I was going to be in the area and thought of getting a pedi. The tools that they use do not seem to be sanitized. The place is not well kept. The older lady literally can not do anything pertaining to nails. The pedicure was the worst one I've ever had. I had to tell her to stop painting after trying multiple times painting one toe... someone else came and painted them and the polish is all over my skin. I can not stand clumped polished at my cuticles. They are so nosey too... I get that you are trying to make small talk but if you see that your customer came here to enjoy their mani/pedi and not up to answering 100 personal questions - Let it go. SAVE YOUR TIME and FRUSTRATION go else where. Plus they don't take cards. Cash or checks only... who is going to write a check and have their bank accnt address and name be trusted with this business. Who carries checks nowadays anyways. They open at 11:00 on Sundays. We got there a little before 11:00, one person in the chair, and they couldn't take us for one pedicure and two manicures. They said come back at 2:00. This review does not reflect the work that they do but their professionalism, customer service and their availability. There's nothing more irritating than being one of the only customers around and being turned away. Perhaps they had a lot of first thing appointments but then they should staff accordingly, allowing them to accommodate walk-ins. Just my opinion being in the customer service industry and from a family business. Won't be my go to, I can count on them kind of place. Too bad.
