Don't usually do eat in I do take out... I will say the subs need salt! There is no option for salt on the order form, I stand corrected you can find the option for salt way down under the add on section then hit spices down there! The order form is the same everywhere so must be a corporate thing... Why isn't it with the spices at the top with black pepper and oregano‍ but I digress... totally worth trying a sub here just ask for salt... the full pickles are a winner too! read more

There are a ton of other sandwiches on the menu but the Chicken Diablo is easily the star of the show -- primo hoagies is just like any other sub shop except one thing -- somehow they put extra love into their subs with the quality ingredients, great fresh baked bread & the mix of sauces & flavors really sets itself apart and above those other chain sub shops -- if I am saying anything, feels more like a mom & pop deli than anything else (which is an amazing thing). Their service is great -- they spend the right amount of time into each sub so by no means is it a super quick so expect to wait a few minutes for your perfectly crafted sub -- as for ambiance, it's a typical sub shop with a decent dining area with tables for 4 & the typical sides, chips & sodas. Primo Hoagies seem to be opening up all over NJ. This Rockaway location has been open for a couple of years and I've heard great things about it from my stepsons. My wife and I stopped in for a takeout hoagie last night. We ordered the Chicken Suprimo which is made of grilled chicken, mozzarella, roasted red peppers, and served warm. We ordered the middle size, called Primo. The sandwich was huge with lots of delicious chicken! It was definitely large enough for the two of us to split. In NJ, there are so many classic places to get subs so it's more difficult for a chain like Primo to get recognition. That said, I thought the sandwich was great. It's known for being more expensive than some other places and it was. The hoagie cost $16. The quality of the sandwich was very high though (bread was outstanding) and it was a meal for both of us, so I didn't mind paying a little extra. If you've never gone to a Primo's, check it out and see for yourself. This Rockaway store was very good! read more

Primo Hoagies in general has great food but the service is terrible here. I ordered 2 hoagies and both were done incorrectly. They re did them and were still incorrect. It's frustrating to pay $25 and not get the correct order even after redoing it. read more

Ok... so I come in and place an order for two sandwiches at the kiosk. I sit down to eat in the restaurant... only two tables are set up because the employees couldn't be bothered to take the chairs down for the other 4 tables. I watch numerous people come and go while waiting for my sandwiches. When they finally are made... they were both wrong. Neither one had the lettuce, tomato, and mayo I ordered... and my bread was wrong (I ordered unseeded... they gave me seeded).. I only had them remake one.... And they remade it wrong. It's very frustrating writing this, because Primo usually has great sandwich's. It's a shame when they mess up something with my mobile order nearly everytime. I usually ask for the oil and vinegar on the side, as I typically am eating them later. I feel like it is a crap shoot asking for this. It usually either leads to other toppings missing, or doesn't happen and the sandwich is soaked by the time I go to eat it. I've ordered multiple sandwiches before and have had it on one and not the other. It almost feels random as to if they actually look at the order details. I just ordered the "R" as is, and they literally just put meat on bread. The only reason to order this is for the poppers, which were completely missing. It's good that there are other ones close, but would be convenient to be able to pick up a sandwich I order while dropping off or getting the kids from the mall. I'm done with this one for a while at least.... They are bound to get capable employees eventually. read more

Driving past this town and saw a sign for hoagies and I love hoagies so I had to stop. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I had the chicken cheesesteak and was expecting chopped chicken with flavor. that's NOT what I got. It lacked flavor and although filling I just ate it because I paid for it. Ordered the most basic Italian Primo. First, if you don't like seeds (or can't eat them), beware, the bread is heavily seeded. Had to scrape them off. Bread is otherwise nice and crusty. The sandwich itself was lacking, both substance and flavor. One slice of prosciutto! One slice Genoa salami! Some cheese, didn't see the capicola (maybe buried in there?). One slice tomato, hardly any onion, LOTS of shredded lettuce. Supposed to have Mayo and O&V; gobs of Mayo but did not detect O&V, also lacking seasonings. One sandwich (second free w/ BOGO) and a bottle of water over $18.00! Would not be back even WITH a coupon. Two stars are for the friendly staff, fast service and nice atmosphere. Such a shame that the small hoagie is on different bread just like subway sandwich bread and is terrible bread..you have to order a hoagie that's 15 inches long to get the good bread..I know of a dozen office workers and a few dozen construction guys that won't go cause they won't give you the good bread on a small sandwich. that being said. Primo is missing out on the lunch crowd big time and they don't do breakfast. so basically they are only selling to the dinner crowd that is on the way home and can put the other half in the fridge. Excellent sandwiches! The bread is amazing. I had visited this chain when in PA and super happy they are now available in my neighborhood. You must get the seeded bread. I don't know why they don't allow you to get that bread when ordering a small hero but it will not be the same without the seeded bread. The store is immaculate! One of the best experiences I've had a sub shop. The service was extremely fast. The place itself is very clean and everything is kept nicely. Bathrooms clean too, always a plus. The sandwich itself was excellent. Their homemade bread was warm with just the right amount of crunch and chew. I got the chicken cutlet sandwich and I ate the thing in about 3 minutes. So good. The only thing I would say is it's slightly overpriced in my opinion at $13 for a chicken cutlet sandwich but the quality you are getting is top notch. read more
