This is the best that I've ever seen my nails and they are shaped perfectly. She's a perfectionist! I felt so welcomed. I would give 3.5 stars. They have their own parking but beware the parking attendant will yell at you if you don't stop your car to pick up your ticket. The sign that says you need to stop your car is in a corner and easily is missed. More so the parking attendant does not wear a mask. The nail salon is on second floor of an old building but the salon itself was clean. Everyone wears mask and they make you sanitize your hand before entering. Appointments only. We were 15 mins late which the owner was very accommodating for. I got a gel mani, the mani itself was nice. The lady who worked on my nails was very gentle and gave a nice massage. However I wanted fading which she didn't know how to do so I had to settle for the French mani. I would give the mani itself a 4 star. The main started chipping about 2 weeks later. I also minus one star because they charge additional 5% fee if you use credit card. The Gel French mani is $45 which is average compare to other places. Its no wonder why this was the only salon in the area that had openings on a Saturday afternoon at the last minute. Its been only 7 days and the gels on 6 nails are peeling and 1 completely off. I get the French tip pedicure every time, and every time they don't disappoint. They take care of ingrown toenails, massage and exfoliate feet/calves, and are gentle with the tools. They ask if you like the end result and fix whatever is not to your liking. A little pricey, but I have found that sometimes you get what you pay for. These ladies were wonderful! Very professional. They greeted me with water, had the water temperature perfect for my pedicure, and showed me a large variety of color options for my toe nails and shellac manicure. In town and in desperate need of a fill and pedi, I headed into Princess Nails. First off, most of the nail shops on Keeaumoku are by appointments only. I learned this the hard way one day when I thought I could just walk in to get my nails done and I was unable to. But today was different as I had an appointment for a fill and hoped they could also squeeze me in for a pedi. This nail shop is located above Raging Crab on Keeaumoku st. Parking is in the Sam Sung plaza or you can try for street parking. Unlike the larger salons you'll see in most places, this salon is small and they have only 3 technicians in the salon. The owners are very nice and make you feel very comfortable and welcomed. Having done my nails in other salons, I must say that they pay attention to detail and do quality work. It was very refreshing to not be rushed off the spa chair for another client. My fill and pedicure came out very well and I am very satisfied with the service and quality of their work. I don't live in the area but I'd definitely make a trip to get my nails done here again! read more

Horrible, horrible place now. I've been going to this place for the last 3 years and it was usually good service and clean practices. I called to set up an appt this last time and the lady on the phone told me it would only take 1 hour for manicure and pedicure. I told her I knew it would take longer, but she insisted, that she'd have two people working at the same time on me. Well, when I arrived, it was nothing like that. Needles to say I winded up staying for more than 2 hours, missed my lunch with my husband and the final product was terrible. The people there didn't speak English well, and didn't understand a word. This guy was trying to put GEL on my pedicure????? He also used the tools cleaning my toenails and set them back with the others on the tray without cleaning or disinfecting them Wasting time and $120. My BF surprised me one day by booking a pedicure for me. Our baby was about two weeks old and I was badly in need of some TLC. As our friend Russ M adores Rose at Princess Nails my BF thought that this would be the perfect place to drop me off and give me some much need TAFB (Time Away From Baby). Princess Nails is not glamorous but it's reasonably clean and your typical Vietnamese run nail salon. Rose greeted me and got started right away. The water was a good temperature and I enjoyed mindlessly flipping through magazines while she worked on my feet. The television was tuned to the Lifetime channel, which as we all know is the worst channel in the entire world but you can't stop watching it once you tune in. It's like watching a car wreck. You shouldn't want to look at it but there's just no way that you can't. The movie I watched had one of the girls from "Grey's Anatomy" and she was part of some Utah cult where she was one of twelve wives. Yes, I know I just lost an hour of my life I will never get back and I am possibly much dumber because of it. Overall it was a very good pedicure but the one complaint that I have is that they really need to ease up on scrubbing your calves with that exfoliating scrub or find a scrub that has smaller granules. Rose scrubbed the sh*t out of my legs and I was in unspeakable pain. I thought I was being a wuss but in retrospect, she really scrubbed the sh*t out of my legs and it hurt! The granules in the scrub fell like big grains of sand. I'm sure there are people who enjoy this part of the pedicure but it just wasn't for me. I'd say you'll probably enjoy the scrub if you have a high threshold for pain or if you're a dude with thick skin. I'll probably return again but I'm going to tell Rose to lay off of the scrub and just use lotion. read more

WOW! Tried this place today on a friend's recommendation that they give the best foot massage of any nail salon she's ever tried and the bf and I were not disappointed at all. We didn't have appts, but they took us right away. They made sure we were comfy and turned on the massage chair for us. (If you know me, the massage chair is a big part of why i love pedis LOL) Neither my tech or my bf's tech was talkative, but I was ok with that. They both paid a lot of attention to their tasks at hand. The attention to detail was amazing, if you ask me. After my tech removed the polish from my toes, she held out her hand for mine and took off the "sample" spot I had painted on my thumbnail. I didn't mention it to her prior and I don't even think she saw me picking my polish! The foot massage was seriously like half an hour long and it was awesome. Great pressure, very relaxing. The bf mouthed to me that he wanted to go to sleep LOL! The massage was done with an exfoliating scrub, which I thought was a little strange, but it left my skin really smooth and soft. Loved it. It was a little pricier than the places we usually go to, but for all the attention and care they took, it is well worth the price. For the bf's pedi + mine (which included nail art), the total was $71. I will definitely be back! read more

My friend turned me on to this place. I wanted to take her to get a pedi for her bday and she recommended this place. We usually go to Smiley's in Kaimuki and we like it alright but she seen all the great Yelp reviews and decided to try it a couple of weeks ago and liked it so much she wanted to go back again so I made the appointment and we went. This place is on the second floor, across from WalMart and not at all like Smiley's. In fact this place is MUCH smaller. There are 4 pedi stations and 2 man stations. The owner is an older lady who is very personable and accommodating. I'm not too picky about my nails per se but I do expect good service and the nail artists to have some pride in their work. Being Part-Hawaiian, I have large, wide, flat feet (for a woman) which isn't something you'd like to see when you're giving a pedicure I'm sure. Petite, girlie feet I have not. The one benefit about having feet like this (or so I've been told) is that my toe nails are big "canvases" (unlike smaller nails) which helps when you are painting tiny, delicate designs on them. I gotta say the highlight of the entire pedi experience (besides the sisterhood chats you have by being with friends) is actually the attention they give to your footsies. They clean, scrub, trim, soften and massage your feet...and they don't rush at all. They take their time and do it right. I've been to places where it's all about the quick turnover - getting you in and out so they don't spend too much time on "problem" areas like trimming down cuticles or sloughing off dead skin, etc. but after leaving this place my size 10's were happy and soft, feeling more feminine than they have for a long, long time. It's $30+ for your basic, no design pedicure but with the thorough job that they did I'd say well worth it, better than anything that I would get for about $10 less somewhere else. Btw - the owner has a pet chihuahua she brings to work with her and shows off. On another note, she also has an actual full-body massage place down the hall from so if you're interested in getting a Thai massage ask about that when you're there and enjoy! read more

I read the reviews prior to making an appointment. I considered that the people who complained about the scrub being too harsh were just being wussies. Come on, how can a scrub be that bad? Now I know, they were right. I didn't find the scrub to be pleasurable at all because it was like wet gravel on my skin. I wanted to whine like a little b%$ but I maintained, thinking in my head that there is a method to this madness. Exfoliation = no more dead skin. On the plus side, the woman was very kind and although her fingers dug painfully into the arches of my feet, I noted that she referred to the customers by first name and didn't talk snidely in Vietnamese to her co-worker about me (seems to be a common practice in other salons). I give it a three because customer service is number one on my list and her customer service made up for the pain. read more

This is actually a 3.5 star review :) *but yelp doesn't do halves on rating scale... hint, employees, cough cough* Right above the Crab shack and across from Keeamoku Walmart, this place is a little hole in the wall that you can easily find if you take the stairs. I made an appointment with my stepmom a couple of days before; so they woman who took my call was direct but nice about it. When you walk in: it's a small studio for couple chairs and small stations for manicures and pedicures. Definitely not the spa atmosphere, but the women who did my pedicure did a great job. Soaking, massage, and a lot of scrubs were involved. The TV was on, a paralyzed chihauhau was staring at me (it was kinda cute in a way) in its own stroller.. My only complaint is probably the talkative woman who handles payment. While I was getting a pedi, she came up to me with a box saying to donate coins because there's starving children and that I should give a big tip because they only keep $10 for themselves and the rest goes to their church. The women who did my feet looked at her (employee/family member) with an expression of disbelief but said nothing. Then, the talkative women flashed out a hash brown she had from Mcdonalds and was walking back and forth, speaking in Vietmenese to the other workers. The women who did both of our feet were really quiet and thorough at their job. Most of the time, their responses to the other employee was a small chuckle and a slight nod. After 1 hour of careful scrubbing, trimming, and massaging it was $70 for 2 people; but I was slightly confused because she told me it was $30... but hey, it's a small business, so why not? I of course gave tips to both girls. Would I come back? It's debatable. The atmosphere was definitely lacking and I did feel slightly uncomfortable with the other woman. I decided to get a pedicure here based on the consistently positive reviews. I was lucky enough to call the minute they opened and get an appoint for the same day. During my session, the owner was still receiving calls for the that day and having to turn them away. The salon is located in an unassuming, sketchy looking old building that hasn't sold out to the giant corporations surrounding it. The owner greeted me and I had only to wait a few minutes before being seated in the pedi chair. The pedicure handled the calloused areas so much better than any other pedi I've had. My preference would have been for a less frenetic massage, but I'll take the baby soft heels any day. I asked for nail art, a plumeria, and it was simply beautiful along with the nail color! Princess Nails is located on the second floor, above the crab place, at Samsung Plaza. the validate your parking but I do recommend coming early as there is only a little parking for the amount of businesses that occupy the area. I try to do pedicures every month to month and a half because I am hard on my feet. My friend and I normally go to Tina or Rose. When you enter the establishment, it is comfortably airconditioned and clean. I don't normally smell any chemicals in the air and they are always vaccuuming. They will ask you if you have a reservation. Reservations are highly recommended. Please don't forget. They had chairs ready for my friend and I within minutes of us arriving(we got there early) and had us rest our feet in the hot(but not scalding) water. These two tiny women are very strong. I repeat, very strong. My first time here I told the worker that it was too much and they let off a little. That is the style of massage that they do. Nowerdays, I love the leg massage. If you tell them no razor, they will do no razor. They instead use a pedi microplace(like a pedegg with a handle) it is effective and not as scary to some. All of this while the massage chair works on your back. This is my go to, no frills, pedi place. It's clean, affordable, and the workers are friendly. OK, I know I'm a dude but the pedicures here a equivalent to walking through heaven. This is because the pedicures here aren't really pedicures, they're more like hour long foot and leg massages! I always ask for Lynn. The staff is very kind and patient. I noticed they also have a bunch of regulars that come in whom the staff calls by their names. By far, this is my favorite man/pedi place on the island. I get pedi's every month. They are about quality vs quantity. I always go in for the pedicure with Lynn (love her), and she takes great care of me. Besides a great pedicure, I always look forward to the foot and calf massage, since I'm in the service industry and standing all day. She has strong hands (a must!), she's professional, gives good advice on how to take care of your feet, and has a very sweet demeanor. I come out relaxed and polished. I'm thankful that I found her. My feet had been in terrible shape until now! No more hard calluses or overgrown skin around my nailbeds. My feet actually look nice and the massage I received was so good! I've never written a review and usually just read what others say but this place can have my first time honor! I got there early for my appointment and was seated on time. While I waited I noticed how simple the shop was but everyone in it seemed to be a happy regular so I figured the service was why they kept coming back. when the process began I was waiting for some sort of fireworks. Everything was uneventful until both of my attendants began the actual massage, then BAM I was physically and emotionally transported to a happy land were my feet no longer screamed at me "really you thought that a 12 hour day and a conference were you are the only point of contact for a bunch of fools was a good idea in anything but sneakers!!!!" So yeah it was good, and I mean run off and leave the husband and kids I don't even have in exchange for a rub like that weekly! In addition to it feeling good the pedi attendant could tell that I suffered from back pain, a strained ligament and annoying job without me saying anything! Random highlights the owner: * Turning a customer away because she could tell she wanted something cheaper and was not interested in the service they would offer because "it is worth the price" * Being told to make appointments and to be punctual because "I will make you wait if you make me wait!" * Being told that I need to use the lotion I purchased twice a day because "if I sell it to you, I expect you to use it with consistency, because in 6 months you will be back with no good change! and I will be upset!" My appointment was first thing when it opened, so it was empty and no one else came in until towards the end. The massage was nice. She wasn't shy with pressure and my feet felt really good after. I like having designs on my toes, and ended up getting just a french tip with rhinestones at the bottom of the nail... I was hoping for something more but I was okay with it... The staff were very friendly and when other clients came in, similar to some of the other reviews, the staff knew them, were talking about their kids, and it was like they knew each other for a long time. I've been coming here since high school and before that, I jumped from salon to salon and I can say that this is the best pedi ever. To be honest, I like having color on my toes but the main reason why I go is for the awesome massage. I've been to places where they just slather lotion and scrubies on your leg and just kinda softly rub it around but that's not what they do here. I've read that people don't really like how hard they rub but I think it's perfect. Maybe it's because I can take a lot of pressure and my skin is kinda tough but I appreciate the strength they put into my massage. I like seeing that they spray the tub down with cleaner after each client and they sweep up the dead skin (gross, but it comes with the pedi!). They are also constantly trying to improve the salon because I saw the owner ordering new cushions for the chairs and trying to incorporate a gel option. I try to come at least once a month as a treat to myself and it's always difficult to choose a color. The only teeeny tiny downside to Princess is what I think is a bit of a small selection of color. Almost everything are in shades of reds, pinks, and oranges. Perhaps if they use some Essie in addition to the O.P.I? I would love to try some pastels but they don't carry any in shades I'm interested in. But it's just a preference. All the nail techs there are super nice and although some may not speak much English, they try to accommodate with whatever you want. P.S. I love seeing Bella and other doggies there! read more

Hands down the best pedicure I have ever had. My bf and I went together. It was his first pedicure and he didn't want to admit to liking it but I know he did! They definitely take care of your feet a lot more than other places I have been to. The massages were great and super relaxing. And although I chose a really light color that came out pale, the woman that was doing my pedicure made sure it looked nice by layering 4 times and adding a layer of glitter. Before arriving to the nail salon we couldn't find it, because it seemed hidden. However, calling Princess Nails to help us find their location was great! The lady was nice and patient with us, as we tried to figure out where they were located. When we arrived, we decided to get a pedicure! It was amazing! They massage your leg and foot for a VERY long time. I have never experienced such an excellent customer-centered service! Most nail salons rush through everything so they can help the next customer, but these people are GREAT! I was looking for a nice, but inexpensive place to get a pedicure, so as usual I went on yelp to look at reviews. I found that Princess Nails seemed to have some good reviews so I wanted to check it out. When I walked there, I couldn't find the location at first, after I called them, the lady on the phone politely told me to look UP lol, their salon is on the second floor so I totally missed it. It's right above the crab/ seafood place. I notice right away that this place is CLEAN and small, just the way I like it. The windows bring in nice lighting, the light wood floors also brighten up the room. They have a cute Chihuahua that's running around. There was a good selection of colors, I feel like they could use a little more, but they did have a lot of variation in color. There were only 4 pedicure stations, but I find its more relaxing in a less crowded room. Even though I didn't have an appointment and I was unaware that they were supposed to close in 30 mins, they still helped me. The pedicure costs $32. You get to sit in nice comfy massage chairs, while your feet get a good soak in the tub, then an exfoliation, and then a great calf and foot massage, and finally an color of your choice on your toes. I really appreciated my technicians attention to detail, she was thorough and gentle. I have this toenail that is starting to come off because it was smashed back in June, she was very aware of it and used gentler pressure around those areas. I am also very particular when they clip my nails, and she didn't clip too much it didn't hurt at all! The massage chairs are nice too, and they have a flat-screen TV, so if you're not falling asleep during your pedi, you can watch anything you would like. This is a super plus cause it's a good incentive to get my bf to come with me, so he can watch his football games and relax at the same time. Overall the service was good, the facility was clean and my technician was nice and sociable, I would come here again. They did wonders on my feet and got all my dry calluses off and the massage was great and not short at all. Very different mix of clientele, plus the hot tattoo guys across the hall are nice to look at too. I've been coming to get a pedicure here for 4+ years, at least once a month, and I love Rose! She gives the best foot massages! She really takes her time and knows what she's doing. It feels like a reflexology foot massage, if you ask me. Best of all, she's not annoying like some of the pedicure ladies who always want to make conversation and talk to you. Rose makes sure the pressure is ok, then I fall asleep to la-la land. Call and make an appointment ahead of time, as Roses' spots fill up fast. They have free, validated parking. Lots of parking available, but it gets kinda hectic during the day, as there are a lot of other businesses sharing the stalls. Minus one star, as I've been noticing lately they do not want to accept credit cards. I'm assuming due to the fact they get a credit card charge. This was never a problem in the past. If you're like me, I never carry cash. They have been charging me an extra $3-4, to use my card. A little annoying at times, but I will keep coming back to Rose. I refuse to see anyone else! read more
