Was having a mommy daughter day with my girly 5 year old and stumbled upon Princess Nails. She was able to squeeze us for a last min appt which I was totally grateful for. It's upstairs at Samsung plaza. When my daughter and I walked in, I immediately knew this place was perfection. It's super girly and Princess like with amazing flowers and decorations all over. I got a gel pedi and my daughter painted her nails. The woman who did mine is the new owner and she was very meticulous and detail oriented. She did a great job and was friendly. The only weird thing was I asked for an extra massage and she told me no because customers only get a certain amount of time each. Ultimately the whole experience went really well. The only con with this place is their doggy. She's super cute, but she barks super loud a customer walks in and it scared me every time. She's cute to have around but the barking was intense. Perhaps it just my nails with the products used at this salon, but this is the worst manicure I've ever received. Backstory: I needed to fix my nails as they were grown out and I couldn't schedule soon enough with my regular nail tech. Never again. Firstly, I came in needing a gel removal. Everything seemed normal at first until I noticed that the chemical being used to soften my previous gel polish started to BURN my skin. Yes, burn. It was in a little green bottle, and was applied like clear polish over my old gel. I tried to convey my discomfort by repeatedly saying it irritated my skin whenever the drill flicked the chemical covered gel all over my hands. However, I trusted the tech and allowed her to finish preparing my nails for new polish. As you will see from the photos, the gel polish they used did not hold up. The gel itself started cracking only 1 day after getting them done. I've never seen "gel" polish do this, as all my gel manicures have withstood over a month of wear and tear prior to this. Additionally, my nails were drilled so thin that they were prone to breaking. I've gotten dry nail care for years and I've never left the salon with such fragile nails. In fact, the one comment I've received from every single nail tech who's worked on me, is that I have "really thick and healthy nails." (Not to mention that my cuticles also looked absolutely demolished after a few days -- which again has never happened before.) The final product "looked" close enough to what I hoped for, so I paid, tipped 20% IN CASH, and left. If I knew I would have to cut the whole set off myself after only a week, I wouldn't have done so. Again, maybe my nails just don't work with their products here, but I cannot recommend this salon if you want to leave with healthy nails. read more

For the love of dogs and spa pedicures, I think I found a nail salon where I'd like to be a true, regular customer!! I usually find myself getting a pedi on an impromptu visit at various salons in Manoa, Ala Moana, Aiea, and Waikiki. For example, I just dropped off my dog at Petco for grooming and was told it would be about 3 hours. So, what to do in the meantime...hmmm...a spa pedicure!! In the past, I haven't been attached to a particular person because I normally do the cut and cleaning detail at home first. Now I want to change my ways after my service with Tina, the owner of Princess Nails. She was so friendly, and not just with me, but with all of the customers that were there. Good conversation. Great detail in filing and cleaning (even though I just did them myself). Nice firm massage. No complaints with the nail color and paint (she carries the OPI Infinite Shine brand). I've been converted!!! I walked in and was immediately greeted by a Chihuahua with a piercing bark! Haha. He had to make sure I knew who the REAL boss was! I learned he was rescued from across the street at Starbucks, and has been with them for 4 years now. The salon has been in business, in the same location, for 30 years!! There are 4 spa pedi massage chairs and a cup of water was provided as soon as I sat down. There's one big screen tv (a Korean drama was playing). The salon is dog friendly!!! I learned about Princess Nails from my boss. I'll have to thank her for the recommendation! Appointments are best (I called in advance and luckily she had an immediate opening). The salon is very clean and is located on the 2nd floor off of Keeaumoku St, across the street from Starbucks and Walmart. Parking is $1 and is paid at the salon. read more

She takes her time and is meticulous with getting all the rough skin off -- leaving your feet soft and perfectly manicured! I have never in my life left a poor review but WOW this nail salon surely deserves it. Went in for a gel mani with a design and a regular pedi. The gel manicure was the issue with it being streaky on several fingers and the design literally looking like blobs. Ended up with them calling the police. Please read on. My friend who had joined me called and discussed what could be done to resolve the issue. It seemed like at first they were willing to work something out. My friend received a partial $15 + tip refund from the $100 service she paid. And when I spoke to them on the phone they hassled with me a bit and threatened to call the police . . . over the refund?! They told me they only gave my friend the refund because she didn't have time to get her nails fixed. Which I explained to them that I was in the same boat. I have a breastfed infant and I had already been away from him for 4 hours. I couldn't pump milk or find the time during the week to come in. It seemed like over the phone she understood that and agreed to refund me $20 out of the $115 service I paid for. I walk in and a small dog of theirs tried to attack me. Once he was detained by another employee another woman started to aggressively speak to me and wanted to remove all my nails. I told her exactly what I said on the phone being that I do not have time and that I literally had my infant out in the car with dad. She insisted that I bring him inside. I further explained to her that was not a possibility because of the fumes from the nail polishes and solvents used was not an appropriate place to bring an infant into. She got increasingly agitated and eventually got up and "called the police." I truly doubt she called the police as I am sure they would have fined her for wasting their time. I had already paid them their $115 owed. I did not steal any service from them. I was genuinely unhappy with the outcome and wanted some sort of partial refund. They chose the $20 refund amount. I did not push for anything more and was satisfied enough to take that amount. I do not understand why this situation escalated to the point that it did. They could have outright refused a refund and this could have been over. I do not understand why they lied to me over the phone just to get me back into their salon where I was met with such hostility. read more

Came here for a pedicure. There's usually only 2 or three ladies working at a time so be sure you make an appointment! They're all very nice and everything. Pros: Parking is free with validation. They are usually quick and thorough. Sometimes they'll offer you water. They are very nice. Cons: Right across from Wal-Mart (traffic is constant) they do not use tub liners and they shave your feet AND THEN spray with alcohol (painful). For two pedicures it came out to $70 and lasted me about 3 weeks. They now use hot rocks to put under each foot when they massage your opposing leg. All in all not a terrible spot to go to if you're looking for a quick pedicure. read more

I've been needing to write a review. I have yet to find someone who even comes close to measuring up to Rose. She is absolutely amazing. She cares about her customers, takes her time and gives THE best massage. I'm devastated that I don't live in Honolulu anymore. Can't seem to find anyone good in the Seattle area... We arrived and were happily greeted by Tina and her tiny little dog, Bella. The dog literally greeted us by "standing up" on her hind legs. Cutest thing ever. Tina did my mani/pedi. I got a faded glitter design in pink for my mani and she did a FABULOUS job. On to the best part....my pedicure. She started to massage my legs with the exfoliation scrub. She asked me if it was okay or too rough because if it was too rough then she had something else. You know how sometimes we don't like something they do but never say anything at the time. So, it was good that she asked. Oh how could I forget to mention those massage chairs. I typically don't care for the massage chairs in any nail salon. They're never relaxing to me at all. But like everyone else said, these chairs make the experience even that much better. Just when I thought the pedi was over she massaged my legs again with just lotion. Bonus! She did ask if I wanted glitter on my toes too but she wasn't pushy about it at all. Not like some other places that try to upsell the heck out of you with rhinestones and crap. But I just wanted my toes plain and I was very happy with it. I will absolutely be back with my hubby. He must experience the most awesome pedicures ever at Princess Nails! This is the best that I've ever seen my nails and they are shaped perfectly. She's a perfectionist! I felt so welcomed. Usually for my fingernails I like to get the cute decked out Japanesey nails done at Salon Cherie but for my toes I just go to any nail salon. I've kind of been hopping around to different Vietnamese nail salons for my pedis but then I had heard about Princess Nails and how they give awesome massages. I was sold when a friend told me that they give almost an hour long massage! So after work, my girl friend and I headed to Princess Nails (previously made an appt). The interior of the salon wasn't so nice & glamorous as I hoped it would be... definitely not "princess" like lol but it wasn't horrible. They told us to choose our color and then have a seat in their massage chairs. I had a guy give me a pedicure and although I was a little hesitant at first for having a male... he was super nice & friendly and gave a suuuper awesome foot massage. I was in foot heaven! He was very thorough and didn't rush like how some other nails salons do. He wasn't too rough or too soft.. it was like just the right amount of pressure. It was great. And just when I thought he was done.. he kept going! Everyone was right.. the massage was almost an hour! Longest foot massage I've ever had at a salon that's for sure. If your looking for a resort and spa kind of place this is not the place for you HOWEVER if you are going for quality service ...this is the place to go to. I went there to do a pedi/mani. Since it was not busy, one person did my feet and the other did my hands. The lady who did my feet never said a word BUT let me tell you she did such a GREAT job. The lady who did my hands was very nice. I usually go and do my nails every month but I figure I try some where different. This was the FIRST time I fell asleep. The lady who did my pedi did such a great job at massaging my feet that I fell asleep. I was embarrased but the lady insisted that I relax and enjoy my time there. Best place to come for a pedicure! Bible! Not only do I get pedicures here, but I dragged my boyfriend to get a pedi with me. He got his first pedi here and LOVED IT! Recently, he got a hang nail and was in so much pain so I brought him back here (since he was shame to call himself lol) and they were able to relieve some of his pain and give great advice on how to prevent it in the future. Its no wonder why this was the only salon in the area that had openings on a Saturday afternoon at the last minute. Its been only 7 days and the gels on 6 nails are peeling and 1 completely off. I get the French tip pedicure every time, and every time they don't disappoint. They take care of ingrown toenails, massage and exfoliate feet/calves, and are gentle with the tools. They ask if you like the end result and fix whatever is not to your liking. A little pricey, but I have found that sometimes you get what you pay for. I would give 3.5 stars. They have their own parking but beware the parking attendant will yell at you if you don't stop your car to pick up your ticket. The sign that says you need to stop your car is in a corner and easily is missed. More so the parking attendant does not wear a mask. The nail salon is on second floor of an old building but the salon itself was clean. Everyone wears mask and they make you sanitize your hand before entering. Appointments only. We were 15 mins late which the owner was very accommodating for. I got a gel mani, the mani itself was nice. The lady who worked on my nails was very gentle and gave a nice massage. However I wanted fading which she didn't know how to do so I had to settle for the French mani. I would give the mani itself a 4 star. The main started chipping about 2 weeks later. I also minus one star because they charge additional 5% fee if you use credit card. The Gel French mani is $45 which is average compare to other places. I just wish it last a little longer. read more

In town and in desperate need of a fill and pedi, I headed into Princess Nails. First off, most of the nail shops on Keeaumoku are by appointments only. I learned this the hard way one day when I thought I could just walk in to get my nails done and I was unable to. But today was different as I had an appointment for a fill and hoped they could also squeeze me in for a pedi. This nail shop is located above Raging Crab on Keeaumoku st. Parking is in the Sam Sung plaza or you can try for street parking. Unlike the larger salons you'll see in most places, this salon is small and they have only 3 technicians in the salon. The owners are very nice and make you feel very comfortable and welcomed. Having done my nails in other salons, I must say that they pay attention to detail and do quality work. It was very refreshing to not be rushed off the spa chair for another client. My fill and pedicure came out very well and I am very satisfied with the service and quality of their work. I don't live in the area but I'd definitely make a trip to get my nails done here again! read more

Horrible, horrible place now. I've been going to this place for the last 3 years and it was usually good service and clean practices. I called to set up an appt this last time and the lady on the phone told me it would only take 1 hour for manicure and pedicure. I told her I knew it would take longer, but she insisted, that she'd have two people working at the same time on me. Well, when I arrived, it was nothing like that. Needles to say I winded up staying for more than 2 hours, missed my lunch with my husband and the final product was terrible. The people there didn't speak English well, and didn't understand a word. This guy was trying to put GEL on my pedicure????? He also used the tools cleaning my toenails and set them back with the others on the tray without cleaning or disinfecting them Wasting time and $120.
