I am so relax! Do you know why? Because I went to my favorite place Primp and Polish on Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint. The beautiful and very kind manager Alena greats me with a smile. She makes me feel like a celebrity during my time of relaxation in the spa every time.. She shows her high management skills in dealing with clients and co-workers, and she does it with a good energy. Everyone there is so nice! Particularly I love to be treated by Lisa! She is the Queen of pedicure, manicure and back massage! I am very happy that we have reliable service in my neighborhood. This place is extraordinary! I recommend to any one who would like to be pampered by professionals. Kindly, read more

Primp & Polish - Chiew is awesome! Beautiful ombré sparkle on pink gel polish! LOVE!!! - Day Spas Near Me - Greenpoint, New York

Great manicure and pedicure place. Service is great for the most part and they are always on time. Highly recommended

Very relaxing vibe when you first come in, customer service was great. I had an appointment and came in earlier and was still taken quickly. I got a pedicure and a 10 minute back massage and it was the most relaxing and best decision i've ever made! I love it here and will definitely come back my experience was great and i love my toes!! read more

I got a pedicure here the other week and it was in the top 5 worst pedicures I've had. The place itself is aesthetically pleasing, but the hip things like rubbing lime on the top of my foot isn't worth over $30. Two stars because it was a clean place and they accommodated a walk in without a wait. The technician asked me if I wanted my nails cut and I told her yes and that I liked a round shape. I ended up with 10 unique toenails. I had nails where one side was curved and the other flat, different lengths, and some nails she didn't paint the edge. It was horrible. I did my own nails the next day. Use a credit card they do not let you add a tip, but encourage you to use their ATM machine. Its a shame this company creates minor inconveniences for customers to tip their technicians. read more

The quality of pedicure and manicure excellent. The level of service doesn't match price because the front desk staff is subpar. The management's (front desk) conduct should match high price to level of service all around because it affects the experience. Front desk was not clear about pricing and specials so wound up paying higher than I should have. If I had known up front, which I asked and receive a yes from, I could've scheduled my appt for another day and would have had a more pleasant experience. 2) Additionally, I left my bag there and the front desk staff didn't bother calling me to inform me they've found it even though they had my contact info. Star deductions 1) not clear about specials so I was misinformed into purchasing earlier than I should have and paid a higher price. When I specifically asked about prices and specials was told I was eligible given and appointment and at the time of check out didn't have the discounted price reflected. Front Desks fault. Staff performing service stated she was the manager so I blame management for their lack of clarity. 2) found my bag and didn't bother calling me to let me know it was there. Not high end enough for me due to this act. read more

Horrible customer service at the green point location. I had an appointment today and I was running late due to train delays Coming from the city. I did call and let them know that I was running late. They said that ok then we I got there they said that they cancelled my appointment I was furious the should tell me before I did my trip all the way from the city there. Many times I was early and had to wait for them to see me. They lost my business . I will never be back to that place. super rude at the front desk. read more

We were there for my friends wedding nails. They were extremely rude and we were all rushed because they were closing soon. They are expensive as it is already and none of us were relaxed getting our nails done. I'm not happy with my nails right now because it doesn't match my bridesmaid dress well. They also did all of our nails very quickly so they could leave on time. I would never go back there. They will give you an attitude about every single thing that you want to change or alter. As a business, they really need to work on their customer service since the market is very competitive. Not worth the money. Stay away. read more

Such a great salon! Sharon was amazing! Very professional! She knew immediately what I wanted! Thank you Sharon! read more

Primp & Polish - By Sharon - Day Spas Near Me - Greenpoint, New York

Had to stop coming here after it became clear following multiple incidents that they do not respect people's time nor care about keeping their business. BE WARNED: they might tell you you have an appointment but they will usually not honor it. read more

I have been going to Primp and Polish Greenpoint forever thanks to Chiew, but I have to share that front desk reception isn't always receptive. I called earlier this week to book an appointment for this evening with Chiew. Apparently I was speaking to a trainee who booked me for 3/1 instead of 2/1. The receptionist present when I arrived for my appointment made no effort to speak to Chiew to see if she can fit me in, because I have a gala to go to on 2/2 and unfortunately have other beauty appointments that day. It's just disappointing that as a loyal customer they weren't service-forward - for me at least. If it weren't for Chiew, I would NOT be returning. read more

Always good service, just make an appointment ! Friendly staff, good clean, ambiance, and equipment. Will definitely be back!

I went here for a pedicure and I paid $42 for it, which is way too much for the quality of pedicure that I got. On the outside, the color was neat and looked ok, but I couldn't look as close as I needed I side the salon. So when I got home and out on my glasses and looked closer, the stuff that appears under the nail and on the sides wasn't removed. I removed it all myself when I saw it was there. I have gotten my nails done in less fancy and sometimes low quality looking places and the end result was a lot better than here. I have even given myself a better pedicure but was hoping for a long needed corona toenail clean up. Disappointed. I'm giving this place 1 star because it's nice inside and the area where you go for pedicures has these stringy curtains so it gives you a sense of being closed off from everyone else in the area. I would definitely go somewhere else. read more

So happy that Primp and Polish opened this great new location in my neighborhood! They have gel polish colors for days, the space is gorgeous and spotless, prices are reasonable, and the nail techs know what they're doing. All of their locations are great, but the Greenpoint one is my new favorite! This is definitely the best option for a manicure in the neighborhood. read more

I wish they had a location in Jacksonville! Excellent service, great nail art, AMAZING selection of colors, and great atmosphere. They even have good wine which made it extra relaxing. The pedicure massage chairs are the most comfortable I've ever sat in. Bravo! read more

Went today for a pedicure for the first time. A basic pedi for $25 is a bit more than I am used to paying but since it's so close to home figured I'd give it a try. The salon reminds me of a new construction apartment- white subway tile everywhere, gray faux-wood floors and big windows. It felt very clean and airy. I was immediately greeted, offered water and sent over to the enormous wall of polishes to pick out a color. The technician did a really good job- and included nice extras such as a quick hot stone massage on my legs and feet and squeezed fresh lemon juice all over my feet. Not sure what lemon juice is supposed to help with, but who wouldn't like that? I'll be back! read more

I went to this place because of the refinery29 list and how it looked. Opted for this location over Bedford which I wanted to go to, because of the complaints of customer service. This place was good in that department. I was put in the pedi area and left for a while, to make up for it they gave me a sample of the scrub they use which was pretty nice. I got hard gel tips, I am very particular with shaping of nails and I showed the nail tech a picture and she said it was easy. But the outcome my nails looked different from the picture shape wise, I don't like them. Overall this place is cool, except for the shape of my nails only complaint. read more

There is no other mani/pedi like those from Primp and Polish (and specifically from Chiew!!!) And I've been getting my nails done for eva. Nothing compares. Ultimate treatment, lovely environment, skilled technicians, and a huge selection of colors by every brand imaginable, all for the same price as other salons with far fewer perks.. My favorite technician is Chiew, by far and away I think she does the best job on my gel manicures (I used to see her at the Grand St. location, but she's in Greenpoint now, so to Greenpoint I go!) My nails always look flawless after I see her, and last the full 2 weeks! read more

Visited my daughter this weekend and we did a mani/pedi morning on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014. The salon is very clean, sleek, friendly with a great color selection. Eva did my nails and they were pure perfection. She was delightful as was Ellen who did an incredible job on my daughter's nails. When I'm I return to visit my daughter - this will be our "go to" nail salon. read more

This place is great ! The pedicure massage is amazing ! The quality of the mani/pedi is fantastic!! Chiew did a great job ,from the massage to nail shape and paint job. So glad it's close to my apartment . Will be going back to the salon and chiew again soon !!! read more

Primp & Polish is probably the best nail salon I have ever been to. The staff was super friendly and they did an AMAZING job on my nails. The only issue I had is I could not make a color decision due to the ridiculously large amount of color options! I will definitely visit this salon when I am in NY. read more

Beautiful space, really great technicians, totally reasonable prices!

This place is really the most amazing! I've tried to get other nail work done on any of the other salons in manhattan ave, and I'm always mad I didn't go to primp and polish. They're clean, they're nice, and they do a really really awesome job. It is more expensive than most places, but you honestly get what you pay for! It's more like a spa experience than a cheap nail salon. Always the best :) read more

Chiew is the best. She always does awesome gel manicures for me with whatever weird designs/ideas I have. I haven't been in recently because my nails are, uh, a little ravaged from getting gel manicures for 6 months straight, but when they're back in business I will absolutely be seeing her again. read more

I AM SO GRATEFUL that an amazing nail salon has opened up in Greenpoint. I haven't been able to find one since moving here a few months ago. They're amazing, it's clean, there's wifi (lol) and I went in with an emergency...I had peeled all of my acrylics off and within a half hour Lisa made my nails beautiful again with just regular polish. Make sure to ask for Lisa. She's a godsend - My manicures last for two weeks when she does them. Oh, unfortunately they don't have waxing yet, which doesn't matter for me but figured I would give you all a heads up if you're into that sort of thing. read more

I love this location (mostly because it is slow) and most days, I can just run in without having an appointment. My favorite nail technician is Chiew. She's sweet and really good at what she does but she is off twice a week so you'd have to call to see her availability. It's new and very clean - they recently started giving their customers tea and what not. They have their tools in sanitary pouches and everything is pretty clean! I love the massage chairs (make sure it works before you start - it's the worst when it doesn't work). I think what makes this place work is their clean, simple, modern, sleek design of Primp and Polish. Def my go to place. Their prices are a bit high but I guess it's pretty standard - mehr. I won't think about the price and all is well with the world HA! read more

I have been to 3 different Primp & Polish locations. This one is the best to me. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. I get the best service here. Never leave here disappointed. It's a little pricey compared to other nail salons but you get what you pay for. Clean and beautiful nail salon with great service. read more

This is the second worst pedi I have ever gotten. The worst was also from this location but apparently I haven't learned. Dang-it for convenience and cleanliness! The girl couldn't have tried less, let alone have cared less about what she was doing. She did an awful job, period. The last time I was here the woman was awesome and sweet. Time before that...the worst. For $32 there has to be some consistency! read more

This was the best pedicure I've ever had. Hot stones, sugar scrub, amazing facilities. My gel manicure looks flawless. Rupa was so awesome and brought me some green tea between pedi and mani. I highly recommend this clean and modern salon! read more

The only nail salon I go to. It's clean and modern and has a great selection of colors, including some high-end brands like Louboutin. Love the quiet, relaxing atmosphere. read more

They do a reasonable enough job most of the time, they have a good selection of polishes, but twice I've had my nails filed crooked, and I think it lacks the customer skills that makes you feel like you are getting a full spa experience, feels like you are being rushed out. read more

Super clean and the massage chairs are amazing.

Having been to the Grand, Bedford and Driggs location I can safely say this is the stand alone best!! I go regularly and have always had a great experience here. It's clean, big and airy and all the staff are lovely. read more

I've been to this location in the past and have had a somewhat positive experience, however just this past weekend, I returned for a manicure and left with four of my fingers bleeding due to the technician digging into my cuticles unnecessarily. They still hurt 3 days later. I will not be returning. read more

I have been going to this place since it opened, every other week. I was almost always 100% happy with the service until today. I called because I was was stuck in traffic that I will be few minutes late. The woman who answered my call told me I only have 5 minutes after my appointment time to get the services I wanted. I got there exactly 6 minutes after my appointment time. The woman at the front desk named Amber (same woman I spoke to on the phone) told me me I have to decide what I want to do now since I am more than 5 minutes late. I told her it's only one minute why can't I get the service that I originally scheduled an appoitment for. Instead of having the nail technician start on my services she insisted I decide what service I want to decline on. She took her time to argue with me and get her way instead of accommodating my needs. They just lost a good customer because of unprofessional front desk service. read more

Tiffany did a great job on my nails and even redid my thumb to make it perfect. Thank you! I will be back.

I had the basic manicure. For the $22 price tag, I expect a base coat, and was not given one. My cuticles were cut, one was left bleeding, I do have sensitive nails. My technician did not notice the cut and kept on polishing until I brought it up. All I got was a quick blow and wipe on the nail and that's it. Sure the place is beautiful and workers are nice, but the final product is less than average for the price. read more

I gave this place three stars because of the customer service. You have to make an appointment which I like because it guarantees that I am not just sitting and waiting and I can also request who you would like to do your nails. Appointments can be made over a week in advance which I didn't always like. I've patronize this place along with other Primp and Polish businesses but this one I frequent often. My go to lady was Sharon. She does neat work but I felt she really didn't listen or take her time the more I went to her. I often experienced my nails lifting on the side. When I'd bring it to her attention, I was answered with a curt "I don't know". It may have been because of a language barrier. Though she fixed the issue, my nails would end up lifting in 2-3 days which became very annoying because I was spending my money to have my nails (gel builder) last and they weren't. When bought to the attention of the Tech, I felt she would get annoyed (which frustrated me more since I was spending my money). But that's not my main issue for giving them a 3 (which is generous). I'm giving them a 3 because my last 3x going to the shop the young lady at the front (didn't get her name but she had blonde (very white blonde, almost grey colored looking hair) followed and watched every move I made while I was there until I got called to get my nails done. I even witnessed her moving her position at the desk to watch if I was going to steal the multiple nail polishes I had next to me trying on. I was aware of her watching me because I could FEEL it and SEE it. Each time I went and she was receptionist at the desk I was treated this way.... every nail polish color I touched and tried on seemed to be killing her. I became frustrated at my last visit and before I went to get my nails done, I made sure to take every nail polish I took off the shelf and place them ALL in front of her. I made sure to say to her, "I don't want you to think I am taking them (the nail polishes)." She gave me a nervous smirk because she was well aware of what she was doing. As a black woman, I will not be going to another Primp and Polish because their service when dealing me as a black woman made me feel uncomfortable. The many times I patronized them, I wasn't offered water as others who walked in after me always were. I work hard for my money and I will not spend it in a place that makes me feel less than or my money isn't the same as anyone else paying for their services. read more

Just had a horrible gel manicure at another place. Came in here knowing that they would help me out and they went above and beyond! I had Chiew and she was AMAZING! Poor woman had to clean up my horrible manicure, so bad that even after soaking for 30 mins the gel didn't come off at all. Chiew was patient and persisted, she worked so hard and was so meticulous. Can you believe that I had a manicure 2 days ago and she still removed a lot of cuticle? This place is the best. Definitely my official go-to nail place! Thank you! read more

I usually go to the other location on Grand Avenue but was going to be in this area so I booked an appointment for a standard manicure and pedicure. Pedicure felt rushed, not what I am accustomed to at the other location. Girl at front desk seemed like she didn't really care about customers. read more
