[869] This Primos Hoagie location is located right on Baltimore Pike. Easy to get to and plenty of parking out back. We usually place our order in advance and it's ready when we arrive. Hubby's favorite is the Bada Bing... I stopped ordering sandwiches as the bread is too tough for my taste. Hubby loves it. On my last trip I found out I can still get what I want on a wrap. It was noted in small print so I didn't see it. The next time I visit I will need to try the wrap. Staff is friendly. They could really use a bench (inside or outside) so I don't stand around and wait (when I order on the spot). I'll definitely be back

The food here is good and they have many sandwich options. The customer service is friendly as well. The restaurant is clean although it's small and can get crowded.

Phone purposely left off the hook so they don't have to take orders. Taken while standing at the register not being helped at all.

I would review the food if I actually had a chance to buy it. Driving in, I tried calling multiple times. At first it was endless ringing, then all of a sudden I was getting a busy signal. Thought it was odd, so I just drove there since it was on my way. Walked in and saw that the phone had purposely been left of the hook (picture attached). Stood at the counter for 5 min, no "hi", no "be right with you", no nothing. Had to walk out and go to Nick's down the road.

Yes, I am from the West Coast (Las Vegas, Malibu & San Francisco) but that will not stop me from ranting and raving about Primo Hoagies in adorable Springfield, PA. This is, by far, the best hoagie my lips have ever touched. Now, although I am a West Coast girl, I have spent a good deal of my life in New York, you know, that state that claims they make the best hoagie? And, I will safely say, you cannot get a better hoagie than at Primo Hoagies. Their Sharp Italian hoagie is amazing. Soft Philly roll, shredded turkey, salami, sweet capacola, prosciutto and sharp provolone. With a douse of oil and oregano, this truly was a perfect sandwich. My fellow diners had the Mild Italian, Sicilian and Audie. All three diners are from Springfield and agreed with me that Primo Hoagies currently holds the title for the "Best Hoagie We Have Ever Had." Since that initial hoagie awakening, I make it a point to go to Primo Hoagies every single time I am in Springfield, usually multiple times in a visit. Even my future mother-in-law orders them for parties she throws for us, as she knows how much I crave these hoagies while I eat my tasteless, boring and inferior "sandwiches" back home in San Francisco. :(

After the second time of having to go back up there because they had messed up mine and my moms sandwiches I found lint in the sandwich, balls of lint actually, also The guy who had gave me the new sandwiches was very rude and shoved the bag at me and asked if I had brought the others in which I didn't because I was not told to when my dad had called them his response was whatever with an eye roll. I was also waiting about 20 minutes outside in the heat for two small sandwiches. WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. and when my mom went back to go get her refund the boy REFUSED TO GIVE IT TO HER called her a bitch and then told her to never come back to the establishment again.

When I first stopped in here it was in a whim, and although they do have a selection of whimsical, sweet, dare I say, ridiculous and sweet coffee beverages, they were able to make me a traditional Italian macchiato. I had been unable to find a good, even passable REAL macchiato anywhere, and they delivered in spectacular fashion. Not only was the drink silky, strong, and small, it was made with outstanding Italian roasted espresso that has a different character than the standard, heavier-roasted American palate has come to be used to. This alone would have been enough for me to return time and time again when I was in the area, but after getting breakfast sandwich on a whim, this instantly became a weekly stop; more than that, a destination. Fast forward a few years and the initial attraction of coffee, sandwich, and friendly staff has transformed into a beautiful relationship where I can easily walk in, everyone knows me before I am all the way through the door, and even knowing my idiosyncrasies, are still excited to see me and listen to me prattle on about whatever might be the story of the day. The time spent here has given me the opportunity to try nearly everything on the menu and try every drink available. Including all the dry goods, pasta for sale, frozen trays of delicious Italian staples, and more. I am not one to just stick to the things I know I enjoy as I am always on a journey for something interesting and exciting, so whenever something shows up I am getting that rather than something in my "comfort zone". This has led to me traditionally losing interest or finding that the quality of a place declines for myself over time, especially multiple years. Not the case here at Napoletano, it has only done the exact opposite and gotten much more rewarding and somehow even more delicious and embracing of people and everyone who comes through the door. This brings me to my most recent food adventures into the menu here, the newest additions for the most part, the added amazing hoagie list. I have had two. The first I tried was the Gondolier, which I was enamored with for weeks. I had been there too early to order lunch time and time again, and then FINALLY, one day it was about time for lunch to be available and Michelle, the wonderful woman running the front of house and so much more, was able to get me this sandwich just a bit early. It had it all....outstanding bread, roasted red peppers, seriously premium meats, both standard deli and cured. However, something just missed the mark for me. I couldn't believe it. I don't know what and I don't know why. I was immediately disappointed, likely because I had hyped this up in my head for so long and I have come to expect so much from Napoletano, I simply couldn't believe that this wasn't the best hoagie I had ever enjoyed. That fact has eaten at me for at least a month now, but today that all changed, and is possibly why I finally found my voice to put all my thoughts together an write this after so many years. During my visit to say hello today, I realized it was once again right around the time where I could order sandwiches. I toyed with the thought of the cutlet sandwiches or even the Cuban which is amazing, but after going around and around and around talking to everyone working about this and that, I finally decided on another hoagie; the Sicilian. Kris, another of my favorite people along with Fanny (who was on vacation) helped me inch toward this one based on my description of my whole previous experience, and tbh is sandwich is so interestingly unique. Topped with lemon and orange zest, it doesn't sound like it would work, but once you take your first bite, you begin to examine your entire existence. Why have you never had a specialty Italian hoagie topped with citrus zest??? The question has been running through my head all day since lunch, and I still cannot understand why I haven't been enjoying something like this my entire life. So many years lost of amazing sandwich experiences.....this sandwich was so divine, despite looking slightly barren and strange, that it blew apart my entire disappointment I had been holding since the gondolier. I will absolutely try the other four in the list. I would have anyway, but this definitely took that mission off of life support and put it front and center. There are so many reasons to go to Napoletano. I could spend another thirty paragraphs writing about what is great about this place, the people, the drinks, the space, all of it. But instead of doing that, you should just go here. Even if you're not close, and enjoy!

I ordered the Satchmo, a buffalo chicken, Italian hoagie, ham hoagie, 4 chicken tenders and fries which came to a grand total of $85. Phew. This was my first time here, but I've heard the food and cheese steaks were great so I was ok with things at this point. I placed my order for pickup and was told it would be 20 minutes. I came in around the 20ish minute mark and waited for 25 more minutes. There was only 1 other person waiting with me. I did see 3-4 other people come in pickup and leave while I waited, but it wasn't busy by standards. While waiting is when I when I observed how unorganized and dis shoveled the staff were. The lady upfront was kind, attentive, and seemed to be running the show putting orders together. But, when she asked for help she didn't get any. She asked another staff member to help bag a specific sandwich for an order, several times, and it went in the guys ear and right out the other. I could also hear them scrambling in the back working on my order, and complaining about how many Italian hoagie orders came in right at the same time. Maybe they were behind, maybe they accidentally let mine go with a different order? This is all speculation but they were definitely overwhelmed and it shouldn't have taken that long for my order. The cheese steaks were good, and the Italian hoagie was very hearty! They do not skimp on meat, but the hoagie bread was so hard most of it was thrown away. I don't care for shredded gums. Overall, not a good first time experience. Minus a star for the price, minus a star for the delayed pickup time, and minus 1/2 for the rock hard Italian hoagie bread. The steaks were good but everything else outweighed the food quality.
