    My new black McAllisters...
    Andrew M.

Personal. Professional. Knowledgeable. Amazing Products. American Made. They say great products sell themselves, and that may be true. Great customer service, though, creates customers for life, and that's what Allen Edmonds does at this location! Two years ago, while visiting Washington, D.C. on business (I do this almost yearly), I bought my first pair of Allen Edmonds. That night, I decided on a Walnut pair of McAllisters, a breathtaking wing-tip. Henry Clavijo worked with me that night, sizing my feet like a professional and giving me suggestions on the purchase. Shortly after buying, the original pair developed a weird crease on the side of one foot. Henry and his manager at the time, Chris, had me bring them in and swap them out. Since getting those replacements, I've worn them about 30% of my workdays over the last two years and they're as breathtaking as they were the first day I strolled through a convention floor with them. Yesterday, almost two years after purchasing my first, I was ready to buy another pair of Allen Edmonds...in black this time. I went back to the same store and, low and behold, Henry was there to greet me. He remembered my name, the shoes I bought, and even the little problem I had with the first pair. Seriously. I have coached kids in football whose parents have a hard time remembering my name. Henry met me twice....what a classy touch! Henry worked with me yesterday to make sure I wanted my new black shoes to be McAllisters, always professional and never pushy. My heart stayed with the McAllisters, and I love them. Allen Edmonds shoes are impeccable; purchasing these shoes is not like purchasing $60 pieces of crap from the department store. No....buying these shoes are an investment in yourself and your feet. I have never had shoes or boots that have looked or felt as close to new after even a YEAR as my original Walnut McAllisters do after two. Need proof? Check the pictures below. People like Henry are why Allen Edmonds has such a cult following. While these shoes are amazing in their own right, made by fine American craftsmen with the best materials available, the customer service is unreal. In about eight years, I will be bringing my son to buy his first pair of Allen Edmonds...and it will be right here in Washington, DC. Hopefully, it will be Henry there waiting to greet us at the door...

Good store, great products, fantastic manager! D.C. is full of lousy customer service so Henry really stands out!

This was a Lion and Tigers and Bears OH MY situation! It's quite crowded in here. Not cluttered but crowded. They have soooo much stuff and it's all in order. This place could be 2-3 floors easy!! I saw all of my fav brands at great prices. They have a huge selection of high-end wear for a great price. They have a huge selection of summer, spring and winter wear. The cosmetics and body care... chef's kiss!! They have everything in every color/ scent/ size!! Cool accessories, luggage galore, etc. I did not take a gander at the shoes as I had a show nearby to attend. I bought 2 gorge blouses and a short sleeve loose fitting denim blue top. I will revisit very soon for some more shopping greatness.

We were shopping for outfits for our son's graduation, which should have been a positive and memorable occasion. Instead, I was subjected to unprofessional, confrontational, and ultimately abusive behavior by a fitting room associate. Upon approaching the fitting room, I followed the associate's directions regarding where to place my cart, although her instructions were inconsistent and unclear. Inside the dressing room, I found a shirt that had been left behind by a previous customer. After trying on approximately seven items, I returned them to hangers and exited the fitting room. At that point, the associate demanded that I remove and hang the shirt that I had not brought into the dressing room. I explained that it was not mine. She became visibly frustrated, entered the room herself, and then shifted her focus to insisting that I return all of my items to the exact locations on the sales floor where I had found them. I placed the clothing neatly on the rack provided near the fitting room, which is standard practice in most retail stores. I declined to return the items to the sales floor, as that is typically handled by store staff to ensure proper organization. The situation escalated significantly when the associate followed me out of the fitting area and toward the front of the store, continuing to confront me. She then called me a "horrible human being" and used an additional demeaning term toward me. Racially motivated ! Being followed and verbally insulted while exiting the store was both shocking and unacceptable. I think she forgot what her job actually was and that was too curate the clothing, and to rehang them up she had the nerve to continue following me and would have exited the store to follow me. Had someone else stopped her I am a 50-year-old customer who has shopped in retail stores my entire life, and I have never experienced anything remotely like this. This interaction was not only unprofessional but crossed the line into harassment. this incident be investigated thoroughly. No customer should be treated in this manner under any circumstances. I would also appreciate a response outlining what steps will be taken to address this situation and ensure it does not happen to others. Huge thumbs down to this store and this horrible little twit

I think what happens is that I mindlessly walk through here as I use it as a passageway. I need to start paying attention to what is in here and keep note of it. Basically this is a mall. Like every mall just about everywhere, they are without some businesses. But, I will say this about the DMV area, even with some shops being empty, the malls still know how to draw people in. Even if it is just for the food options. This place has a ton of food options and some of the places in here are the only place in DC to find them, or at least a place where it is fairly easy to get to in order to visit the business. They got the run of the chains you would see in almost any food court. Charleys, Five Guys, Jamba Juice, Moe's, Panda Express, Starbucks, Subway, etc. But there are a lot of mom and pop stands mixed in. You can definitely find something for your lunch or a quick snack. This is one of the only places I have seen a Church's Chicken in the city. It can be a maze walking through here, especially if you arrive via Metro. But like I said, it is a great passageway to get yourself to areas without having to be outside. With the Spy Museum on the one end it's a great place to spend a day in the city. The Wharf not too far either. There are a few shops throughout as well. Mostly open during daylight hours if you need to grab a thing or two. Everything from a post office to a convenience type store. If you are lucky enough to work nearby, I am sure this is busy around the lunchtime hour.

If you're staying at the Hilton, there's a direct connection to it from the hotel. So this place is helpful because it has several fast food options. Nothing to rave about, but when you're traveling access to quick, fast food is important. Many food places either seemed always closed when I went a few times or open at inconsistent times. The place also never seems busy. Kinda ghost town-ish. Panda Express seemed to be the main attraction here. All together tho, it was clean. I think the space has potential to be a more useful shopping space for people.
