Absolutely loved visiting the Washington DC Rothy's location. If you haven't researched this brand please do, you'll be pleasantly surprised with their level of appreciation for foot health. Most of my life I've purchased the same size shoe .. sure sometimes they feel too small but my size is my size right? Well, no lol A comfortable shoe is more than the prize and size, but most importantly it's the size and fit. Well, the advice I received from the customer care members at Rothy's explained this to me and more. Plus they assisted me with trying on different sizes and shapes. My hat goes off!

Mia was amazing!!! She walked me through the almond loafer, the driver, the points, and the flats! I was in dire need as I have been walking with holes in my sketchers for ever. After a nice lunch in Georgetown I was feeling frisky enough to brace new shops. Rothys didn't have a line, for once, and i was able to come in and try all the different types! I resonated the most with loafers for a casual, comfy, loafer style for standing and working! I'm so excited to take these bad boys for a ride!

Rothy's - The display case showcases several pairs of shoes with various patterns, such as leopard print and houndstooth, arranged neatly on a light-colored surface. The shoes include flats, loafers, and slip-ons, with some featuring contrasting interior linings. A sign inside the case reads 'The Archive Event,' indicating a special collection or promotion. The case is made of wood and glass, with reflections visible on the surface.

I hate waiting in line, so I did not enjoy my trip to here. They only let at most 10 people inside and made us wait over 20 minutes to get in. Imagine if you came during a cold day! What kind of store does that? I like the concept and the whole recycling and green idea. People who worked here were nice, so the wait felt a bit better once inside. Lots of choices for women and limited for men.

The image shows the exterior of Rothy's, a shoe store, with a brick facade and a large display window. Inside the window, shoes are arranged on stands, and the store's name, Rothy's, is displayed on the glass. The window reflects nearby buildings and trees. There are exterior wall-mounted lights on either side of the window, and a small sign indicating accessibility options is visible at the bottom left of the window. The sidewalk in front is made of brick pavers.

I love my Rothy's so visiting the store was a must. They sell shoes and bags that are made from recycled water bottles. The styles that I like best are the loafer and point. I liked that I was able to try on a few other styles but was disappointed with the color selection here. I did leave with a pair of points in bright red so that was a plus.

The Ballet Flat reviews show that this style is True to Size so ordering a half to full size down (not up) in the AD makes sense. - The image features a webpage review section for ballet flats, highlighting a 4.3-star rating from 257 reviews. It includes a 'Write a Review' button, an overall fit comment indicating true to size, and review filter options such as fit, size, comfort, and quality. The layout emphasizes customer feedback and product ratings.

I had the worst customer service experience to date at this location on 12/26/23. [Note: This review is solely due to this and not the products themselves.] I had been looking for a classic vegan ballet flat for a while so when I discovered Rothy's, I decided to drop by their Los Angeles store on Black Friday to see the styles in person and find the right size. The employee who assisted me, Ashley, was so kind and helpful. They ordered the ballet flat in my size online and had it delivered to my home. I liked The Ballet Flat and Rothy's so much after that encounter that I was also eyeing The Almond Demi (AD), but wasn't sure of the fit/size. When I visited the DMV area, Georgetown specifically, I stumbled upon this location. I walked in excited to hopefully try on the AD in person and make a purchase. A female employee was helping a couple so I decided to sit down and wait my turn. A few minutes later, a male employee came over and asked if I needed anything. I explained that I already own a pair of Rothy's and was looking to try the AD. He said they didn't carry these in store because they weren't a popular style (?). I then asked this employee if I could try on The Square Mary Jane and he asks me in which color so I ask him which colors are available. He seemed annoyed with me from the moment I asked to see the AD, but at this point he seemed completely bothered by my question as if he didn't know which colors were available and/or he was expecting me to know what colors are in stock. In an effort to deescalate, I asked him to bring any color that is available in the same size I ordered The Ballet Flat in a couple months ago. I tried them on and they fit well. The employee proceeded to tell me that they looked too tight and that I should size up, but I confirmed that this size is roomy and comfortable for me, which he seemed irritated by. We discussed the AD further and he pulled up the reviews online that show that this style runs large so, in my mind, it would make sense to order at least a half size smaller than I ordered in The Ballet Flat. However, the employee continued stating that I should order a size larger, which makes no sense to me. Here, the employee became combative and had a bit of an I-know-better-than-you attitude so I got up to leave. As I headed to the door, a different pair of shoes near the female employee caught my eye so I asked her a question about them and after a few exchanges, explained to her why I stopped by Rothy's in the first place. Although she was already helping the couple, she suggested I try The Almond Loafer to get an idea of how the AD would fit. She even brought out her own personal pair of AD's so I could see them in person, which was so helpful! This caused the male employee to have a fit in front of me and the couple. He stated that he was confused and that he thought he had done everything to help me decide which size to get in the AD, but clearly it wasn't enough. He then stormed off into the back room. The couple and I looked at each other in disbelief and, thankfully, the couple stated that the employee shouldn't be behaving this way, which made me feel better. Obviously, after this, I left. Maybe the Tysons Corner location (opening soon) will have better customer service.

Note the emerald sole on this sour apple point! (Sorry for the bad pic) - The image shows a person standing in a shoe store fitting room, with their foot reflected in a mirror. The person is wearing a beige shoe with a blue sole, and their other foot is partially visible on the floor. The background includes wooden fixtures, a display shelf with shoes, and a digital screen or panel. The store has a modern interior with wooden and black elements.

Thank you, Janet!! She wasn't a sales associate; she was a Consultant. I bought (and loved) a pair of Rothy's a few years ago, but was still skittish about buying them online - especially a new style. People talk in the reviews about sizing and materials, but opinions are subjective and some comments contradict others. So I decided to go in person and give the retail store a try. I'm told that the round toe styles run true to size; the points run small. OK, that seems easy enough, right? At first I felt bad because Janet brought out so many pairs in so many colors in both 8.5 and 9 for me to try. But she explained that even within the same style, the size and fit varies with the colors/material used (ie the metallic vs the regular fabric). When trying on, she instructed me to do the tiptoe test - stand on your toes, tiptoe around, and see if the heel slips off (= too big). Maybe that's basic but I know left to my own devices I would have gone for a snug fit and bought a pair too small. To me, the right ones felt too "roomy" around the middle, when what matters is the heel and the point where your toes are hitting in the shoe. Janet examined the outer joints of my foot in the shoe; if the fabric bulged at all they were deemed too small. Apparently, being made of recycled plastic, the fabric has no "break in" or stretching out. You wouldn't guess this from mere looking and try-ons. Janet shared more helpful info - which colors were "special edition" (gone forever after the season) and which colors would always be in stock; she pointed out the special soles that some shoes had (the hot pink have a sole w leopard print; the sour apple, an emerald sole) - I never would have noticed these special details and would have assumed the that all the soles were tan or black. And she shared that if you bring back an old pair of Rothy's, they recycle them - and give you $30 off a new pair! Again, maybe all this is info others figure out on their own. But if you're like me - you order online ten different sizes and variations of a shoe and then end up having to return them all - you will truly benefit from the exceptional assistance and in-store experience here. Janet, you're my Rothy's guardian angel - thank you!!

The Lace Up in Vanilla - The image depicts a person standing on a wooden floor, wearing white sneakers, a green skirt with a white daisy pattern, and a gold anklet. The photo is taken from a top-down perspective, focusing on the person's feet and part of the skirt.

This was a Lion and Tigers and Bears OH MY situation! It's quite crowded in here. Not cluttered but crowded. They have soooo much stuff and it's all in order. This place could be 2-3 floors easy!! I saw all of my fav brands at great prices. They have a huge selection of high-end wear for a great price. They have a huge selection of summer, spring and winter wear. The cosmetics and body care... chef's kiss!! They have everything in every color/ scent/ size!! Cool accessories, luggage galore, etc. I did not take a gander at the shoes as I had a show nearby to attend. I bought 2 gorge blouses and a short sleeve loose fitting denim blue top. I will revisit very soon for some more shopping greatness.

We were shopping for outfits for our son's graduation, which should have been a positive and memorable occasion. Instead, I was subjected to unprofessional, confrontational, and ultimately abusive behavior by a fitting room associate. Upon approaching the fitting room, I followed the associate's directions regarding where to place my cart, although her instructions were inconsistent and unclear. Inside the dressing room, I found a shirt that had been left behind by a previous customer. After trying on approximately seven items, I returned them to hangers and exited the fitting room. At that point, the associate demanded that I remove and hang the shirt that I had not brought into the dressing room. I explained that it was not mine. She became visibly frustrated, entered the room herself, and then shifted her focus to insisting that I return all of my items to the exact locations on the sales floor where I had found them. I placed the clothing neatly on the rack provided near the fitting room, which is standard practice in most retail stores. I declined to return the items to the sales floor, as that is typically handled by store staff to ensure proper organization. The situation escalated significantly when the associate followed me out of the fitting area and toward the front of the store, continuing to confront me. She then called me a "horrible human being" and used an additional demeaning term toward me. Racially motivated ! Being followed and verbally insulted while exiting the store was both shocking and unacceptable. I think she forgot what her job actually was and that was too curate the clothing, and to rehang them up she had the nerve to continue following me and would have exited the store to follow me. Had someone else stopped her I am a 50-year-old customer who has shopped in retail stores my entire life, and I have never experienced anything remotely like this. This interaction was not only unprofessional but crossed the line into harassment. this incident be investigated thoroughly. No customer should be treated in this manner under any circumstances. I would also appreciate a response outlining what steps will be taken to address this situation and ensure it does not happen to others. Huge thumbs down to this store and this horrible little twit
