A quick lunch down the hill from the Capitol, Primo's is pizza and subs. Buried in the middle of a residential neighborhood, this is one of those places that you wouldn't find if you didn't know it was here. Thanks, Yelp! I popped in for lunch and chose the large meatball sub. It was ready in a jiffy and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Somehow, I managed not to wear any of it which is always a plus. Primos is a little pizza/sub shop in the heart of Beacon Hill. If you live or work near by just walk over. As far as pizza shops go, it's a home run! We eat at Primos every week for that past few months. We have literally no complaints. We have had subs, pizza, salads (Greek with steak or white is awesome), pasta dinners , etc. Just keep in mind, it is Beacon Hill, so it's really not a place you drive to because there is no where to park. Used to go to school in the area and frequent this place specifically for their steak tips, so was looking forward to getting food from Primos. I ordered steak tips, a fish sandwich, a cheeseburger, & a gyro sandwich for my family. Quality definitely went down and even my wife who has very low expectations when it comes to food, disliked her fish sandwich. it has been exactly over a year since I have had lasagna..It was a cold wintery Saturday afternoon and so the weather was perfect for this type of a hearty dish. So I searched both Uber eats and DoorDash for any restaurants that made Lasagna. I stumbled upon Primo's and saw that they had average reviews. I decided to give it shot and here is my review on the 3 most important thing a lasagna needs to have: 1) Lasagna needs to be firm.--I loved the firmness of their Lasagna..It was NOT soft and mushy..It had a nice little bounce and push back on my firm.. 2) Taste-the taste was ruined by the sauce. The red sauce reminded me a bit of Chef Boyardee. Bit on the sweet side hiding a metallic after taste. It need more garlic, basil, herbs to make it pop. After 4 bites I got tired of the sauce and had to take a break from it. Without the red sauce the ricotta filling was delicious. Smooth and creamy/ 3)Look--The lasagna look really nice...The sauce was bright and red...Had nice white streaks of ricotta..Again too bad the red sauce ruined it for me. read more

Primo's is a neighborhood staple, but sometimes it can be hit or miss. My go to is the double cheeseburger dinner, and it is usually ok... either they have a new grill cook or they changed the patty because lately it has tasted better. However, not too long ago there was some confusion with the order it seems. We had ordered the Dbl Cheeseburger dinner and a single pattry cheeseburger, but when the order came both burgers were singles. oops When we order Soda or a packet of Cookies ("Cooki" in the dessert menu) I usually put an extra note in instructions somewhere because too often those "little things" have been forgotten. They also have brownies but they aren't in the online menu. I was a little miffed about a month back when I'd ordered a steak and cheese sub. The sub came with the cold cheese on the cold sub roll and the hot steak on top. That is not how to make a steak and cheese sub properly. Ever since that happened, I write in the instructions that the cheese is to be melted into the steak. I shouldn't have to do that. The Online Menu needs a bit of work, there is at least one sub-menu ( steak and Cheese ) that leads nowhere, the salad dressing list is not the same on all the salad options. There are also several items either in the shop, or in the printed menu, but not in the online menu. The Chicken Tenders, Mozzarella Sticks are decent Sub/Pizza Shop standards. Salads are standard Subshop mostly Iceburg Lettuce style, but the lettuce has been fresh 97% of the time. My BF likes their Vel Parm well enough that is his usual. I'd like to give the place a 4 star review, Its cheap and fast food for the area, but its just not Great cheap and fast. Reasonable prices for pizza in Beacon Hill. When I went, the restaurant was run by two people who didn't speak English at all, so ordering was pretty difficult. Pizza was delicious out of the oven, but the crust did end up scraping up the roof of my mouth after a couple slices. Otherwise, it was really good. I like Primo's Pizza! I just ordered there from the first time for pick up. Ordered online, picked up my yummy hot pizza 15 minutes later. Their pizza is less greasy than Domino's (our typically pizza delivery) and not as fancy as other nearby places (e.g., Figs). But I didn't want greasy or fancy pizza. I just wanted pizza, and fast. I ordered a large supreme pizza - and I got a large supreme! I even requested no olives on the online order form, and voila, no olives. They deliver, though I'm not sure how far away. Give them a try in person (they have seating), for pick up, or for delivery. I noticed when I went in that they had various specials that weren't advertised online - half price pasta, daily specials/discounts, etc. Might be good to call in advance and ask about specials before you order. read more

It's a real share but the pizza is littered with a dry pasty canned tomato sauce. The cheese is of the lowest possible quality, similar to a middle school cafeteria. The dough was floppy and runny, think of a sunny side up egg. Then on to the chicken parm. Each bite was worse than the next. The chicken was soft and processed. The sauce was the same dumpster fire as the pizza. In fact it was the pizza sauce. It had a similar flavor to water. The ziti was a slap in the face to the Italian cuisine. Over cooked and under delivered. And since the sauce was a bland and stale puke fest, the scallopy "noodles" were slimy and smelled of an unattended public restroom. We ordered two small specialty pizzas and a large Greek salad that totaled for about $35 with tip and delivery fee. The Greek salad was your typical but tasty. It was also served with pita bread. The veggie pizza was delicious: broccoli, onions, olives, peppers, and tons of flavor. The eggplant pizza had fried eggplant slices with cheese and sauce. We ordered online, it was so easy and we picked up hot pizza in 15 min. We had a buffalo chicken pizza, mushroom pizza, and cheese pizza. My favorite was the buffalo chicken but really all of them were good. The buffalo chicken was like cut up tenders on the pizza with buffalo sauce under the cheese. So it was easy to eat, not messy at all and had good flavor - all the makings of an A+ buffalo chicken pizza. We also got blue cheese on the side which was notably good. I consider myself to be a blue cheese snob and this one passed my high standards with flying colors. The left over pizza reheated well the next day as well. Primo's serves up an awesome, no-frills slice that's still a step up from Domino's. I tried a cheese slice, and honestly, no toppings could have made it better. The cheese was stretchy, the tomato sauce was fresh, but the crust was the real star: crisp, flaky, and not the least bit greasy. If you want an extra kick, pairing with some Frank's hot sauce really takes it to the next level. I went to Suffolk right around the corner, and my friends have all lived in a 300' radius of the place, so I am quite familiar with this place. It's been there for me through thick and thin, heat waves, water restrictions and bitter snow storms. It's been my right hand man/woman/thing while conquering countless theses and Law Briefs. I love Primo's. Go for their Curley Fries. Perfectly fried, perfectly seasoned, it will never let you down. Their pasta is pretty great as well, and the burger bun turned garlic bread is just so damn delicious. I've heard the pizza is good, and the subs are bomb. Do yourself a favor and go there. The people that work there are also super nice! They didn't even complain when we had a burger, fries and a pizza delivered about 1.5 blocks away in a snowstorm! If you go to, or work at Suffolk University, like I do, you're going to know about Primos. Okay, it's not the best food in the world. It's not even the best food on the block, but it is super cheap and consistent. You always leave the place with a full tummy, albeit a heavy one. The pizza is fine, subs are good and cheap, but my favorites are the chicken fingers and wing dings, and the steak tip salad. The steak tips are always good and gooey and the salad is always fresh and cool. If you need cheap eats, you might as well stop in. It's at the tippy-top of Beacon Hill and yet, it's really cheap! Also: Delivers and doesn't have a minimum purchase for using a credit card. All of these things by themselves are pretty rare on the Hill, AND it's right in the middle of the neighborhood! I know I hate having to trek down to Charles St. when I'm hungry and tired on some rainy day... This way I can drag my greasy ass down a couple of back streets and grab my food really quickly, barely being seen on my mission. Now, is it the BEST food ever? No, not really. But it's pretty good... Basically what you'd expect when you walk in the door. I get the chicken parm sub with a side bleu cheese for dipping (I throw some Frank's on it too when I get it home) and it hits the spot. There IS something a little weird about the sauce, but I can overlook it, because they do it right: fried chicken fingers with some melted cheese and red sauce, allllll messy on a sub roll. Yum! A couple of people mentioned the interior. Okay, it's not meant to be a nice fancy sit-down restaurant. It's an Italian fast food place where everything's six bucks, give or take. Being the only cheap, conveniently located food establishment in the middle of Beacon Hill kind of makes these guys a shoe-in for at least three stars, but I'm reluctant to give them any more than that. The reference to BHOP is not solely for entertainment: the food is quick, greasy, and messy, and delicious because of it. They have all the standard subs, grinders, calzones, and other fast-food italian "specialties". I doubt I'll find myself here often, but whenever I feel like tempting fate and a heart attack, this is the first place that comes to mind. read more
