This location has gone downhill tremendously and Panera corporate is no better. When my husband and I are sick, it's not uncommon that we do several back to back orders of soup/sandwiches and breakfast items here until we are feeling better. We both got sick in February/March and had placed several orders and will not be returning based on our recent order experiences. 1. I placed an online delivery order for a few pastries, soup, and a sandwich. We were shorted a $5+ pastry, which the app would not allow me to report so I had to go the extra long route of filling out an extensive online report, only for corporate customer service to do everything they could to not refund the original payment and instead push gift cards to force us to keep returning. I had to deal with a ridiculous amount of back and forth for the shorted order to be resolved and refunded. 2. We placed an order for a sandwich and two bowls of soup as a pick up order. This will be our last order for the foreseeable future. My husband and I walked to the back counter, the employee working there made eye contact with me, said nothing as I grabbed the bag and left. Once in our car, I checked the order for accuracy to find an entire soup (intended as my dinner) was missing. I looked at the receipt to find they didn't check this item off, and instead scribbled "ask" next to it. It's a good thing I looked. We went back inside to deal with the shorted item only to be met with inattentive employees who didn't want to be bothered to help us. I finally got the attention of the employee who made eye contact with me when I initially grabbed the bag from the counter and mentioned I was shorted and the receipt noted "ask" to which I got an apathetic "uh, yeah we are out of broccoli cheddar soup." He couldn't help us because I didn't want a different soup, so we were directed to someone else up front who refunded the missing item and offered a day old chocolate chip cookie neither of us wanted for the "inconvenience" and then proceeded to tell me I would have to keep an eye on my credit card to make sure it's refunded and if not, I'd have to come back and deal with it again. What kind of service is this and how is this acceptable? This location is too comfortable stealing from customers and profiting off these kinds of repeated "mistakes" hoping customers won't notice. Absolutely will not be returning anytime soon. If you go here, I recommend making sure you audit your order immediately, as this location cannot be trusted to pack everything ordered for to go orders, or be honest and tell the customer when they know something is missing. read more

My wife and I stopped by the Panera Bread in Rockaway, NJ this past February for a little break -- and ended up spending a peaceful two hours in one of the coziest corners of the café. I had the dark roast coffee, and my wife ordered a hot tea, paired with a brownie and a chocolate croissant. Both desserts were fresh and satisfying -- the brownie was rich and fudgy with a soft bite, and the croissant had just the right amount of flaky sweetness and chocolatey warmth. We brought a miniature book nook project to work on, along with our own bright bee-print tablecloth, which instantly made the space feel warm, playful, and uniquely "us." The vibe was perfect. Chill lofi music played in the background, and even as people walked by and took interest in what we were building, we never felt rushed or out of place. Just relaxed and welcome. I usually come to this Panera and enjoy it but I Came here Sunday with a good buddy and didn't enjoy my time, they were busy i understand but we were both served ice cold broccoli cheddar soup and poorly made sandwiches, we chose the booth next to were they serve the food and heard an older gentleman complaining about his soup as well, For both are pick 2's and drinks being 40 dollars and the food being atrocious I will take my business to an actual restaurant with this price and get actual service and good food! read more

Went here with my son around 2:30 PM on Dec 26. The wait was about 20 minutes after we placed our order via the kiosk but it was busy so we expected that. We each had the you pick two. The soups were fine but we each had a chicken sandwich and they were cold. Room temperature. One chicken patty was burned. Total for two lunches was $41. We will not be eating here again. read more

My wife is a fan of the Panera chain. Me, not so much. The offerings are varied but everything I try has the look and taste of assembly line fare. Breakfast baked goods are over sweet. The breads tend to be ordinary and more supermarket like than good bakery quality. One exception is the breakfast menu. They have egg dishes, like soufflés. These are pre made and if you get there early, they are a tasty treat. Get there late and they dry out or they run out. In general, the food is, at best, 3 stars. Better than many fast food places and if you shop carefully, potentially healthier. However, I'll visit only with my honey. Not a place I'll visit on my own. read more

Pretty busy location during the lunch hour. I will say I feel like the portions here are smaller and food quality isn't as good as other locations I've been to thus the lower rating. Also upon entering it kind of smelt like smoke... as if there was a fire that happened here at some point. Weird. It seems like they've cheaped out on ingredients since the last time I've been to a Panera. They had close to 40 minutes to make my food but it was no completed so I tried to get a simple plain bagel not toasted or sliced with plain cream cheese. I waited for 10 minutes for that bagel and never received it. I spent why break from work for food from them and spent money on it to never receive any food. I've been to many Paneras over the years. This was off brand and the food quality was awful. I took my family of four and nothing was hot. The broccoli cheddar soup texture was lumpy, gelatin-like, and it was lukewarm as was the tomato soup. The cheese flatbread pizza was cold and tasted like a cheap frozen pizza. There were only two digital ordering devices and one wasn't working properly. Then, there was only one cashier. Steer clear of this one and/or get new ownership. read more

Food and baked good are on par with each other resturant (if you didnt know not all of there baked goods are made on premise, as they have them baked and sent out, i use to work next to the main bakery) The staff and service is pretty good, the people behind the counter are friendly and the food came out super quick the last time i was their. All in all if you want a some soup and half a sandwitch and want to spend about 7-8 bucks i think youll be hard pressed to find another place that can beat that. read more

We went to the Panera in Roxbury. We both ordered a Bacon egg and cheese on an Asiago bagel(it had a smaller hole).... Beyond disappointed, all the bagels are about the size of your palm with 90% hole! There was more hole than bagel! They charge like $1.49 a bagel! They charge $5.49 for that bacon egg and cheese! Insane! We also got 2 small coffees total almost $17... We could have gone to a diner and had a real meal for not much more... If we went to a bagel shop we would have gotten hefty sandwich's and coffee (Our mistake) for less and we would have been full! They don't even bring the food to the table, might as well been in a fast food restaurant... I gave them one star because the little amount of food we received tasted good. Ok so have never really had a problem with food or the service here but today threw me off. This location brings your dine-in order right to your table (convenient!). I ordered pick two - Fuji Apple Chicken salad and Bacon Turkey Bravo. I was really turned off with the wilted lettuce which I would have let slide if it wasn't for the blatant strand of dirty blond hair in my salad. I lost my appetite completely. The food is typical here and fine. The morning checkout is so painful i try to go to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts instead. Takes forever and its wrong at least half the time. Great place for a meal. Friendly staff. Super clean restaurant. It get very crowded on weekend evenings. But a great place to grab a bite and hangout with your buds. The restaurant is extremely roomy and you definitely feel you have your own private space (unlike other restaurants where they stick you as close as possible to the table next to you). This Panera is not the best one I've been to. Menu is as expected. Bakery items disappear during the day as any other Panera. The differentiator for this Panera is the incredible slow service. Even though they seem to have a large number of people on staff, the wait to order and receive food was excruciatingly long. Attention to detail is not the best. We once got a sandwich without any meat on it! They also tend to run out of ingredients fairly quickly. I went to the Rockaway Panera today during prime time lunch rush with my sister during her break. Though all of the tables were full and the employees were bustling, the service and food could not have been better. The woman who brought us our food was an utter delight. She was genuinely cheerful despite the busy nature of the restaurant. Shortly after, the manager came to check on us, also. They were so very helpful and kind. To top it off, another employee came up to us with fresh samples of a chocolate pastry - delicious! The employees seemed to really care about our customer experience, and as always the food was fresh and delicious. I do not visit Panera too often, but this visit will inspire me to visit more often. I love the Panera Bread in Rockaway. It is clean and the employees are very friendly and helpful. When we get Panera we usually enjoy the Steak & White Cheddar, Smokehouse Turkey or Chipotle Chicken hot paninis. Out of their Signature Sandwiches the Napa Almond Chicken Salad is our favorite and we also enjoy the Smoked Ham & Swiss from their Cafe Sandwiches from time to time. The Mac & Cheese is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! I have to take a star away for two things (1) they never have any bread to sell because they use them up for sandwiches and (2) the french onion soup is awful. YIKES. I really hate leaving negative reviews, but this is a horrible Panera. We came in on a Saturday, it was not busy in the slightest bit. The girl who took our order was the only positive thing about the stop. It was a 20 minute wait for a PBJ sandwich and Mac N Cheese/Grilled Cheese. Once the food finally came out, everything in our super simple order was wrong. Even the peanut butter, which, COME ON it's the most simple thing in the world to make. How did you balance two tomatoes on a nickle sized piece of bread? Will this bowl of salad be refilled when I'm done, or can the bowl at least be filled up? I do love the self serve kiosks. I get to play with the calorie counts. Did you know you can remove mayo from the sandwiches and it drops the count a bijillion calories. Literally a bijillion calories. We were in this location on Friday February 20. We were on lunch break after a long week. There were 7 of us, all teachers. One of my coworkers did not really enjoy what she ordered, but was not going to comPlain. A worker, Pat, came over and asked us if everything was okay. She repeatedly told him yes, but he refused to accept it. He eventually came back with a bag pull of pastries for all of us.
