This was the best experience I have had in a long time. The staff was excellent. Welcoming, helpful, kind. The food is actually reasonably priced and for lunch you can choose a soda which is included in the price whereas other restaurants are now charging $4.00 for a drink. You can also get fried rice with no up charge over white. They presented my dish in a beautiful bowl and it looked and tasted amazing. At first, it looks like your typical fast/sit down establishments. It had a menu bar behind the counter with many visuals of food. The person who took my order was very nice and you could tell she was passionate about the food she brings to her customers. When I first heard of this restaurant, I was hesitant about the quality of the food, due to the fact that it is multiple Asian cuisines under one roof. However, once I took a bite of my food, my concerns were gone. I ordered the Veggie Ramen (Spicy). Trust me, the spice really brings out the flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked it holds firms on the chopsticks. You have the option to either have your tofu steamed or fried (I chose fried). The black fungus gives a meaty texture to the dish, which works well for any vegetarians missing out. The real star of the dish, in my opinion, is the broth. This is where the flavor really comes from; the savory elements blends with the noodles and the tofu every time you dip your chopsticks. The crunchiness from the corn, scallions, and bamboo shoots balances out the noodles. After this fantastic experience, I have no doubt that I will return to Kazu and relive it all over again! read more

Kazu is a place I wanted to try and I was highly impressed with food , design and service , I only wished I came here sooner ! I was Prepared ! I got the udon noodle bowl with shrimp and vegetable tempura. My appetizer was shrimp shumai. The shumai was a good warm up . Very light . The udon noodle bowl had thin slice of sweet tofu and thicker noodles with fish cake . All flavors blended so well ! Delicious ! The room has these large bamboo ceiling lights that are lovely giving it a relaxed atmosphere, it's tucked into a smaller mall with ample parking pipped in a soft jazz. What can be better than this? If you follow my reviews you know I love ambiance ! Fantastic experience, Michelle is gracious shines her smile with a welcoming invite as to make yourself at home. She guided me on the menu knowing it was my first time there . Saving the hot spice for my next visit! I received a nice cup of hot green tea that warmed my soul! Our Friday Lunch Club (FLC) came out of hibernation for a lunch get together at Kazu Kitchen, located in a small strip mall at 276 E. Main St. in Denville. Kazu was a good choice. A cute, friendly venue, with a bright, vibrant, cozy atmosphere known for its ramen, hibachi, and classic pan-Asian and Japanese cuisine. Kazu, known as a counter-service spot is a family-run eatery that offers dine-in, takeout, and delivery, with options for quick bites, vegetarian dishes, and comfort food. Despite the counter-service tab our group received exemplary table service by one of the owners, Michele, who could not have been more welcoming. Great hospitality all around! And, I should mention is a BYOB and there is ample parking in the strip mall lot. The food was hot, delicious, and quickly served. Every dish was a home run. Our appetizers included Shumai, Crabmeat Cheese Rangoon, Rock Shrimp, and Stuffed Jalapeno Tempura. We then all enjoyed a steaming bowl of Hot and Sour Soup while we awaited our chosen entrees. I chose the General Tso's Chicken for my entree. Perfectly prepared, with sides of rice and broccoli. An ample serving of a delicious dish that I would not hesitate to order again (despite a diverse and ample selection of tantalizing choices). The attached food photos speak for themselves. Ordered to go 15 minutes before closing and they were kind enough to still take our order! They packed it very nicely for us which was appreciated. We got a tonkotsu ramen and a chicken ramen, both spicy. The tonkotsu ramen was good, but not as savory as I'm used to. The chicken ramen, on the other hand, was delicious! The broth was very tasty yet not too filling. Both broths came with the usual toppings, and I have to say that the egg was cooked to perfection - runny yet still cooked. Wifey and had heard very good things about Kazu Kitchen and finally got there a few weeks ago for some ramen...and we both loved it. We started with the Shumai appetizer and the Kani salad. The shumai was excellent and while I would have preferred a little more Kani in the salad, it tasted great. Both had chicken ramen for our entrees and it was fantastic. I can eat things way spicier than Wifey, but since this was our first time here I asked for chili sauce on the side so I could make it to taste. The broth was really good and the ramen and chicken were tasty. Next time I'll see if I could get white meat - as much as I like chicken thighs I think I would have preferred the breast meat in this soup. The portion was actually way more than we expected and we had enough left for me to have a second meal. When we walked in we were greeted immediately and we had a very, very friendly waitress who was great the whole meal. Nice decor and the place was spotless though it's not a huge space so I'm not sure how it would be if crowded. Kazu Kitchen is a solid addition to the Denville scene, offering inexpensive and delicious pan-Asian cuisine. Unlike a Panda Express, the food is cooked to order. I ordered the hibachi chicken, which comes with fried, brown, or white rice. Even this "small" portion was generous, as you'll see in my photo. The mandatory mixed veggies made me feel less bad about my diet, and the delicious hibachi marinade was on point. One of the attendants brought out a mayo-based sauce and a ginger sauce for my protein, both of which were yummy to sample. If I'm being particular, I do like my fried rice a bit fluffier than it came, but it was still tasty. The side of miso soup was a bit richer than I usually look for. On a Sunday afternoon, it was positively full of talkative diners inside - 3 large parties, and 3 of two or fewer. Don't go in there looking for a quiet ambiance or a mood. It takes on the character of whoever's shown up. After being instructed by a waiting carryout diner (there was no signage in front), I walked up to the counter to order. We ordered chicken w/ garlic sauce and chicken general taos both fresh, tasty, hot and seasoned perfectly with fried rice. Also, I tried the green tea made in house, first time, I'm hooked. We've been wanting to go to Kazu Kitchen since it opened in February 2024. I would describe it as a very casual sit down restaurant, with wait staff. They cook what you order and bring it to your table; so the food is not pre-made. At least on the day we visited, everyone working there appeared to be young, maybe 25 years old or less, so it has an energetic type atmosphere. Kazu Kitchen is also BYOB, located in a strip mall with a few other restaurants (e.g., Casa di Pizza) and other small businesses. My wife and I were not sure what to expect. On the Friday evening we were there it was about 3/4 full. The people running Kazu Kitchen are very friendly and the interior had been remodeled before it opened; previously I think it was take out only, from a window, so you didn't actually enter the restaurant or eat there. Inside now is clean and neat but not fancy. The selections on the menu are not extensive but certainly sufficient to choose from. My wife and I both ordered the hibachi dinners, mine steak and hers chicken. All of these types of dinners come with two dipping sauces, one a ginger sauce for the chicken or beef and the other a mayonnaise based, moderately sweet one they told us was used with the fried rice provided as part of the hibachi dinners. Both were very good and enhanced the flavor of parts of the dinners without being too overpowering. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of the meals, the amount of food provided and the very reasonable cost.The hibachi dinners were between $12 and $14 each. We will be back. Tried this place for the first time tonight. It was to-go. The good- restaurant looked clean, prices reasonable, good quality to-go containers, big portions and the service was great. The lady behind the counter was so nice. The bad- the food was bland overall. The fried rice had no flavor, chicken was bland too. Chicken was also extremely soggy, no crisp to it at all. The chicken was soggy and there was no sauces on it. So overall the chicken was bland, soggy and dry. I really wanted to like this place because there's no good Chinese food around and the service was so good. But unfortunately the food taste and quality underwhelmed. I will absolutely give it one more chance because of everything I said was "good". If it is better I will update my review. read more

With enough business they will deliver. They also have tables. I had the orange chicken bowl. It was an individual portion all in one bowl, chicken and broccoli on top of fried rice. I have gotten takeout several times. The hibachi salmon is excellent with brown rice. I can reheat leftovers next day at work and never have stinky fish smell. The chicken katsu is also a favorite.
