I'm in DC for work and I only packed a pair of dress shoes and white sneakers, at a time where rain comes and goes during the summer. I walked into Pacers Running after days of uncomfortable walking and I was drawn to the On running shoes. Chad helped me out, but my size had to be ordered since they ran out. He immediately called right when he got my order, and now I'm a happy fella without sore feet!

They worked with me to find the perfect pair!

I never knew Pacers was a thing, but after failing twice at buying athletic shoes online I asked my friends for shoe recommendations. A friend recommended Pacers to me instead, saying that they will measure your feet and help find the exact shoe to fit your needs. I looked them up online and found they have several locations in and near DC, but this location was closest to me and was open on a Friday after work. It was the day of a Nats game so Navy Yard was bustling. This store is in between two restaurants, but easy to find. I was the only customer in the store, but that meant I had the full attention and help of the employee working. She greeted me as soon as I walked in and asked if I needed help. I definitely did! I explained that I needed new shoes for Jazzercise. A shoe that can be supportive and flexible through intense indoor cardio sessions. She measured my feet and watched me walk without shoes on, asked my preferred size, and went to the back to get some options. After trying the first one on and mentioning they felt a bit tight on the toes, she recommended I actually go up half a size, explaining that when exercising it's important for your toe bed to have enough room. She came back with 3 options in the bigger size. They were all different brands but each were so great! She explained each shoe in detail and encouraged me to jump around and test them out. And even suggested wearing one of each of the two I liked to compare. I ended up settling on a pair of Nike's. It was at this point that I realized I didn't see prices on the wall of shoes and my budget hadn't been discussed. I go to Jazzercise around 3 times a week though, so I knew I wanted to invest in my feet. I was glad to hear they were $120. About double for the shoes I've been buying online, but they were far superior in comfort! And I instantly fell in love with the color and style. I never felt pressured into buying, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Check out was quick and easy, and she signed me up for their free rewards program. Every $200 that is spent, you receive $20 in store credit. And you don't have to spend that much all at once, it adds up each visit. They had a great selection of shorts, pants, tops, sports bras, and socks so I could definitely see myself overspending here! They also had mens and childrens items as well as some snacky/nutritional type things. Super friendly service and exactly what I needed. I will be back again!

Amazing furnishings and unique selection of lifestyle and running apparel.

The staff is always a pleasure. Down to earth, good people. The clothes don't suck either. ;)

Majority of Navy Yard is populated with local chains, and SOMEWHERE offered something unique. BLUE MATCHA - 8 I think this is just milk + spirulina (don't think there's actually matcha in here, but maybe there was so little of it that I couldn't tell). Either way, it was disappointing. It tasted like blue-colored whole milk with a slight "sea umami" flavor from the spirulina. Definitely not worth how much I paid for in terms of quality and quantity.

They have a solid collection of sneakers and usually carry Jordan releases (definitely check ahead for drop dates). I was debating on what to grab, and the staff gave me great recommendations. I actually came back on a different day for a sneaker drop no regrets at all. So happy I found this gem. :) And the funny part? When someone asks where I got my shoes from and I say "Somewhere," it sounds like I'm gatekeeping but I'm literally telling the truth. Genius branding if you ask me. lol Since I was already there, I had to try one of their seasonal matcha drinks: CARAMEL BUTTER MATCHA - $8.50 I ordered it with oat milk. The blend was smooth and well-balanced. I personally would've loved it just a tad sweeter, but honestly, no complaints. It was still really good. The staff? Super helpful, friendly, and just a whole vibe. The energy in there is welcoming and cool without being overwhelming. They also sell merch, which feels very intentional and on-brand not just random pieces thrown in. Speaking of branding, I LOVE the name and the decor. It's clean, spacious, and aesthetically pleasing. And that blue bag? So fire. Definitely giving Nipsey blue vibes This is one of those spots I'll be back to whether it's for a sneaker drop or a matcha fix.

I think what happens is that I mindlessly walk through here as I use it as a passageway. I need to start paying attention to what is in here and keep note of it. Basically this is a mall. Like every mall just about everywhere, they are without some businesses. But, I will say this about the DMV area, even with some shops being empty, the malls still know how to draw people in. Even if it is just for the food options. This place has a ton of food options and some of the places in here are the only place in DC to find them, or at least a place where it is fairly easy to get to in order to visit the business. They got the run of the chains you would see in almost any food court. Charleys, Five Guys, Jamba Juice, Moe's, Panda Express, Starbucks, Subway, etc. But there are a lot of mom and pop stands mixed in. You can definitely find something for your lunch or a quick snack. This is one of the only places I have seen a Church's Chicken in the city. It can be a maze walking through here, especially if you arrive via Metro. But like I said, it is a great passageway to get yourself to areas without having to be outside. With the Spy Museum on the one end it's a great place to spend a day in the city. The Wharf not too far either. There are a few shops throughout as well. Mostly open during daylight hours if you need to grab a thing or two. Everything from a post office to a convenience type store. If you are lucky enough to work nearby, I am sure this is busy around the lunchtime hour.

If you're staying at the Hilton, there's a direct connection to it from the hotel. So this place is helpful because it has several fast food options. Nothing to rave about, but when you're traveling access to quick, fast food is important. Many food places either seemed always closed when I went a few times or open at inconsistent times. The place also never seems busy. Kinda ghost town-ish. Panda Express seemed to be the main attraction here. All together tho, it was clean. I think the space has potential to be a more useful shopping space for people.

We were shopping for outfits for our son's graduation, which should have been a positive and memorable occasion. Instead, I was subjected to unprofessional, confrontational, and ultimately abusive behavior by a fitting room associate. Upon approaching the fitting room, I followed the associate's directions regarding where to place my cart, although her instructions were inconsistent and unclear. Inside the dressing room, I found a shirt that had been left behind by a previous customer. After trying on approximately seven items, I returned them to hangers and exited the fitting room. At that point, the associate demanded that I remove and hang the shirt that I had not brought into the dressing room. I explained that it was not mine. She became visibly frustrated, entered the room herself, and then shifted her focus to insisting that I return all of my items to the exact locations on the sales floor where I had found them. I placed the clothing neatly on the rack provided near the fitting room, which is standard practice in most retail stores. I declined to return the items to the sales floor, as that is typically handled by store staff to ensure proper organization. The situation escalated significantly when the associate followed me out of the fitting area and toward the front of the store, continuing to confront me. She then called me a "horrible human being" and used an additional demeaning term toward me. Racially motivated ! Being followed and verbally insulted while exiting the store was both shocking and unacceptable. I think she forgot what her job actually was and that was too curate the clothing, and to rehang them up she had the nerve to continue following me and would have exited the store to follow me. Had someone else stopped her I am a 50-year-old customer who has shopped in retail stores my entire life, and I have never experienced anything remotely like this.
