Whew weeee!! This…read morelocation was something to talk about. I have been dying to get in this place for years but always on a tight schedule to get elsewhere. This was a Lion and Tigers and Bears OH MY situation! It's quite crowded in here. Not cluttered but crowded. They have soooo much stuff and it's all in order. This place could be 2-3 floors easy!! I saw all of my fav brands at great prices. They have a huge selection of high-end wear for a great price. They have a huge selection of summer, spring and winter wear. The cosmetics and body care... chef's kiss!! They have everything in every color/ scent/ size!! Cool accessories, luggage galore, etc. I did not take a gander at the shoes as I had a show nearby to attend. I bought 2 gorge blouses and a short sleeve loose fitting denim blue top. I will revisit very soon for some more shopping greatness.

Lots of great "stuff" and finds....if you have the patience to look around and dig for it…read more This Nordstrom Rack is loaded with brand name products, designer clothing, jewelry, household goods and all at decent prices. The only gripe I have specifically with this location.....is that it is waaayyy too cluttered-- overstocked with just stuff everywhere! And, let's talk about organization to make things easy to find....forget it. It sort of reminds me of Filene's Basement (on Connecticut Ave) from back in the day or a " sub high-end" Thrift store. If you park on the street nearby this store, you better load up your parking meter to the max.... Because you're going to need the time to roam around this place. Note: There is no parking lot or garage..... so you don't want your parking meter to expire because we all know parking tickets in DC is like paying rent or the amount of a one night hotel stay. lol Other than this, not a bad shopping experience here. There's something for everyone when it comes to looking for bargain clothing that's from designer labels and semi on trend. One plus I will say about this Nordstrom Rack location, is that they carry a large selection of men's business and casual clothing. This location carries tons of business suits, dress shirts, ties and business casual slacks-pants. I think the reason for this is because this location is centrally located in the downtown DC area and business district that is primarily surrounded by law offices, lobby firms, consulting firms and federal government agencies. You often don't find this at a lot of Nordstrom Rack and bargain clothing, places like Marshall's/TJMaxx around the DMV. There are also tons of men's athletic shoes, casual sneakers, great running shoes and dress shoes. In all, you can't go wrong shopping here. Although, the Pentagon City location is more my speed. This location is not all bad. Lots of good finds and decent customer service. Just have a little patience and time to roam around this treasure trove!

How to lose a customer of 15-20 years…read more For almost 20 years, Fleet Feet, both in DC and more recently in Asheville, North Carolina, has been where I shop for sneakers twice a year. To save on wear, I buy 2-3 pairs at a time (costing about $400-600 a visit depending on number, socks and arch supports, etc.) and rotate wearing them throughout the week. Today I brought this pair of Brooks back to DC to ask what could be done. I've probably worn them at most 15 days since buying them in mid-last month; the soles are delaminating. An annoyingly passive sales clerk began dancing around the question offering nothing. I eventually abbreviated his babble about normal wear and tear by observing that it doesn't sound like the store can do anything as just over 30 days have passed since the purchase of several pairs. No exchange, no assistance with the manufacturer, no suggestions for repair? I observed that this doesn't seem like normal wear and that its disappointing to see how quickly these expensive shoes are coming apart and how little can be done. His only response was a dismissive "Have a nice day" delivered in a mocking tone. I turned and left the store quietly for the last time in my life without punching him and without responding. some suggestions for better customer service: When your store has a no refund or exchange strict policy, even in the face of defective goods, you should at least provide your customer with contact information to reach out to the manufacturer. If you work in a shoe store, it might be good to be aware of shoe repair places, or glues that might be tried, or to confirm that there are really no glue solutions that could be tried. In other words, know your products and offer some modicum of assistance, even if it's not likely to answer the customer's immediate request. Don't be snide when you are denying service to someone who has been a regular customer and who has clearly brought in a shoe that is not behaving as it should. Not sure where I'll send my $1200/year in purchases now. But I will find a place to remove that revenue from Fleet Feet, and I will let people know of my experience there.

I would give this store and especially Todd Lippert who took care of me on a recent visit to…read moreGeorgetown-- 500 stars if I could. This is the best shoe shopping experience I've had in my life! I have always had sensitive feet and difficulty finding well fitting comfortable and stylish shoes. Now that I've gotten older, I have developed some minor foot problems. In the past two years I have had to spend thousands of dollars on acupuncture and physical therapy , different kinds of orthotics, and different kinds of shoes. I came into the store after seeing it referred to in a guidebook. I never had a shoe sales person like Todd! . He is dedicated to giving you outstanding service, no matter what it takes. He's thoroughly knowledgeable about the anatomy and physiology of the foot, recommends the best shoes style for you, is endlessly patient, friendly, energetic and enthusiastic. Loves what he does. The store has a superb selection of very high level shoes , which I found to be comfortable, supportive where I needed it, stylish and well fitting. I bought several pairs. I brought my brother in, who was suffering from a bunion and only had one pair of shoes he could wear. He came out with two new pairs and off-the-shelf orthotics that immediately caused his pain to cease. I brought in my nephew, who had plantar fasciitis, and he came out with a pair of new shoes and off-the-shelf orthotics and was suddenly walking comfortably again. Same with my niece who had bunio himn problems. The store has a very advanced machine that scans the foot, instantaneously generates several computer models of it, and analyzes all the problems, to help solve them with the proper footwear. Don't waste your time, as I did, endlessly searching for the right kind of shoes and spending hours online or tramping through stores and returning shoes, or buying them and then having them not be quite right. Comfort One,,, the Georgetown branch is the place to shop THANK YOU TODD and Comfort ONE! Susan H

The shoes I liked were 99 dollars, according to the salesman. They were some stylish patent…read moreleather nike cross trainers, and I hadn't seen the anywhere else in town. I didn't want a new pair of shoes, though, so I went on browsing the store. Then the sales guy came up to me again: "You try them on, I make a special price." As I said, I didn't even want the shoes...but I was curious--it had been four months since my trip to India, and I was nostalgic for bargaining. I tried them on and he knocked off ten bucks. That's when I got in to it... "...Oh, I don't know." I was saying "My avias were only 60. These don't seem breathable. What's the material, anyway?" "Material?" he said, "This is full grain leather." "It's not full grain," I said. (In bargaining, always invent bogus faults to bring the value down) "Not full grain!?" he shouted, "This is Airmax 9!" Then, after scowling awhile, he said: "I'll give you 80." "Give me 60." "70," he hissed as I walked out the store, quiet enough that other customers wouldn't hear. It was a damn good price, actually--turns out that those shoes are $89.99 on Eastbay. Really I shouldn't be writing about this on Yelp, because I don't want to hurt the man's business by spreading word of secret low prices...but the point is these guys will bargain, and I like that about the store. Overall a good place to find the newest, rare, and vintage shoes. A good selection--just don't get pressured into buying something you don't want, because these are shrewd salesmen.
