Ordered to go 15 minutes before closing and they were kind enough to still take our order! They packed it very nicely for us which was appreciated. We got a tonkotsu ramen and a chicken ramen, both spicy. The tonkotsu ramen was good, but not as savory as I'm used to. The chicken ramen, on the other hand, was delicious! The broth was very tasty yet not too filling. Both broths came with the usual toppings, and I have to say that the egg was cooked to perfection - runny yet still cooked. The prices were pretty standard, around $16 for each. They do have a very spacious place for seating if you choose to eat in.

Wifey and had heard very good things about Kazu Kitchen and finally got there a few weeks ago for some ramen...and we both loved it. We started with the Shumai appetizer and the Kani salad. The shumai was excellent and while I would have preferred a little more Kani in the salad, it tasted great. Both had chicken ramen for our entrees and it was fantastic. I can eat things way spicier than Wifey, but since this was our first time here I asked for chili sauce on the side so I could make it to taste. The broth was really good and the ramen and chicken were tasty. Next time I'll see if I could get white meat - as much as I like chicken thighs I think I would have preferred the breast meat in this soup. The portion was actually way more than we expected and we had enough left for me to have a second meal. When we walked in we were greeted immediately and we had a very, very friendly waitress who was great the whole meal. Nice decor and the place was spotless though it's not a huge space so I'm not sure how it would be if crowded. Wifey and I were the only ones there for about half the meal, but I'm hoping it was just the crappy weather that night because we both want to return.

Kazu Kitchen is a solid addition to the Denville scene, offering inexpensive and delicious pan-Asian cuisine. Unlike a Panda Express, the food is cooked to order. I ordered the hibachi chicken, which comes with fried, brown, or white rice. Even this "small" portion was generous, as you'll see in my photo. The mandatory mixed veggies made me feel less bad about my diet, and the delicious hibachi marinade was on point. One of the attendants brought out a mayo-based sauce and a ginger sauce for my protein, both of which were yummy to sample. If I'm being particular, I do like my fried rice a bit fluffier than it came, but it was still tasty. The side of miso soup was a bit richer than I usually look for. On a Sunday afternoon, it was positively full of talkative diners inside - 3 large parties, and 3 of two or fewer. Don't go in there looking for a quiet ambiance or a mood. It takes on the character of whoever's shown up. After being instructed by a waiting carryout diner (there was no signage in front), I walked up to the counter to order. Points for the use of reusable dishes and forks for dine-in customers.

I don't know why I was surprised to discover this was in a strip mall, but that's on me. A nice one, at least. The place was relatively busy but we were able to secure a table easily with zero wait time. Pleasant vibes inside. I don't mean this as an insult at all but I was expecting more ethnic decor in line with the restaurant's menu - instead, it's pretty Americanized and feels like a classic suburban NJ establishment. I liked the painted brick on the lefthand side that has Blue Spice's logo/sign on it; spiffy. The bathroom was also a high point, which is...not something I say often. It was very clean and smelled nice, and I liked the dark cruise-ship lighting vibe. We decided to split the scallion pancake app, which was an excellent decision. I work in the city and regularly have this item from a place in Chinatown, and I honestly thought this was better, mostly because it was thicker/denser than what I'm used to. Super tasty and would get that again in a heartbeat. Giant portion as well - we split the pancake, which was roughly the size of a small pizza. My chum had leftovers there, I did not; so it goes with us. I've had a few mediocre chicken katsu experiences of late, so this seemed like a chance for redemption. I ordered the Akiko Curry entree, which was their spin on chicken katsu curry. Honestly wasn't my favorite. Again, a HUGE portion here and was only able to finish about 60% of it despite having a pretty legit appetite coming in. And the presentation value is excellent as well, as far as that goes. This could easily just be a personal palate preference, but I wasn't crazy about the curry itself (which had a weird tang to it) and didn't resemble the standard curry I'm used to with this dish. Also, as you can see from the attached, the curry is basically on the side of the dish, separated from the chicken and rice. Because of that, the chicken is on the dry side, which is my primary beef (pun?) with the item to begin with. So a miss for me, but I could see why other people would like this (and apparently do). The service was excellent, full stop. Our waitress was very nice and personable; she had strong command of the menu and you could see her consistently engaging with other patrons throughout our meal as well. She took several group photos so this is apparently a Kingdom of Sussex hot spot for that, which I wouldn't have guessed. She was so good both of us remarked on it multiple times during the meal, which is a rarity. But a great example of hospitality markedly improving an experience and making what was already an overall positive situation that much better. Huge marks there. Would definitely come back but would explore other parts of the menu once I feasted on the scallion pancake.

Their menu is massive with almost 200 items literally numbered! It seems to be a neighborhood staple and I was looking forward to trying it. I started with the Malaysian Iced tea which was pretty sweet (as expected) but paired nicely with the meal. The Roti Canai is the most popular item here and I can see why. It's flaky and buttery and pairs well with the sweet & savory chicken potato curry. The Penang Satay Mix is an absolute skip. Apparently it's "charcoal-grilled" and there's no way that's possible. It was super dry & chewy. On the other hand, the Penang Char Kway Teow - this was my favorite dish of the night! The flat rice noodles were cooked perfectly and soaked up all the flavor from the soy sauce & chili paste. The shrimp & squid were super fresh and my only complaint is there wasn't enough. The Chili Chicken was simple yet full of heat, spices, and could've gone well with a vegetable dish. Super affordable, filling, and quick service. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating!

We were very excited to discover Malay nearby in Morristown, and we had to check it out. We ordered the Malay Prawn Mee, Chicken Sambal, and the Roti Canai. Roti Canai is one of my favorite Malaysian dishes, but this didn't quite hit the spot. The roti wasn't soft and dip-able. It was kind of flaky and kept falling apart every time I tried to use it to scoop up some curry. The curry was a little watery and not all that flavorful, and I defintiely would've appreciated more than just one or two chunks of potato and chicken. The chicken sambal and soup were additionally a bit disappointing. The chicken sambal was just okay for me, and the flavor didn't really blow me out of the water. It almost felt like something I could make at home. The soup similarly did not have a particularly rich or flavorful broth, and left me a little dissapointed. Another thing that really influences my review is how cold it was inside. It got even colder when people opened and closed the door. It was so cold that our food didn't seem hot. I think the cold air cooled it off instantly and we were left eating room temperature chicken and soup.
