I've been to Primos twice and the food has been delicious each time! My first time was during dinner time with a friend and I just knew I had to come back. My second visit was when I took my mom for a Mother's Day Brunch and we both loved it as well. She is even planning on making another visit with her girlfriends as they are always looking for new brunch spots. The hostess and waitresses were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. I just love the vibe at Primos! If only I lived closer to the area, I would easily be a usual at Primos! But for now, I look forward to my next visit. Hopefully I can find some time soon as I am craving the calamari and ravioli! read more

Food: love that the menu is simple and straight to the point. Almost wanted to try multiple food item but went with the Prawn Linguine and husband went with the roasted chicken. Price is decent for the quality of food. Pasta is made fresh! We also tried the Burrata appetizer, bread was delicious, and flavor was there. Mushrooms - not a fan. The in-house made tagliatelle was loaded with them and in a lemon cream sauce. Not sure what kind of magic they used in that sauce because those pinche mushrooms didn't stand a chance - they, and the entire dish we're pretty phenomenal: rich and creamy sauce, tender, lemony shrooms, and perfect tagliatelle. Also had thei spicy salami pizza. I don't know where to start as it was friggin stupid delicious, a work of art really. To start, it's easily one of the best crusts I've had hands down: crunchy yet soft - I was amazed as i couldn't figure out how they did that without a wood oven. The crust had a great flavor too. Now for their toppings: spicy salami, hot honey, caramelized onion puree and ricotta. Man, this was such a great and unforgettable pizza. Want a pizza you'll always remember, get this one! Garlic knots - such a incredibly, tasty starter. Subtle garlic flavor on that butter bread, man, what a treat. And their marinara sauce was so good. We downed all this with a bottle of wine. We didn't fonish the bottle vefore our meal so we went inside to the bar and finished it there. We discovered they made carajillo and had one of those AND ordered tiramisu so the carajillo wouldn't be lonely. Both were pretty fantastic. The staff was super helpful and polite. Nice place. Staff was very nice. Indoor outdoor seating. Upscale vibe. Also had a brunch vibe. Ordered the bolognese. It was a miss. I've been to tre trattoria many times for their bolognese and Primos doesn't even come close. Not to mention it's 1-2 dollars more expensive. It tastes like the spaghetti and meat sauce I make at the house for under 10 bucks and feeds the whole family. Would recommend this place for the vibe. But not the bolognese unfortunately. read more

Came here for a birthday dinner for a friend and had a great night. We got the garlic rolls, mussels, burrata, and 3 different pizzas - pepperoni, margherita, and spicy salami. The garlic rolls are amazing. We had to keep ordering more and more for the table. The mussels were delicious and the soup they were in was even better. The burrata was okay in my opinion, but the bread that came with it was sooooo good. All of the pizzas were great. My favorite was the margherita. Our server kept our waters full and checked on us, but the wait was about 30 minutes for the pizzas, which sucked a little. We were seated outside, which was pretty cold. I think if they added heating elements outside it would have made it more enjoyable. All in all, we still had a great time and the food was great. I would come back here. read more

Been eyeing Primo's for lunch for a while and finally got to try it out. There's no dedicated parking spots for Primo's so you'll have to park on the street. Keep that in mind if visiting during busy weekends. We came Wednesday around 1pm and it was not busy. Service was friendly and quick. They don't have fountain drinks , just cans and bottles. They have a lunch special which includes a 12" pizza with a salad. Both were huge- I was shocked at the size of both. Salad was good, pizza was good. Ok flavor- not the best pizza ever but still good. Wish I had gotten one of their pasta dishes instead but next time for sure. The restaurant is small but quaint. I have been wanting to try this place out for a while now. We went in a group of four girls. We enjoyed brunch on a Sunday. It wasn't busy, but they do take reservations. We shared all of our food. I started off with their limoncello Margarita. It was citrusy and refreshing. We shared the calamari and the burrata. The calamari was seasoned well. It comes with a garlic aïoli. The burrata was delicious. We all loved it. It came with tomatoes, Peruvian, teardrops, and salami. The bread that it came with was delicious. For our meal, we shared the margarita pizza, the Parmesan chicken sandwich, the Primo's breakfast and the lemon ricotta pancakes. The Margarita pizza had a thin crust and was cheesy and tasty. The Primo's breakfast was excellent with sausage, eggs made your way in breakfast potatoes. Everyone thought the chicken Parmesan sandwich was the best. The mozzarella was gooey and it had enough marinara, but not too much to make it soggy. The lemon ricotta pancakes were a hit. We ate them as our dessert. They came with blueberries. No syrup needed for these pancakes. We were celebrating Galentine so we ended up staying to share a bottle of Prosecco after our lunch. With the wait, we ordered some alcoholic beverages. The restaurant seemed like it was lacking coordination in service. Once seated, I ordered the calamari that came with fried olives and onions. Very delicious! For mains, I ordered the scallops tagliatelle and my husband got the pork porterhouse. Tagliatelle was on point with the texture, but flavors were pretty mundane. The service and ambiance really made it that much more enjoyable. Caleb was so attentive and kind, I would highly recommend getting seated with him! We started with some cocktails (limoncello margarita) and some apps (arancini & focaccia). Both were delicious and pretty good portions. For our entrees, we had the scallop tagliatelle, porterhouse, and supreme pizza. All 3 were fantastic and again, pretty generous portions. We went to Primos last night and really enjoyed it. The calamari, mixed with peppers and onions, was excellent. The arancini had great flavor, though they were unfortunately lukewarm, almost cold, in the center. We got the sausage pasta, which was decent, but he wasn't a fan of the broccoli rabe in the dish. Now the pizza: easily the best we've had in San Antonio. Everything about it was spot on. The brown sugar cake was absolutely incredible, and the drinks were delicious. We decided to try out this new restaurant that we saw on social media. It was great! We booked last minute reservations and were sat outside, they had fans going so it was bearable, but I would recommend trying to sit inside, if possible (the restaurant is on the smaller side, so I can see it filling up very quickly). Our server was very attentive and had great recommendations for us. Their drink menu was a fun twist on classic cocktails, I got the aperol spritz like drink and it was sweet and yummy. We started off with the meatballs and calamari as an appetizer. The sauce on the meatballs was great, I wish I could have had bread to accompany it (one downfall, no free bread like most Italian restaurants offer). The calamari was served and thick pieces, so the breading to calamari ratio was great, not too much breading per bite. For our main entrees, we split the cheese ravioli and a pizza. The cheese ravioli filling was superb,and the sauce had a semi sweet taste to it, definitely not like a normal cheese ravioli you would expect. The pizza was a little above average, nothing spectacular but better than your common takeout pizza. Another call out is that it is in the pricier side for Italian. However, I would definitely recommend coming here as it was a great experience! We'll be back soon to try out some of the brunch menu items! read more

Met up for lunch on a Tuesday. Just two of us. Girlfriend and I. She made a reservation for 11:30 AM. Walked in and was the only one in the restaurant. The host and server Caleb was extremely personable and attentive to us. When she arrived, we decided to sit out outside as it was not a scorcher that day, but still warm. He turned on the fans for us. We ordered a shareable appetizer; the focaccia. It consisted of whipped ricotta cheese, a honey drizzle, capicola, olives, and sweety drop peppers. It was delicious, especially if you are an olive lover. And by olive lover, I mean green and black. Especially green. They like their green olives here and they are salty and delicious paired with the sweetness. The bread was outstanding. It was crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. Unfortunately once we started eating in came the flies. They were so annoying. Caleb saw us constantly swatting them away and was kind enough to bring us one of the mechanical fly swatting machines. Unfortunately, it did not keep them at bay and when it was time for us to receive our entrées, we changed it up on him once again and returned inside. As we were dining, patrons started to come in and fill up the restaurant but for the longest time, it was only the two of us. We each ordered an Arnold Palmer as our beverage and we each ordered our own pizza. She ordered the Gustoso (mushroom, red onions, roasted garlic, arugula and ricotta). I ordered the Big Boy (spicy capicola sausage, green olives, and mozzarella). Again, Delicioso. If you are not not an olive fan, ask for the pizza without them or give it a go. The size of these pizzas are definitely shareable and she and I each decided to get our own so that we would have plenty of leftovers to take home. We were offered dessert but declined as we were full, but I would definitely return here for an evening meal as well as return for a nice lunch again. The restaurant is really nice and clean, the food overall was okay. It needed salt. The service was not great, our server was extremely pushy and not very hospitable. The restaurant was less than a 1/4th full, it was 2+ hours before close and our server came to the table every 2 minutes to ask us if we were ready to order. After we ate, he refused to split the check and said he could only use two cards to pay. We were a table of 6, everyone only got one cocktail and an entree. As somome who works in hospitality, It would have been incredibly easy to split. When we asked to split it very politely, he said " Not my problem, y'all figure it out and tell me when you're ready". First time customer. Ordered two pizzas for pick up. Created an online account and was directed to pay via PayPal. Saw no option for tip. Show up to get order at 7:15pm on Tuesday, 5/19. I notice there's maybe ten people In the whole place; it's not busy. Host asks if I'm there for a pick up order. I say yes and he walks over to the bar. While looking down at my order that's resting on the bar, and without making any indication that he's referring to me, the host waves me over without saying a word like I'm a dog or like I'm an idiot and then says "did you close this order". Truly trying to be belittling. I said all I did was order online and I didn't see an option for a tip. The bartender nearby chimes in "he didn't leave a tip". So I say "I'll try to fix that". Bartender walks off, the host walks off, so I'm just standing there. I don't get so much as a "well if you'd like to leave a tip another way" or a "thank you for coming", or a "oh well, don't worry about". I got nothing. Nobody talks. So after a few seconds, I say loud enough to the host who is now at least 15 feet away with his back to me (and the bartender who is 10 feet away seemingly ignoring me) "can I leave a cash tip". The host says "yeah", so I put these stupid guilt-filled pizzas down, pull out my wallet, put a fiver on the counter, and immediately the bartender beelines to it, grabs it, says "thanks" without making eye contact and walks off like I'm an asshole. Fuck this place. Pizza is a 6/10. Go to il Forno. Go to Little Italy. Go to Leo's Hideout. Hell, go down to pizza classics and at least be talked to like you're a human being. read more
